[Singles] Heracross [1/2]

[OVERVIEW]

Mega Heracross has the highest base Attack stat in Battle Spot Singles. Couple that with its exceptional ability in Skill Link, making all its multi-hit moves hit the maximum number of times, and the moves it has to abuse this ability, and Mega Heracross is one of the best wallbreakers in the metagame. Mega Heracross’s coverage moves, including Pin Missile, Close Combat, Rock Blast, Bullet Seed, and Earthquake, are perfect for taking down the most common physical walls in Battle Spot, namely Cresselia, Suicune, and Zapdos. Aside from its offensive capabilities, its good all-around bulk before and after Mega-evolving allows it to take a few hits, and its defensive typing lets it resist common types, such as Ground and Fighting, giving it a good matchup against Pokemon like Mamoswine and Lucario. Despite all this, though, it still has trouble beating a number of common offensive Pokemon. A low base Speed in base forme and an even lower Speed in Mega forme means that it is outsped by a great number of the top offensive threats. On top of that, while its defensive typing gives it some good resistances, it also leaves it weak to some very common attacking types, such as Fire and Flying, which means immense pressure is put on it from Blaziken and Talonflame.

[SET]

Name: All-Out Attacker
Move 1: Pin Missile
Move 2: Close Combat
Move 3: Rock Blast
Move 4: Bullet Seed
Item: Heracronite
Ability: Guts
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 156 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def / 4 SpDef / 92 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Moves
========

Pin Missile is the main STAB on this set, reaching an effective base power of 125 with Skill Link. Its primary targets are common Psychic-types like Cresselia and Slowbro, as well as Grass-types such as Serperior. It additionally comes with the added perk of being able to break Focus Sashes and Substitutes. Close Combat hits Steel- and Normal- types, including Mega Kangaskhan, Porygon2 and Heatran, for super effective damage. Alternatively, Earthquake is an option to nail Mawile and Aegislash. Rock Blast is Mega Heracross's best option for hitting the Flying-types that it otherwise has trouble with, such as Thundurus, Dragonite, Zapdos, Gyarados, and predicted Talonflame and Mega Salamence switch-ins. Finally, Bullet Seed dents bulky Water- and Ground- types like Suicune, Rotom-W, Mamoswine and Hippowdon.

Set Details
========

Heracronite gives Heracross great offensive stats and an amazing ability. Before Mega Evolution, however, Guts can be used to absorb status moves so that it isn't crippled by burns and paralysis. A spread of 156 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def / 4 SpDef / 92 Spe ensures that Mega Heracross takes less residual damage from certain sources, while also outspeeding Cresselia.

Usage Tips
========

Mega Heracross functions as a good lead, because it has very few solid switch-ins. Heracross’s resistances can be exploited with relative ease. It can come in on a resisted hit, particularly Earthquake or Mach Punch, or a free switch, giving it the opportunity to Mega Evolve and wreak havoc. Since most physical and special walls have low damage output, Heracross can very easily switch in on them, provided it can take out that wall with its coverage moves. Slower and Suicune are prime examples, because prior to Mega Evolving, Heracross can switch into Scald without any fear of being KOed or burned. Speed control is a godsend for Mega Heracross, coming in the form of Thunder Wave and Trick Room, because it allows Mega Heracross to beat common offensive threats that would otherwise counter it. You might want to consider benching Heracross if the team preview seems unfavorable to it.

Team Options
========

Cresselia can sponge most powerful hits for Heracross and provide it with Trick Room, Thunder Wave, and Lunar Dance support. It can also serve as a check to a lot of Pokemon that are faster than Heracross, such as Blaziken, Mega Salamence, and Kangaskhan. Heatran can cover Heracross's weaknesses effectively and Heracross can break through special walls that Heatran can't get past, such as Chansey. Heatran also beats Talonflame extremely reliably, which is a huge benefit for Heracross. Answers to Fire- and Flying- types in general really help out Heracross, which can switch in on almost all of Heracross's attacks, save Rock Blast. Examples of these kinds of Pokemon include Rotom-Wash and Tyranitar. Thundurus deserves a special mention here, as not only can it beat Flying-types easily, but it can also spread paralysis throughout the opposing team. Landorus-Therian serves as a blanket check to a lot of the common Pokemon that threaten Heracross, such as Blaziken, Talonflame, and sometimes Mega Kangaskhan, and can provide it with U-turn, an effective way to switch in Heracross safely. In addition, Landorus-T has Intimidate, which can force a lot of switches and provide Heracross with great support. Greninja is a good choice to provide Mega Heracross with additional coverage that can hit common threats super-effectively, such as Garchomp and Gengar.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

