Hey guys! This is my first RMT, and I'm really looking forward to it. Enjoy!
Teambuilding Process
The first thing I thought of when I was making this team was Lopunny. Wait, no. Even better. Mega Lopunny. It has a wide moveset with strong moves such as High Jump Kick, which works well with its high attack stat and speed.
I then wanted another Physical Sweeper, one that could potentially be scarfed. I chose Staraptor. It was fast, had high attack, just like Lopunny, and had a wide movepool, allowing me to KO Pokemon with diverse typings.
I stopped for a while, and realised that I needed some defence in my team. Also, Chansey is incredibly bulky when it has Eviolite, so it's quite significant in my team (that is, until its Eviolite is removed!).
I chose Porygon2 as another wall, but the different between Chansey and Porygon2 was that Porygon2 had a decent Special Attack stat so it could also deal some damage as well as stall for a few turns.
Diggersby was my next choice. It has a somewhat decent attack stat, and I thought it would be used as a wall until I realised that it had the ability Huge Power and I could give it Life Orb to allow it to deal more damage.
A special sweeper was crucial and Meloetta fit the spot perfectly.
The Team:
Lopunny-Mega @ Lopunnite
Ability: Scrappy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
-
Fake Out
-
High Jump Kick
-
Return
-
Ice Punch
Lopunny is the main Pokemon in my team, and I try to send it out towards the middle of the battle because a) I need to set up traps first and b) most people would predict that I would send it out first anyway. Fake Out allows it to cause the enemy to flinch, and luckily, Scrappy means that I can use this move on nasty Ghost Types too. High Jump Kick is my main STAB move which I heavily rely on. Ice Punch is there to deal damage against Flying Types that try to knock out Lopunny. I invested my EVs in Attack and Speed because I need Lopunny to outspeed threats such as Scarfed Staraptor.
Chansey @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
-
Seismic Toss
-
Soft-Boiled
-
Stealth Rock
-
Heal Bell
Chansey is my lead - Stealth Rock is crucial as it allows the opponent's Pokemon to take damage upon being sent into battle. This also annuls the effect of Focus Sash and Sturdy which is useful. Soft Boiled is there to regain health and to stall the match for a few turns. I gave Chansey Seismic Toss so that it is able to deal damage against Pokemon that haven't got access to Knock Off (to remove the Eviolite). Heal Bell removes any status effects (most commonly Burn and Toxic on stronger mons) from my team, and is useful as the game goes on.
Staraptor @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Reckless
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
-
Brave Bird
-
Close Combat
-
U-turn
-
Double-Edge
Staraptor, alongside Lopunny-Mega, is one of the main sweepers of my team.
252 Atk Reckless Staraptor Brave Bird vs. 232 HP / 0 Def Mega Venusaur: 372-440 (103.6 - 122.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
Choice Scarf allows it to outspeed Pokemon like Weavile. Reckless boosts the power of moves that have recoil which means that Brave Bird and Double-Edge are able to deal quite a lot of damage. Brave Bird is very useful against Fighting Types, and, unless outsped by the odd Pokemon, can help sweep an entire team. U-Turn is there to switch out, if needed, and Close Combat deals with annoying Ice Types, and Tyranitar. Like Lopunny, I invested the EVs in Attack and Speed to really make sure it doesn't get outsped, and so that it is able to deal a lot of damage.
Porygon2 @ Eviolite
Ability: Trace
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
-
Recover
-
Ice Beam
-
Discharge
-
Thunder Wave
Porygon2 is another one of my walls, but has access to a wider and somewhat better movepool than Chansey, with attacks such as Signal Beam and Foul Play. I gave it Recover so that it can regain health and stays in battle longer, and Thunder Wave to slow down the enemy, and get the occasional "Para Hax" if I'm lucky. Discharge and Ice Beam are both moves that allow Porygon2 to attack several different types of Pokemon such as Garchomp or Manaphy, and still survive after a hit or two. The EVs are invested in HP and SpD to allow it to take more hits than usual.
Diggersby @ Choice Band
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpA
Lonely Nature
-
Earth Power
-
Quick Attack
-
Return
-
Wild Charge
Huge Power and Choice Band. That's all I have to say. Choice Band increases the Attack Stat by 50%, Huge Power doubles it, and the EV investments in Attack make sure that Diggersby is able to deal as much damage as it could possibly can. Wild Charge is a ridiculously strong move which is helpful against pesty Water Types such as Alomomola or Manaphy, and Quick Attack is there for it to deal quick damage and finish off a mon with less HP. Return and Earth Power both have STAB which means a lot of damage dealt.
Meloetta @ Choice Specs
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD
Modest Nature
-
Focus Blast
-
Psyshock
-
Hyper Voice
-
Shadow Ball
Meloetta has a great Special Attack stat and Choice Specs means it can deal more damage with Special moves. Focus Blast is there to deal with Normal Types, and Dark Types that try to threaten Meloetta with Dark Pulse or Crunch. Psyshock has STAB which is useful against Flying Types such as Conkeldurr. Hyper Voice is a great move with high BP - this will 2HKO a mon such as Aerodactyl.
252 SpA Choice Specs Meloetta Psychic vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Aerodactyl: 277-327 (92 - 108.6%) -- 50% chance to OHKO
Threats
-
Flying Types such as Staraptor.
-
Any Pokemon with access to Knock Off with good attack stat such as Weavile
-
Hoopa-U and other strong Psychic Types. Lopunny doesn't have the best Special Defence, and if outsped, could get KO'ed by Hyperspace Hole
-
Swampert Mega: Swampert has access to some strong Water Type moves such as Hydro Pump and this could KO Diggersby since Wild Charge has no effect on Ground Types.

Thanks for reading my RMT. I spent 3 hours writing it up and editing it so you can imagine the amount of hard work and effort I put into it. If there are any requirements that I have not met, I apologise and I'll try to correct them. If I've missed something out, just tell me. Thanks!
