Teambuilding Process

lopunny.png

The first thing I thought of when I was making this team was Lopunny. Wait, no. Even better. Mega Lopunny. It has a wide moveset with strong moves such as High Jump Kick, which works well with its high attack stat and speed.
lopunny.png
staraptor.png

I then wanted another Physical Sweeper, one that could potentially be scarfed. I chose Staraptor. It was fast, had high attack, just like Lopunny, and had a wide movepool, allowing me to KO Pokemon with diverse typings.
lopunny.png
staraptor.png
chansey.png

I stopped for a while, and realised that I needed some defence in my team. Also, Chansey is incredibly bulky when it has Eviolite, so it's quite significant in my team (that is, until its Eviolite is removed!).
lopunny.png

porygon2.png

I chose Porygon2 as another wall, but the different between Chansey and Porygon2 was that Porygon2 had a decent Special Attack stat so it could also deal some damage as well as stall for a few turns.

diggersby.png

Diggersby was my next choice. It has a somewhat decent attack stat, and I thought it would be used as a wall until I realised that it had the ability Huge Power and I could give it Life Orb to allow it to deal more damage.

A special sweeper was crucial and Meloetta fit the spot perfectly.

Ice Punch

Lopunny is the main Pokemon in my team, and I try to send it out towards the middle of the battle because a) I need to set up traps first and b) most people would predict that I would send it out first anyway. Fake Out allows it to cause the enemy to flinch, and luckily, Scrappy means that I can use this move on nasty Ghost Types too. High Jump Kick is my main STAB move which I heavily rely on. Ice Punch is there to deal damage against Flying Types that try to knock out Lopunny. I invested my EVs in Attack and Speed because I need Lopunny to outspeed threats such as Scarfed Staraptor.

Chansey is my lead - Stealth Rock is crucial as it allows the opponent's Pokemon to take damage upon being sent into battle. This also annuls the effect of Focus Sash and Sturdy which is useful. Soft Boiled is there to regain health and to stall the match for a few turns. I gave Chansey Seismic Toss so that it is able to deal damage against Pokemon that haven't got access to Knock Off (to remove the Eviolite). Heal Bell removes any status effects (most commonly Burn and Toxic on stronger mons) from my team, and is useful as the game goes on.

Staraptor, alongside Lopunny-Mega, is one of the main sweepers of my team.

252 Atk Reckless Staraptor Brave Bird vs. 232 HP / 0 Def Mega Venusaur: 372-440 (103.6 - 122.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Choice Scarf allows it to outspeed Pokemon like Weavile. Reckless boosts the power of moves that have recoil which means that Brave Bird and Double-Edge are able to deal quite a lot of damage. Brave Bird is very useful against Fighting Types, and, unless outsped by the odd Pokemon, can help sweep an entire team. U-Turn is there to switch out, if needed, and Close Combat deals with annoying Ice Types, and Tyranitar. Like Lopunny, I invested the EVs in Attack and Speed to really make sure it doesn't get outsped, and so that it is able to deal a lot of damage.

Porygon2 is another one of my walls, but has access to a wider and somewhat better movepool than Chansey, with attacks such as Signal Beam and Foul Play. I gave it Recover so that it can regain health and stays in battle longer, and Thunder Wave to slow down the enemy, and get the occasional "Para Hax" if I'm lucky. Discharge and Ice Beam are both moves that allow Porygon2 to attack several different types of Pokemon such as Garchomp or Manaphy, and still survive after a hit or two. The EVs are invested in HP and SpD to allow it to take more hits than usual.

Wild Charge

Huge Power and Choice Band. That's all I have to say. Choice Band increases the Attack Stat by 50%, Huge Power doubles it, and the EV investments in Attack make sure that Diggersby is able to deal as much damage as it could possibly can. Wild Charge is a ridiculously strong move which is helpful against pesty Water Types such as Alomomola or Manaphy, and Quick Attack is there for it to deal quick damage and finish off a mon with less HP. Return and Earth Power both have STAB which means a lot of damage dealt.

