Manaphy Event Cartridge!

So, I was watching a Youtube video earlier today, and the guy got a Toys R Us employee to show him the Manaphy distributer.

I thought it was a huge arcade machine size thing, it turns out to be a DS cart.

I asked the creater of this video to send higher res images.

Here they are:

And, here's the Youtube video I saw it on first:

Anyway, I thought you guys would think it's interesting how Nintendo's spreading events these days.

Yes, I have read that thread, but I did not want to get my post buried in the sea of people posting their Manaphy's stats.

I wanted to offer Smogon some new information, real pics of the cart, and screenshots of the game distributing Manaphy.

I don't think this belongs in that thread anyway.

Yea, all demos are like that. Unless there's a ROM for it and you can use it to transfer to a real DS, doesn't help much.

I can understand that, I just didn't know if you had seen the thread yet.

I don't have the ROM or anything, I just thought you guys would like to see it, geez.

Not saying it was a waste of time, but the ROM is more useful. Then we can find a way to start our own events or something like that. Frankly, it looks better then I thought. It's not like anyone would see it so I expected it to be generic looking.

Yeah, the employee told me that it was just a DS, so it was like the DS Download service. However, when I asked where it was, he was all, "If I told you, I'd have to kill you."

Yeah, I guess this guy got lucky.
My Toys R Us person would not even tell me what was distributing Manaphy.

Incase you're wondering...it says on the bottom of the screen:

"Press A to stop distributing"

I found a dump of the wondercard, and so I can actually distribute it using my diamond rom to my legit diamond by turning of the disribution flag, and allowing me to distribute it to other games.

I too found that Wondercard online, but it's 100% fan created, I can't guarantee it will look legit to Nintendo.

I know, but someone CREATED the .pcd file to replicate the one Nintendo was giving out. There's no way to prove it's legit, though.

Wait, I just realized that the second picture showed the store #. Which means that if Nintendo feels inclined to do so, they can do some damage and possibly get this person fired for breaking rules (the impression at my TRU was that employees are not allowed to show the cart or where it's being transmitted).

:toast:I wonder if anyone broke the rule and resold it...Also, thx for the pictures. And I agree, the second one shouldn't be shown with that #..

Fine, I'll take the # one down, then.

It's not against Nintendo's rules to let the employee show the cart to people. My Toys R Us person told us that if it gets lost, that Toys R Us can never hold a Pokemon event again.

I don't quite understand your statement.

The DS distributes the Manaphy, not a router or computer.
No, you can't broadcast it over the internet.

If you had the ROM, you would need 2 DS', one for distributing, and one for receiving.

As mentioned in the other thread, there were "captures" of DS Demos that were re-converted into a ROM and they had software which would broadcast the ROM through normal Routers.

You'd of course take the ROM, reverse engineer it and then stream it through an emulator on your computer and broadcast through a router.

Alternatively, you could also use an R4 and a second DS.

Capturing demos is no longer possible due to Nintendo implementing RSA encryption. The only way now is to get a physical dump of that cart and then use it on a flash cart or wait for an emulator that can emulate wireless properly.

Almost every demo has been dumped and this one should be no different. I expect a rom dump of this soon.

Wow. This isnt that hard. Say I went to TRU on Saturday. I have the wondercard on my cart right? Well, all I would need to do is dump the save, and, using pokesav, turn the distribution - unrestricted flag ON, meaning I can share the wondercard. Comprende?