Other Options
=============

Swords Dance can give Mega Heracross absolutely terrifying Attack, but it comes at the cost of coverage. A Jolly nature allows it to outspeed several bulkier Pokemon after Mega Evolution, such as Dragonite and Breloom, but it comes at the cost of much-appreciated bulk. Substitute serves as a means to dodge common status moves that physical walls tend to throw at it, such as Thunder Wave or Will-O-Wisp. Heracross can run a number of sets without its Mega Stone, but you'll usually want to opt for the higher attack and Skill Link. An Assault Vest set with Guts and Pursuit can lure in Mega Gengar, a common counter of Heracross. Heracross can also run a Choice Scarf, turning it into a revenge killer.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Talonflame**: While Talonflame has to be wary of the Rock Blast on the switch, Heracross has no chance of living a Brave Bird from any variant of Talonflame.

**Mega Gengar**: Mega Gengar can trap Mega Heracross and burn it with a Will-O-Wisp, crippling it for the rest of the match.

**Fairy-Types**: Sporting a resistance to both of Heracross's STAB moves, Heracross can't do much to them, and they retaliate back with super-effective moves. Sylveon is a great example, with an ability to avoid the OHKO from anything Heracross can throw at it and fire off an incredibly powerful Hyper Voice.

**Mega Salamence**: Salamence can come in on Heracross taking little damage from its moves, except for Rock Blast, thanks to Intimidate. It can use Dragon Dance to turn itself into an offensive powerhouse, and decimates Heracross with Double-Edge, Return, or Hyper Voice.

**Faster Pokemon**: Although it has great bulk, a weakened Heracross can often be taken out by faster Pokemon with strong attacks, such as Garchomp's Outrage. Other notable examples of faster Pokemon include Charizard, Latios, and Mega Gardevoir.

**Blaziken**: Blaziken is faster than Heracross, and can hit it with a super-effective Flare Blitz. However, under Trick Room, Heracross can beat it out with Close Combat and Earthquake.

EQ's primary usage is to hit Aegislash
Assault Vest + Pursuit (+Guts) set should be mentioned in OO at least because you can bait and destroy Gengar hard with it.
Checks&Counters needs more uh....checks in general. Notable ones include Salamence, Mega Gengar (bar the set I just mentioned), Aegislash, ZardY, Skarmory, etc. "Faster Pokemon" should include stuff like Mega Gardevoir and Latios.

[OVERVIEW]
-highest base Attack stat in Battle Spot Singles
-good ability in Skill Link, making all its multi-hit moves hit 5 times i think it should be implied what the ability does, but just express why it's good. it makes all heracross's moves really high base power which of course makes it an even stronger wallbreaker
-coverage that hits most of the common walls such as for SE
-these traits make it one of the best wallbreakers in the tier
-good bulk before and after Mega Evolving
-defensive typing has key resistances like Ground and Fighting
-has lots of trouble with offensive Pokemon such as
-plagued by low base Speed in base form and even lower in Mega form
-weak to common types like Fire and Flying

[SET]
name: All-Out Attacker
move 1: Pin Missile
move 2: Close Combat / Earthquake
move 3: Rock Blast
move 4: Bullet Seed
item: Heracronite
ability: Guts
nature: Adamant
evs: 162 HP / 252 Atk / 92 Spe imo you should use a spread of 156 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def / 4 SpDef / 92 Spe, you get an optimal HP number(16n-1 and i think 8n-1 as well iirc, less residual damage from certain stuff plus basically the same bulk as your spread)

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

-Pin Missile is the main STAB, with an effective BP of 125; breaks Sashes and Subs
-Close Combat hits Rock- and Steel- types and mega kang, what rock and steel types?
talk about EQ, mainly for aegislash and heatran, also other steel types