Meloetta has a great Special Attack stat and Choice Specs means it can deal more damage with Special moves. Focus Blast is there to deal with Normal Types, and Dark Types that try to threaten Meloetta with Dark Pulse or Crunch. Psyshock has STAB which is useful against Flying Types such as Conkeldurr. Hyper Voice is a great move with high BP - this will 2HKO a mon such as Aerodactyl.

252 SpA Choice Specs Meloetta Psychic vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Aerodactyl: 277-327 (92 - 108.6%) -- 50% chance to OHKO

Thanks for reading my RMT. I spent 3 hours writing it up and editing it so you can imagine the amount of hard work and effort I put into it. If there are any requirements that I have not met, I apologise and I'll try to correct them. If I've missed something out, just tell me. Thanks!

This is a really nicely set out rmt, and it looks good and generic but I'd just recomend really strongly earthquake> earth power on diggersby cause with band and huge power earthquake does FAR more damage than earth power, like earth power will do jack damage to evrything While eq does way more.

Nicely formatted RMT, but I would go Thunderbolt>>>Discharge on Porygon2 because Thunderbolt is stronger, allowing you to deal more damage. Discharge may have 30% chance to Paralyze, but if you really wanted to Paralyze them you could just T-Wave them. Just a slight change, but I couldn't think of much else that was wrong :P. Really nice job.

I disagree actually, 1st off, its only 10 more base power, which isn't a lot, and I think 30% para is a whole lot better, especially on a wall.

Used this team! Amazing, just Toxic > Twave on pory2 and ur fine, but personally id also use Energy ball > Hyper Voice just for some water coverage aswell

Hey Tutee! Standard looking team there, but I'd definitely change some stuff up! Elaborating off of KGBeast because he didn't really suggest new moves.

You definitely do not need ice punch on loppuny, p2 runs ice beam which is more than enough. As a result, I would recommend PuP/Encore>Ice Punch. These are very useful moves for lopunny. You can PuP to increase your attack or encore to lock your opponent into moves such as rocks, set up moves, etc and proceed to hit them with hard attacks.
Now, I notice that you have a fighting problem. Staraptor can handle most physical fighting mons with the proper set.
Staraptor @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 240 Def / 20 Spe
Impish Nature
- Brave Bird
- Roost
- Defog
- Feather Dance/Toxic/Close Combat
Defensive raptor is actually very useful to normal teams and can switch in to many physical moves.
-1 252 Atk Terrakion Close Combat vs. 248 HP / 240+ Def Staraptor: 118-141 (31.6 - 37.8%) -- 90.4% chance to 3HKO
-1 252 Atk Mega Lopunny High Jump Kick vs. 248 HP / 240+ Def Staraptor: 135-159 (36.1 - 42.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
-1 252 Atk Heracross Close Combat vs. 248 HP / 240+ Def Staraptor: 117-138 (31.3 - 36.9%) -- 75.2% chance to 3HKO etc
You also don't necessarily need it as an offensive mon because your offensive core is pretty solid already (Lop, Meloetta, Diggers)
Porygon2 also utilizes its defensive stats with eviolite best with 252+ Def because it switches into so many moves reliably. I'd also change Toxic>Thunder Wave because discharge usually serves as sufficient paralysis and toxic cripples walls and if you manage to land on an offensive mon you can recover spam.
Lastly, I'd change both diggersby AND meloetta to 252 Spe so they can outspeed common mons and still deal damage.

I wanna say thanks to dusk raimon, Lax, Seo~, KGBeast and Stunfisk The Great for the help! Thanks so much guys! :D
Even if you want to keep no speed on Diggersby(which you shouldn't) there is no need on 8 SpA and Lonely nature.
you only lose defense for nothing lol

Hey, nice team there. Although I'd make a few changes to it.
1. Switch Heal Bell out on Chansey for Thunder Wave

2. Run enough speed on Meloetta to creep positive base 80s like loom and Bisharp
Meloetta @ Choice Specs
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 64 HP / 252 SpA / 192 Spe
Modest Nature

- Shadow Ball
3. Go with max Speed on Diggersby instead of bulky since it won't let you live what you need to anyway

4. Switch Thunder Wave out on Porygon2 for Toxic since you already have Discharge. Also change it to physical defensive instead of special defensive since you already have Meloetta and Chansey.

Other than that everything seems fine. Good luck with the team!
