Oh god, my throat...haven't done this in a while. Either way, good afternoon, ASB fans! We've got a relatively simple battle today between two veterans, Mowtom and YellowAdminSilver ! Let's review the rules before we get started:

And without further ado, our contenders!

TEAM MOWTOM

Necturna [Groot] (F)

Groot is Groot. Everyone knows this. Or rather, everyone knows that Groot wants to be Groot. Unfortunately for her, she is both the wrong gender and the wrong species. This...hasn't stopped Groot from screaming her name loudly. For all to hear. All the time. ALL. THE. TIME. *eye twitch*

Type: Grass / Ghost
  • Grass STAB; immunity to Leech Seed, Worry Seed, and all "Powder" based attacks (Poisonpowder, Powder, Rage Powder, Sleep Powder, Spore, Stun Spore). Unable to have Petal Dance disrupted by oncoming damage. Ignores Arena restrictions on Grass attacks requiring an external grass source. Bloom Command.
    • Bloom Command: For the next six (6) actions, this Pokemon's "Grass," "Powder," and "Seed" status-moves will have fifteen (15) added points to their Base Accuracy (e.g. Grass Whistle goes from 55 Base Acc to 70 Base Acc). Type Exclusive commands can only be used by Pokemon that are naturally that type, and are still available if the Pokemon changes type.
      Command Type: Type Exclusive | Accuracy: -- | Energy Cost: 5 | Priority: 0 | CT: None
  • Ghost STAB; immune to the effects of full trapping moves and the Arena Trap, Magnet Pull, and Shadow Tag abilities. Ghost types can switch out while affected by a partial trapping move, but they will be damaged every action by their effect.
Abilities: Forewarn / Telepathy (Unlocked)
  • This Pokemon is more adept than usual at sensing and reacting to the opponent's attacks. As a result, it gets a bonus move substitution that must have a condition in the format "If Pokemon X uses move Y", with no further qualifiers or additional clauses allowed. This bonus substitution may go anywhere in the list of substitutions the Pokemon makes, but it must be indicated with "Bonus" or "Bonus Sub" or something similar in front of the bonus substitution.
  • This Pokemon has a mental link with its allies in multiple battles, which allows it to avoid taking damage from allied attacks that damage each foe or the entire field like Blizzard and Earthquake. They are still affected by an opponent's spread damage attacks.

Kecleon [Renald] (M)

Renald is a great musician. You name the instrument, he can play it. He's been invited to perform in the Pokeharmonic Orchestra, but declined so he could spend more time pursuing other interests. His best friend, Renald, and his children, Raymond, Raymond, and Raymond, were all very supportive of his decision. His true dream, though, is to be a tour guide.

Type: Normal
  • Normal STAB; +1 BAP on attacks that match dominant arena type after 3 actions. Unable to have Thrash or Outrage disrupted by oncoming damage.
Abilities: Color Change / Protean (Unlocked)
  • A Pokemon with this ability can change its type to that of any attack that has damaged it within the past three (3) actions. It can remain as that type for the duration of the battle, or use Color Change again to change type. When Kecleon uses Camouflage to change its type, its entire body changes color, giving it a one (1) stage boost in evasion. This effect lasts for six (6) actions. Subsequent uses of Camouflage refresh this effect.
    • Command: Activate Color Change - 5 En - Changes the user's type to match that of an attack that has damaged the user.
  • By default, this Pokemon switches their type before striking with each damaging attack to match the attack they are about to use, and keep that type until another damaging move is used. The energy cost for the attack is calculated based on their type before using the move. When toggled, the Pokemon reverts back to their natural typing. Pokemon that also have Color Change ability may select whether to keep their current type or the damaging attack's type each action.

Honchkrow [Blackwing] (M)

One of Blackwing's ancestors lived in a world very different from this one. A world where everything was decided by a die roll, and humans could become as powerful as any other species, even using magic themselves. Blackwing doesn't know this, though; his attention wandered to the nearest shiny object each time it was explained to him.