-Rock Blast is Heracross's best option for hitting the Flying-types that Mega Heracross otherwise has trouble with, such as Thundurus and Talonflame
-Bullet Seed dents bulky Water- and Ground- types like Suicune and Hippowdon

Set Details
========

-Heracronite to Mega Evolve
-Guts to not be crippled by status like burns and paralysis
-(I need a better spread, does anyone have a good one?) i gotchu bruh, make sure you explain the spread though, and 92 spe is for outspeeding Cresselias and max atk obv to hit hard as possible

Usage Tips
========

-can come in on any resisted hit, giving it a chance to Mega Evolve
-since walls can't do much damage, you can switch in on them
-high bulk is very exploitable, and with a free switch, it can usually decimate the opponent. it's also very hard to switch in to.
you should talk about speed control since heracross is pretty much always used with trick room or thunder wave users.
probably talk about lunar dance a bit too

Team Options
========

Cresselia can sponge most hits for Heracross and provide it with Trick Room, Thunder Wave, and Lunar Dance support mention cress can deal with blaziken and other faster than hera stuff like garchomp, mega kang. Heatran can cover Heracross's weaknesses effectively mention tran beats talonflame reliably and Heracross can break through special walls that Heatran can't get past, such as Chansey. Answers to Fire- and Flying- types in general really help out Heracross, which can switch in on almost all of Heracross's attacks, save Rock Blast. Examples of these kinds of Pokemon include Rotom-Wash and Tyranitar. mention thundurus, its a good answer to flying stuff and spreads para to help out hera's low speed. lando-t might deserve a mention here. its in the top 10 teammates pretty consistently and is a good blanket check to a lot of things that beat down hera like blaziken, garchomp, mega kang, kinda talonflame

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Swords Dance can give Mega Heracross absolutely terrifying Attack, but it comes at the cost of coverage. Earthquake can hit Poison- and Electric- types for super-effective damage, and is notably Mega Heracross's best way of damaging Aegislash, but again, Mega Heracross can make better use of its other coverage moves for wallbreaking IMO make EQ a move in the main set its way better than OO and becoming standard now, theres not a whole lot you need cc for that eq doesnt take care of. A Jolly nature allows it to outspeed base 70 Speed Pokemon after Mega Evolution, like Dragonite dragonite is base 80, i know most are adamant so you do outspeed lol but change the "base 70 speed pokemon" comment before this and Breloom. Heracross can run a number of sets without its Mega Stone, but you'll usually want to opt for the higher attack and Skill Link. An Assault Vest set with Guts and Pursuit can lure in Mega Gengar, a common counter of Heracross. Heracross can also run a Choice Scarf, turning it into a revenge killer.
mention substitute, hera can use it to dodge some status against stuff like p2 that might try to twave or toxic

Checks and Counters
===================

**Talonflame**: While Talonflame has to be wary of the Rock Blast on the switch, Heracross has no chance of living a Brave Bird from any variant of Talonflame.

**Poison-Types**: Poison-types resist all of Mega Heracross's moves, bar Rock Blast and Earthquake, and can often deal big damage back to Mega Heracross. Chief among them is Mega Gengar, who can trap and burn Mega Heracross with a Will-O-Wisp, crippling it for the rest of the match. i think this section should just be gengar lol i dont think mega venu can beat hera and its the only other poison i can think of

**Fairy-Types**: Sporting a resistance to both of Heracross's STAB moves, Heracross can't do much to them, and they retaliate back with super-effective moves. name some fairy types

**Aegislash**: Although Heracross can carry Earthquake to hit Aegislash, it doesn't do that much YES IT DOES LOL, and none of Mega Heracross's other moves hit Aegislash for even neutral damage. Aegislash can retaliate back with a strong special attack.

**Mega Salamence**: Salamence can come in on Heracross taking little damage from its moves bar rock blast, pretty sure rock blast on the switch does a good chunk(correct me if im wrong though), thanks to Intimidate. It can use Heracross as setup bait, and decimates it with Double-Edge, Return, or Hyper Voice.

