ORAS OU Mega Bro has Natty Ice for Everyone

Hey, so I've been pretty much running sweeper teams based around dragon dancers or things like zard y in battle spot singles for awhile (pretending they are OU teams and staying to those rules as well as my own: not using stuff like rotom-w/vanillice/landorus-t/other stuff I personally dont fully qualify as pokemon so i dont use them). I decided though to try out Mega Slowbro because I thought he was cool. It originally started as a troll battle spot team with custap berry explosion forretress with slowking/megabro regenerator abuse, but I decided to take it to full OU, because it was sweet. Anyways my team has evolved over the past 2 weeks into this pretty awesome team:
_________________________________________________________________________________

Mega Slowbro
Slowbronite
Bold | Regenerator EV's: 252 HP, 80 Def, 176 SpD
Slack off | Psyshock | Scald | Calm Mind

-My main braj, he sit back enjoying natty ice all day. He walls physical attacks, is a calm mind win condition and that's mostly it. I abuse regenerator before mega evolving if it is beneficial to. The slowking/bro regenerator switching I find very effective. I've only lost walling battles to Toxic setters/Cresselia is a big problem (hopefully scizor/hydreigon deal with it effectively)/lugia with the exact same build (even though it's uber, just saying).

Slowking
Assault Vest
Modest | Regenerator EV's: 252 HP, 252 SpA
Future Sight | Psychic | Fire Blast | Scald

-This guy is a sweet switch in for many threats on the team, specifically for nullifying SpA's where slowbro as regular Def cannot. This is why I run assault vest and to this point I have never seen this thing 1HKO'd by anything. I generally can kill almost anything in 2HKO by Future sight + a psychic, also really useful for just future sight hit and run by switching out with regenerator. I've done a lot of staying power plays by not evolving slowbro early and just abusing regenerator between the two.

Garchomp
Life Orb | Rough Skin
Naive | Att 252, Spe 252
Outrage | Stealth Rock | Stone Edge | Earthquake

-Run Naïve + speed Iv’s to pretty much always guarantee going first. Super solid, usually has an coverage move to do massive damage to whatever the opponent sends out with Stone Edge/Earthquake/Outrage. He deals with flyers and heavy fighters, back-up dragon killer. Also Outrage STAB is just solid either case. Strong sweeper. Sets stealth rocks. k bai garchomp

Hydreigon
Choice Scarf | Levitate
Modest | SpA 252, Spe 252
Fire Blast | Draco Meteor | Earth Power | Dark Pulse

-This pokemon is one of the most effective pokemon I've ever used in my short career. I learned how to use choice items off this guy and he is so powerful with great coverage that he almost always sweeps half of my opponents team. He is my number 1 answer to killing anything that isnt tanky on the enemy team in 1HKO or rarely 2HKO. Especially switching into slowbro (rock prediction) or slowking (ice prediction) or sylveon (for drag attack prediction). Not to mention I can free switch into this guy with Levitate. He and sylveon with slowking/bro have really good synergy. He also always kills greninja's which were a huge problem to my team literally 100% of the time with Draco Meteor. Always goes first with very rare exceptions which I have never seen 1HKO him because of surprising natural tankiness. Kills ghosts that threaten my slowking/bro also. Just extremely sweet coverage.

Sylveon
Choice Specs | Pixilate
Modest | EV's HP 180, Def 60, SpA 252, Spe 16
Hyper Voice | Shadow Ball | Psyshock | HP: Ground

-So straight off a Smogon build. I was originally using the pokemon in doubles where it was godly. So I just brought it for an Extremely strong STAB to fight against just most things. That is kinda being undescriptive, but this is like my solution for my opponents Factor X. I can pretty much throw in my Sylveon on anything and usually 1HKO or 2HKO anything with pixilated Hyper Voice spam. It's also an amazing switchin for my hydreigon or garchomp. While irrelevant, I sweep almost every legendary pokemon battle spot single team with hydreigon and this sylveon. Also can kill stuff like heatran.

Scizor
Choice Band | Technician
Adamant | EV's
Night Slash | Defog | Bug Bite | Bullet Punch

-This guy is an awesome switch in against any steel type and some physical attackers. He is here to possibly defog, but usually kill fairy types, kill dark types, finish off rotom-w's with bug bite. Also back up kill ghost types that can cause problems for my team. Choice band for killing power.