Type: Dark / Flying
  • Dark STAB; ignores Attract and Confusion status entirely when using Dark-type damaging and non-damaging attacks.
  • Flying STAB; immunity to Ground attacks and the Arena Trap Ability except under the effects of Smack Down and Gravity, even for ground-based flying Pokemon. Will always hit foes with Dig (except other Flying types) and Dive. Cannot be hit by Dive unless the attacking Pokemon has a size class greater than four (4). Unaffected by Spikes or Toxic Spikes. when switching in. Able to hit Pokemon in the evasive stage of Bounce, Fly or Sky Drop with single target moves that hit Pokemon on the field regardless of position.
Abilities: Insomnia / Super Luck / Moxie (Unlocked)
  • This Pokemon is immune to sleep induced by other Pokemon. Its normal state of sleeplessness makes it take 1 less damage and energy/action from Ghost Curse. If it is put to sleep by a Pokemon with Mold Breaker, it will wake up the next action. If a Pokemon with Insomnia also has Vital Spirit, its Attack and BRT are increased by one (1) Rank and its accuracy is raised by one (1) stage permanently.
  • This Pokemon's natural skill increases its critical hit levels one stage above other Pokemon, making its normal moves inflict critical hits 12.5% of the time and its high critical hit moves inflict critical hits 50% of the time.
  • This Pokemon gets psyched after it earns a KO on an opposing Pokemon, increasing its Attack (and adjust the natural stage) by one (1) stage.

Eh? What's that? Our commentary got cut off last time? That's a shame, there was a lot of action last round. Oh well, onto this one! Alina the Aurumoth and Blackwing the Honchkrow are both pretty rough for wear going into this round, but Minerva the Honchkrow and Renald the Kecleon are doing just fine (ignoring the freeze of course)!

Alina kicks this round off by summoning another Thunder attack from the skies above to strike Blackwing! This situation looks a bit familiar for the Honchkrow, doesn't it? Good thing he has Kalut the Moonshadow to--wait, wrong game? Wrong game. The Honchkrow on the other side unleashes an arid wave of heat that washes over her foes, roasting Blackwing and KO'ing him! Minerva's Moxie ability pumps her ego up in the process, increasing her Attack stat! Renald doesn't seem too fazed by it, though. Being Fire-type from last round seems to be working really well for him, despite being frozen. Speaking of being frozen, guess who isn't any longer? That's right! Changing to a rocky brown color, Renald calls ancient powers from the earth to strike Alina, hitting cleanly for super-effective damage! That bug is tenacious, though, and not quite out of the game just yet.

She's going to get another round of freebies, though, as Minerva shields the bug with a protective barrier! Renald expected this, though, and thanks to some crafty ordering by his trainer, switches targets, turning an icy blue and shooting an Ice Beam attack at Minerva! While it doesn't have the same freezing power as Alina's Blizzard last round, it does some great damage to the otherwise-unharmed bird. But, something tells me Renald isn't getting out of this easily--I was right! During the time Minerva had bought her, Alina had been readying a devastating mega attack! Combining Close Combat with itself gives Alina massive power; folding her wings toward her body, she becomes an aerodynamic bullet as she catches Renald from the flank, and, with a bit of spin, crashes into him, carrying him to the wall and nearly drilling straight through the concrete! After such an attack, the bug's defenses drop sharply, and she's forced into a recuperative state.

Renald refuses to give up, though; he'd rather go out swinging. And he does, if by "swinging" you mean "throwing magic rocks". The Ancient Power attack KO's Alina with ease, with a sharp defense drop and super-effective damage sealing the deal for the psychic bug. The Kecleon holds on, but after looking up to the sky, he looks like he's doubting himself. Far, far up into the air, Minerva had been charging a Sky Attack. But, it wasn't just any Sky Attack, it was the Sky Attack to end all Sky Attacks. The crowds are blinded by the excessive, powerful light coming from Minerva! Then, she starts a dive bomb, from so high up we can't even see it from the casting box, at least I think that's what--

***BOOM***
...Hello? Is anyone there? I think the dust is starting to clear...wow, what an attack! I'm really glad we installed those safety shields around the stadium seats. Minerva struck the arena with so much force she left a sizable crater at the site of the impact. She's left in a cooldown state from the sheer scale of that attack, and Renald...well...he's there, but we may need to get him to the Pokemon Center, fast. Send in the paramedics, this battle is over!
