Although not on the analyses this is imo the best Pangoro set as sucker punch over knock off makes up for his low speed plus has surprise factor, and parting shot is great for gaining momentum on forced switches.

Hate to break it to ya, but Pangoro does not learn Sucker Punch.

Uh... How did you get that calc? (Edit: Found it ---> you forgot LO on Hoopa-U) What I got is totally different:

160 Atk Life Orb Hoopa-Unbound Drain Punch vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Pangoro: 289-341 (87 - 102.7%) -- 18.8% chance to OHKO (56.3% chance to OHKO after SR)

With this calc, which should be the correct one, Pangoro shouldn't be considered a check since even in the best case scenario for checking Hoopa-U, a 1 vs 1 situation that is, Pangoro gets outsped and can be OHKOed by Drain Punch.

I did calcs on a poorly translated Japanese app that calculates stats and damage. I still can't believe Kyurem can actually switch in to anything even with a negative nature. If someone could do the calcs online that would be cool, but this app hasn't failed me so far.

I picked Scarf instead of just going Life Orb because this also counters Scarf Hoopa. The only move that does significant damage to Kyurem is Life Orb Focus Blast with 96 SpA EVs.

Psychic is another option in that last slot to make the war end faster, but Nidoking's attacks will be at full power every turn.

If we had any more kings trying to kill each other, this would be game of thrones by now.

I chose this over AV Slowking (which takes the hits better and has enough room for SpA EV's to OHKO with Scald) because it seems easier to fit onto most teams. Defensive Slowking does the job well enough on its own, not even being 3HKO'd by Sludge Wave after rocks. In return, Nidoking is OHKO'd by Scald after a bit of prior damage. However, AV Slowking works even better if it is preferable for teambuilding.

For added hilarity, Cresselia can run Skill Swap to steal Nidoking's ability, but all that does is turn Psychic into a guaranteed OHKO after rocks.

Even though Alakazam takes massive damage upon switching in, if you come in as base form you wont be taking SR damage hence you can survive 100% of the time. However, if you are already Mega evolved before coming in, Alakazam could faint to Sludge Wave after SR damage, which reduces it to a check. Even switching to non-STAB moves like Ice Beam cause Alakazam to take over half.

While Alakazam does not appreciate taking the damage, it certainly loves to Trace Sheer Force, which is amazing for Alakazam as it could potentially give it enough damage to clean up a team after bringing down Nidoking.

P2 is so bulky it doesn't need to resist any of Nidoking's moves to wall it. Furthermore, it has reliable recovery via Recover and can 2HKO Nidoking with Ice Beam (which happens to be boosted by Sheer Force due to Trace!). Both Toxic and Thunder Wave are useless against it, but both are geat options to deal with some defensive threats and fast sweepers respectively (even Foul Play could be used for that matter).

Heatran @ Air Balloon
Ability: Flash Fire

Modest Nature
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power

- Stone Edge

Heatran on a Balloon is immune to 3 of Nido's attacks, meaning it's quite safe to switch him in. Earth power has a 75% chance of killing after stealth rocks, and Fire blast is a guaranteed KO when Heatran has a flash fire boost.