_____________________________________________________________________________
I'm pretty inexperienced in competitive play, but I'm not helpless by any means and I think I've stumbled onto a pretty awesome/strong team comp for the current meta. Unfortunately I've mostly only been able to practice in battle spot singles (like 100) and such, but I have gotten in a decent number (like 10) of 6v6 battles and it has gone over well so far. These are all of the OU battles I've participated in ever so far. Notably I've beaten a big name streamer for one of those 10 full OU battles. Only played one match against their OU team, but they have something along the lines of a 10:1 ratio so I like to think my team is pretty solid as is. Significantly toxic is a huge problem for my team, but that's something that I just realized I can switch Scizor in for. Toxic is a problem for walling with my Mega slowbro and abusing regenerator on slowking. If you see where I can make good improvements, let me know please. Lastly Landorus-T scares me, but I've killed them so far.

Hi!

Before getting into the team, I just would like to let you know that usually the metagame we are referring is the one you find on the OU ladder on Pokemon Showdown! I suggest you to test your team on pokemon showdown, where there is a very different metagame and edit your post with some new contents (for example new threats you found) and eliminate some others (like Lugia things related that don't fit the ou metagame).

Speaking about the team:

A) your team need to accomplish a goal and this goal is to let your bulky win condition win the game. In order to do so, you have to support it properly. Your team suffers a lot from Mmanectric and other electrics and fairies because you really lack a solid ground type (scizor is not that good in checking fairies). I suggest you to remove Slowking and put something that is able to deal with such threats.

Here some suggestion for the slot:

1) tangrowth or amoonguss could complete the regenerator core with Mslowbro, with the raw bulk they can deal with electrics to an extent and Amoonguss is a good way to deal with fairies bar Mgardevoir.

Tangrowth @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Leaf Storm
- Earthquake
- Knock Off
- Hidden Power [Fire]

Amoonguss @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 136 Def / 120 SpD
Calm Nature
- Spore
- Giga Drain
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Clear Smog

2) you could otherwise put Klefki or Skarmory to deal with fairies in the Slowking slot. Your team really appreciate spike stacking, that way Hydreigon and Garchomp can turn 3hko in 2hko and safe switchins are no more safe.

Klefki @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Spikes
- Foul Play
- Magnet Rise
- Thunder Wave

Skarmory @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 232 SpD / 24 Spe
Careful Nature
- Spikes
- Roost
- Iron Head
- Whirlwind

B) the Scizor set is just bad. First of all you really can't put defog on a choice locked mon (bar trickscarf lati maybe). Secondly night slash is a bad move and knock off is generally superior or you could opt for the pursuit utility. Anyway, if you decided to put one between tangrowth or amoonguss you really need a steel type here and something like Jirachi could be a good fit. I'd personally use scarf Jirachi and I'd change Hydreigon from Scarf to Life orb.

Jirachi @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Iron Head
- Healing Wish
- Fire Punch
- U-turn

Jirachi works amazingly here because let you grab momentum for your 2 good wallbreakers (hydre and sylveon) for an easier Mslowbro sweep.

Instead, if you choosed one between klefki and skarmory, you could replace scizor with something able to check electrics better.

Tyranitar or Raikou are good here (tyranitar has also the plus of checking bisharp who is a bit of a nuisance)

Tyranitar @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Pursuit
- Crunch
- Stone Edge
- Superpower

Raikou @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Calm Mind
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Substitute

C) now some minor changes. Garchomp's nature should be jolly and not naive unless you run fire blast. You could try with the naive nature a set with max speed, max atk sp and 4 atk and stealth rock, earthquake, draco meteor and fire blast to lure in ferrothorn and remove it for Mslowbro. If you go fully phisical, just use jolly.
For sylveon, try to fit baton pass (replacing or shadow ball or psyshock) to gaib momentum

That's it. Good luck buddy :) feel free to pm me or reply here for anything you need

Awesome ideas, ty very informative. Also kinda of facepalm on night slash on scizor, didnt even check for knock off, rip. Few questions quickly if you dont mind:

1. Does jolly give out the same speed as naive then? I was under the impression that naive gave the very max speed, however it may not even be significant towards outspeeding anything with that difference, just curious if I'm misinformed.