**Faster Pokemon**: Although it has great bulk, a weakened Heracross can often be taken out by faster Pokemon with strong attacks, such as Garchomp's Outrage. Other notable examples of faster Pokemon include Charizard, Latios, and Mega Gardevoir.

add a section for blaziken imo

The issue with Aegislash is that EQ doesn't kill in any scenario, and it can use it to get up its Weakness Policy. Which, in case you were wondering, is kinda bad for Heracross. Mentioned that, but got all my other stuff. Yay for check.

Rock Blast/Bullet Seed + EQ kills. So aegi cant even switch in, and in a lead matchup you can bullet seed then EQ to avoid WP and live whatever it does.

The more you know. Also, the existence of P2 and the lack of stuff that can reliably beat it is another reason to use CC.

yeah, CC definitely has it's uses. thats why a lot of hera's still run it :)

also,

"The spread dodges the 2HKO from Thundurus's Thunderbolt and has 92 Speed to outspeed uninvested Cress"

You should change this imo. The spread doesnt avoid the 2hko from life orb thundurus and i think thats prominent enough to a point where you can't ignore it. Also, the spread wasnt specifically designed for surviving thundurus anyway. The EV spread is just max attack, enough to creep Cress(not uninvested, it actually creeps 4 speed), then the rest is put into HP until it hits a 16n-1 number and the remaining was put into each defense. Considering the HP is just dumped I don't think you need to mention random calcs against it, or at least not one that's really dependent on what item the pokemon has like thundurus.

[OVERVIEW]
-highest base Attack stat in Battle Spot Singles
-good great ability in Skill Link, making all its multi-hit moves hit 5 times, meaning all of Mega Heracross's moves have very high BP (and he has great moves to abuse such as: ___ )
-coverage that hits most of the common walls such as Suicune and Slowbro for SE (that's just Bullet Seed, what about Rock Blast? Does Bug / Fighting STAB hit anything good? what about EQ?)
-these traits make it one of the best wallbreakers in the tier metagame
-good bulk before and after Mega Evolving
-defensive typing has key resistances like Ground and Fighting (which mons sport these typings that Heracross can prey on?)
-has lots of trouble with offensive Pokemon like Garchomp and Mence (why? does Garchomp really give him trouble? I've killed a few Chomp with Hero in my time)
-plagued by low base Speed in base form and even lower in Mega form
-weak to common types like Fire and Flying (so what mons is he scared of specifically?)

-Bullet Seed dents bulky Water- and Ground- types like Suicune, Rotom-W and Hippowdon

Set Details

-Heracronite to Mega Evolve
-Guts to not be crippled by status like burns and paralysis in non-mega forme
-Max Attack to hit as hard as possible
-92 Speed gets the jump on Cress
-rest dumped into HP to get a 16n-1 number and 4 into each defense (ok I think saying that you aren't 2HKOed by non-Life Orb Thundurus is actually good because Life Orb is 17% usage so majority of the time you can 1v1 it)

Usage Tips
========

-I think Mega Hera is a good lead because it has such limited solid switch-ins, and I think you're overestimating his bulk. since he's slow he can't switch in too freely because he's open to being outsped and revenge killed so you wanna save health badly.
-can come in on any (? really ?) resisted hit, giving it a chance to Mega Evolve (any common attacks he resists that he can come in on?)
-since walls can't do much damage, you can switch in on them (you need examples)
-high bulk is very exploitable, and with a free switch, it can usually decimate the opponent. it's also very hard to switch in to.
-thrives with speed control, and can get a free switch off of Cresselia's Lunar Dance. scrap the Cres bit and save it for team options. say that if you can save bringing Hera in until you've spread para onto relevant threats is a good idea coz then Hera can just clean up

But yeah it's a very solid switch-in to a predicted Pin Missile / Bullet Seed and destroys with Flare Blitz
This wasn't too bad, just a bit brief in some parts where you lack examples of stuff. Remember you gotta write this like we're idiots and don't know how to use Heracross haha

