*bugzinator vs Omfuga: Omfuga. Both of them are returning SPL crew after a one-season stint in SPL 6. From the numbers out of last season, Bugz had a more consistent SPL 6 season than Omfuga; however, Omfuga did not disappoint with his strong early game against maZary. Could this be the start of the Season of Omfuga? Maybe. If he doesn't sleep on Kyurem.
dodmen vs calloflochie: dod got caught off guard by some unconventional Pokemon sets, which lost him early game vs. Tentacruel. Regardless, he's made a couple of solid plays and didn't do too bad as debut player. Lochie definitely has experience on his side, but his team was at best questionable. Was it to get into dice's head? We may never know. He made some interesting plays, too. Banking on calloflochie.
*Hikari vs kokoloko: New TL vs. Old TL. I'm leaning mostly on Hikari at the moment. Hikari really went for some unconventional sets in his game against dod, such as his Tenta set and use of Druddigon. This could be pretty bad for kokoloko, whose team struggled against the uncommon AV Slowking against bugz. Both are veterans to the game and played since SPL 3. If kokoloko focuses on his problems from Week 1, we could have a solid match here.
teal6 vs. dice: Here's the thing. Dice has been in SPL longer than teal6 has. However, dice's resume is filled with Ubers (and the seldom NU) games, so he's relatively fresh to SPL for argument's sake. Dice had a solid team and a solid hold of early game and mid game, so he's not something to take lightly. teal6 also had a pretty good game against xMarth (a pretty good game overall), so teal6 and dice will be an interesting game. Leaning more on dice at the moment.
xMarth vs maZary: xMarth. Really don't have much to say here. Based on his performance against teal6, he's a much more solid and consistent player.
Predictions: A lot of the teams were pretty cookie-cutter standard, but I think quite a few people slept on Kyurem. Omfuga vs. maZary showed how devastating Kyurem actually and how both of their teams had not a lot in the way of checking it consistently. Maybe we'll see more Kyurem this week.