2.. From your suggestions I'd be looking into jirachi and tangrowth, but what would i use to check fire stab moves if i were on tangrowth. I feel uncomfortable with mslowbro taking upwards of 40% damage from like a zard y stab. Would tangrowth with assault vest stand a chance? What I mean is i imagine this scenario: I switch Mslowbro in on a stab fire move, not megaevolved yet. Takes like 35% HP. Now: Option A) I can scald and hope for a 1HKO, while getting Stabbed again, say if it's zard y with a solar beam. That could kill or put me in a position where I have to now switch out again because I'm too slow and wont get off slack off in time, also might die easily later in match because super low HP. Option B) Use and spam slack off until one day after 16 moves their stab pp is used up? I havent done calculations, but ive seen it take damage like this before from resisted SpA. I feel my team lacks a fire switch in. Maybe this situation I'm procuring is quite rare so it might just be a weakness that exists on my team. As every team has some of these weaknesses.

2a. What's my solution to Mega Zard Y? I feel he threatens Mslowbro hard, jirachi, tangrowth, potentially garchomp with (2HKO?) solarbeam? Assume I've fixed the garchomp to jolly from naive lol. Pray garchomp get's stone edge off and maybe Mslowbro survives 2 solarbeams and gets 2 scalds off.

3. So if I switch in Jirachi onto Rotom-W, would u-turn be my strongest hit into it? Do you know how much it would do to it or have a link for a calculator where I could check.

Edit: 4. How do you feel about making slowbro with assault vest instead of tangrowth and making defensive wall mega venusaur in this team comp my mega?

What I think About Your Team First Glance

This team needs work. Oh costi gave some very nice suggestions.
You definitely should use them or keep them in the back of your mind when building again at least.
This is original and different. I definitely haven't seen anything like it. I will now suggest some sets that are out of the box like this team. If you want serious changes then definitely take costi's advice. I am here to make it more hear [:
How You Can Improve Your Team

slowking.gif

Slowking @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
- Whirlpool
- Nasty Plot
- Psyshock
- Scald

This set is heat....Being able to trap mons like clefable and being able to set up all over em is so dope.
This is also a fantastic stall breaker and stall doesn't have many answers for this sense they don't want of their mons getting trapped cause it can lead to their cores breaking.

slowbro-mega.png

Slowbro @ Slowbronite
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 80 Def / 176 SpD
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Scald
- Iron Defense
- Slack Off

This set was really popular early oras. Time to bring it back fam [: Being able to have the ability to lose to literally zero sd'r is amazing.
Slowbro ability of no crits just makes it one of the most tear jerking sets in oras.

Conclusion
HEAT! I just make this team burst into flames [:
Haha, all jokes aside please use scotti's suggestions and just use mine when u wanna make someone quit mons [:
I wish you massive success buddy and hope you take my changes into consideration.

Holy my god that slowking build must be your mixtape because when you say heat, i see fire. That literally looks like cancer and I hate clefable and it's so beautiful and imma make that to put in on the side when i want to ruin children's lives. What situation are you using iron defense in on mslowbro

vs sd Bisharp, sd lando t, sd charizard x, and sd excadrill to name a few.

The problem with this is every threat you listed you'd either force out or fish for burns most of the time. And there is no way slowbro is setting IDs on MegazadX.

So either run Psyshock to win CM wars, Thunderwave to slow stuff down for the rest of your team, or run Rest and Sleep Talk so status moves don't stop you from scald spamming.EVs: 252 HP / 80 Def / 176 SpD

Garchomp should run EVs as 248 HP / 164 Def / 72 SpD / 16 Spe with a moveset of Earthquake, Dragon Tail, Stealth Rock, and Endure with your nature being - SpA, +SpD Change its Item to Rocky Helmet.

For the fairy problem use Costi 's Ammongus set above.

Heatran looks perfect here as a stall breaker with access to Magma Storm, Earth Power, Taunt and either Solarbeam, Will-o-Wisp or Toxic Run Max SpA and Spe Timid nature with powerherb if you chose solarbeam, Leftovers if not.

Sylveon should be the standard clerical set with wish, protect, Hyper Voice and Heal Bell or Change it to a Clefable running the same moves as described.

Lastly I feel like you need Hazard Removal and a ground check as well as an answer to Mega Gardevoir so 248 HP / 252 SpD / 8 Def Skarmory running a -SpA, +SpD nature. Make the moveset Iron Head, Roost, Defog and Whirlwind with Shed Shell as your item.