My version: Mega Heracross boasts the highest Attack in the whole metagame, along with several moves that can make use of its ability Skill Link, such as Pin Missile, Bullet Seed and Rock Blast, allows it to break through some common walls seen in Battle Spot like Cresselia, Suicune and Zapdos respectively. Having decent bulk and a typing which gives it useful resists to Ground- and Fighting-types, means Heracross will have a good matchup against Mamoswine and Mega Lucario (note that Iron Tail does a HUGE chunk however and Mamoswine has access to Endeavor + Ice Shard). Heracross also has an option of going non-Mega, which is actually faster than its Mega counterpart, it can then make full use of its great ability Guts, so that common status such as burn and paralysis will make Heracross more lethal. Due to its below average Speed, Heracross struggles with some common offensive threats such as Talonflame, Blaziken, Mega Salamence and Greninja.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves

Bullet Seed dents bulky Water- and Ground- types like Suicune, Rotom-W and Hippowdon. -> And Slowbro/Mega Slowbro
Set Details
========

Heracronite gives Heracross great offensive stats and an amazing ability. Before Mega Evolution, however, Guts can be used to absorb status moves so that it isn't crippled by burns and paralysis. A spread of 162 HP / 252 Atk / 92 Spe prevents non-Life Orb Thundurus from 2HKOing Mega Heracross, while still being able to outspeed Cresselia.
My version: Running Adamant nature with maximum investment in Attack maximizes Heracross's damage output, taking full advantage of that huge base Attack. 92 EVs in Speed allows Mega Heracross to outspeed minimum Speed Cresselia by one point, while the rest is allocated to HP to increase bulk which prevents a non-Life Orb Thundurus from 2HKOing Mega Heracross. Guts is the preferred ability as it allows Heracross to be somewhat useful if it gets an expected status which is particularly useful against Scald burns. Heracronite increases Heracross's overall bulk via Mega Evolution, at the cost of some Speed, while granting it Skill Link, making its multi-hit moves reach full power.

Usage Tips
========

Add: Heracross can also be brought in the later stages in the match after the Flying- and Fire-types such as Talonflame, Blaziken, Charizard and Volcarona have been removed, as Heracross easily gets OHKO'ed by these threats. Consider benching Heracross if Team Preview seems very unfavorable, such as seeing Gengar, Salamence, Blaziken or Talonflame on one same team.

Team Options
========

Add these:
-Raikou can set up dual screens for Heracross so that it has an easier to set up Substitute/Swords Dance, or straight up nuke something with its STAB/coverage, while Heracross has no problem tanking Earthquakes (especially behind Reflect), while Raikou takes on Talonflame as well.
-Gyarados can set up Dragon Dance on things that threaten Heracross thanks to typing (+Mega Evolution) and Intimidate such as Talonflame, Blaziken and to some extent, Salamence.
-Talonflame does a fantastic job at dealing with frail and fast threats that Heracross have trouble with such as Gengar, Mega Gardevoir and can deal with Blaziken that get out of control.
-As Mega Salamence is such a pain for Heracross, consider Greninja for being able to outspeed both forms (prior to Dragon Dance) and OHKO with Protean boosted Ice Beam.
-Whimsicott can be somewhat useful of a Trick Room setter, being able to come in on Spore and Leech Seed aimed at Heracross, while also absorbing locked Outrages and proceed to annoy the opposing team with status.
-For foes that take advantage of Heracross's poor match up, such as when Blaziken and Salamence use the opportunity to set up, Whimsicott can easily lock them in using Encore.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

IMPORTANT: Earthquake has 35% usage, you need to at least mention it here. It is used to hit Aegislash who can otherwise wall Heracross completely, while more importantly, it is used to OHKO Blaziken on the switch or under Trick Room!

Checks and Counters
===================

**Blaziken**:
Blaziken is faster than Heracross, and can hit it with a super-effective Flare Blitz.
Better to say: Blaziken can easily OHKO Heracross with STAB Flare Blitz, but must be aware of Earthquake especially when Heracross is under the effects of Trick Room.

Great work 6tennis, please do ask cant say if you have any further questions, since he's been keeping a close eye on your analysis (if I recall correctly).
Anyhow, implement these and I'll look over it again to see if I missed something (or if someone else checks it).

Do people not see that Pin Missile hits Slowbro for SE damage?
Greninja can't switch into Salamence lol
I don't know what happened, but Earthquake was in the actual set. I'll put it back in there.
Mega Hera can beat Gren pretty easy, actually. It even breaks Subs and Sashes. You only have to worry about the rare Extrasensory. (edit: lol i forgot that people run Scald now, lol)
I like the other team options, I'll put them all in.
Working on the changes.

  • Certainly, you can mention that in the moves section then? Lol. Also, mention that it also hits Cresselia. "Psychic-types such as Mega Slowbro and Cresselia."
  • Maybe also mention Mamoswine as part of the Pokemon that gets hit by either Close Bombat or Bullet Seed because it does get OHKOed by either. "Close Combat hits Ice-, Normal-, and Steel-types such as Mamoswine, Mega Kangaskhan, Porygon2, and Heatran. Or add Mamoswine after Hippo.
Set Details
========

  • Mention what bobochan said above. I was going to say specifically what each EVs do until I read his post. Agreed with it so mention, "Maximum Attack EVs with an Adamant nature maximizes Mega Heracross's damage output, taking advantage of its huge Attack stat.
  • Mention "specifically" the 92 EVs to outspeed Cress.
  • Also mention everything else that's above for the HP evs.
Team Options
========

  • I'd mention all that's highlighted in blue (Just because it gives players more options when it comes to choosing partners for Hera imo). Not to mention Fairy-types can be a nice switch-in to Dragon-type moves for Mega Heracross.
Checks and Counters
===================

  • Imo, mention Mega Mawile in Fairy-types because Mega Heracross does not OHKO Mega Mawile with Close Combat or Earthquake when it runs full investment HP. Also, Mawile would come in safely and get an Intimidate off on Mega Heracross as well. Play Rough KO's it. "Even though Mega Mawile doesn't resist Mega Heracross's Close Combat and Earthquake, it can survive the attack and KO it back with Play Rough. Additionally, Mawile can come in safely and get an Intimidate off on Mega Heracross, which will allow it to take its attacks much better."

Eh, that's all that I have for it. My first AM QC check (I think this was bad).

Have a wonderful day, wahoo!

I was supposed to check this AGES ago, but my health and working on that Kanto Classic article owned my soul for a while. Anyways, just got a few nitpicks from talking with Jibaku and Dragonwhale a while ago!

-Me and Dragonwhale feel like Jolly come out of other options, and should be slashed in, and a fast spread should be mentioned in Set Details(just 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe). Main reason for it is because with max Speed and Jolly, it gruantees that you will outspeed Breloom. It also outspeeds Adamant Mamoswine, which is neat since you can own Focus Sash Mamoswine with Bullet Seed. Considering how annoying those two leads often are for teams, this makes Jolly Mega Heracross a great option. Something that's also neat (though risky) is that Jolly Heracross actually outspeeds Kangaskhan before they both Mega Evolve, which can snatch you a surprise KO. And like you mentioned, outspeeding Dragonite is neat.

-I think Earthquake needs to be slashed in, because Aegislash is such a huge threat to Heracross, its the only way to 2HKO Aegislash, plus you already mention it. Most people use it over either Bullet Seed and Earthquake, which are sadly already valuable moves. I'd mention Earthquake at the end of moves, and say that you have to sacrifice some wall breaking power to deal with Aegislash (which can actually be worth it for teams that have problems with Aegislash).

-You probably also want to move Rock Blast to the 2nd mentioned move, since Heracross without Rock Blast or Pin Missle are extremely rare, while you'll occasionally see them run without Bullet Seed or Close Combat to nail Aegislash.

-Not sure if "dent" is the right word for Bullet Seed. Out of that list, Bullet Seed straight up 2HKOs Suicune and Hippowdon, and OHKOs min HP Mamoswine and non defensive Rotom-W. In fact, OHKOing Mamoswine is huge, since a lot of them run Focus Sash!

-You mention Landorus-T in checks to Blaziken. Just be careful: mixed Blaziken usually runs HP Ice, which is bad news for Landorus-T. So usually you'll only want Landorus-T to handle the physical variants.

-Be careful about the Fairy-type mention in checks: Sylveon needs Bold max HP max defense to have a shot at avoid a 2HKO from Rock Blast / Bullet Seed believe it or not.

Otherwise, once you implement these checks, I'll give you a final QC stamp!

I think both Misaka Mikoto and Theorymon has pretty much covered everything (Jolly slashed after Adamant, fast spread in Set Details, etc.).

One thing, I don't think Earthquake should be slashed, the only two things it hits that none of its other moves do are Aegi and MegaMaw, both of which you have to hit on the switch, or Hera will lose anyway (both easily KO back with a WP-boosted STAB move or 2x STAB Play Rough, respectively). Not to mention it's significantly weaker than both of Hera's STABs and both RB and BS in general.

A Moves mention or OO is fine.

Completely disagree with you here. Earthquake lets heracross OHKO mega gengar as well and none of the other moves do that. If it didn't have EQ, mega gengar could switch in, take a rock blast and just destiny bond and now you lose your heracross. Hitting aegislash is very important because it's in the top 12 and it has nothing to hit it with besides EQ. Usually close combat is better but earthquake definitely needs to be slashed in.

You're forgetting that Gengar has Levitate in its base form, meaning you'd have to hit it after it's MEvo'd and when it switches in...you make a good point about Aegi though.

I personally think the set is just fine the way it is now, a strong Moves mention is really the most I'd give EQ.

252+ Atk Mega Heracross Bullet Seed (5 hits) vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Aegislash-Shield: 35-45 (20.9 - 26.9%) -- approx. 1.9% chance to 4HKO
252+ Atk Mega Heracross Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Aegislash-Shield: 116-138 (69.4 - 82.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Looking at those ranges, I got a 49.5% chance of KOing with that combination. So Aegislash can't really switch in and Earthquake turns what would be a solid counter into a pretty weak check. Not to mention that Earthquake is used on just under 40% of Heracross...

So yeah, Earthquake is definitely not being removed from the main set.

Also, hurry up and implement this stuff 6tennis so we can GP / upload it

Heracross is great. That must be why I spent so much time making an EV spread for it(only on for which I took copious notes while calcing.

236 HP/ 36 Atk/ 192 SpD/ 44 Spe Adamant

Outspeed uninvested base 80s, OHKO Mega Blaziken, Azumarill, 2HKO Porygon2-87.5 % to OHKO 244 HP/12 Def, OHKO 252/252 Wobbuffet, 93.8% to OHKO standard Whimsicott, it 3HKOs back w/Moonblast. 93.8% to OHKO 244/168 Thundurus-it has .6% to 3HKO back w/ T-bolt. 252 SpA Timid LO Thundy T-bolt has 9.8 % to 2HKO, 12.5% to OHKO at +2. 252Atk Jolly Mega Lopunny Return 9.4% to 2HKO. 0 Atk Skarmory Drill Peck 2HKOs, Bullet Seed vs 252/252 Relaxed Hippowdon 2HKOs, it can maybe 5HKO in return. 252 SpA Mega Manectric 2HKOs w/Overheat, even Modest. I know that's a lot, but you asked.

Could easily find more stuff or compare it with the standard set upon request.

I don't think you need all the Spe the standard set runs-Cress isn't OHKOd by even max Atk Pin Missile very often, and will prolly t-wave and then Lunar Dance anyways(or Lunar Dance right off if it's not t-wave, I don't think very many at all are neither of those.) Suicune maybe, but I think with what those Spe EVs can do with bulk it's better to have something else that can handle Cune and/ or more Speed control.

Less Atk is kind of weird, but there's something it still kills which is why I didn't want a different nature or w/e, and it still gets most of the same kills as I recall. If nothing else's think this can be listed in OO as a bulkier spread, but I'm nobody do up to you XD. If using EQ more Atk prolly makes more sense-I was calcing for a somewhat more standard set of the multi hit moves and CC.

"A Jolly nature allows it to outspeed several bulkier Pokemon after Mega Evolution, such as Dragonite and Breloom, but it comes at the cost of much-appreciated bulk."

Nitpick, but this part makes no sense. You clearly must mean power not bulk, since Jolly is no less bulky than Adamant.

Other than that really good. I mean Hera is pretty simple, but still lol.
