This is a team I've been using in AG for a while. I play OU every now and again, but I mostly play on AG.
Nidoking is my Ace Monster as has been in every Pokemon team I've ever tried to create. Each Warrior had been chosen by years of trial and error, which the only requirement being to fight the best with the King. Hence, my Team the King's Warrior's.
Dragon Slayer Dedenne (M) @ Starf Berry
Ability: Cheek Pouch
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Nuzzle
- Grass Knot
- Super Fang
- Volt Switch
I will never think this stupid rat thing would be good. Let alone a monster I sent out to destroy Mega Rayquaza's. I caught a Shiny one back in Pokemon X, and I always wanted to use it in the completive scene. It wasn't until the Pokemon World Championship 2014 when a Pachirisu won, that I was able to see some potential in this rat. That and I have 5 Warrior's and I was having a hard time finding a 6th Warrior.
It's an Electric/Fairy. Having an Immunity to dragon's and Outrage is great. Apart from that is stat's are nothing useful, will get OK with any hit (that isn't dragon). However, with it's Cheek Pouch along with the Starf Berry. If Dedenne does survive an attack, the extra HP and random stat increase, ensure's he mostly likely will survive another attack.
It's Modest Nature and EV's makes sure I'm giving out as much damage as possible. Dedenne is also my faster's warrior.
I tend to send Dedenne out first. Nuzzle cribbling's the enemy, and the it's Grass Knot or Super Fang, whatever will do the most damage. Volt Switch is there to keep Dedenne alive, so I can send it out again, and go for another nuzzle or Super Fang, making it an effective ParaShuffler. Grass Knot is great against Rock types.
While there are more powerful, faster and better Electric type's. The Fairy typing gives Dedenne the name Dragon Slayer. Nuzzle and Super Fang are such a good combo, that only the rat's can use.
Dragon of Love Kairyu (Dragonite) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Roost
- Ice Punch
- Extreme Speed
- Thunder Wave
I was on the Internet one day and typed in most annoying Pokemon set's to deal with, and ran across an article about a Dragonite.
http://www.smogon.com/smog/issue23/annoying_sets
I thought of how fun would it be to use on of these, and I decide to see how good this Dragonite really is. I did enjoy the set quite a bit and changed it slightly.
The Following is taken from the above article as it applies to my monster, just with Substitute and Dragon Tail, cut out.
When people think about annoying Pokémon, for a lot of them Dragonite would probably never even cross their mind. This is probably because Dragonite is most known for running powerful offensive sets like Dragon Dance, Choice Band, and Rain Tank. However, with Multiscale halving, the amount of damage Dragonite takes at full health. Dragonite has the tools necessary to become a horribly annoying Pokémon by running a "ParaShuffler" set. With Multiscale and max HP and SpD investment, Dragonite can start using Thunder Wave to cripple the opposition. With a Water-type resistance, Dragonite can really harm the very common rain teams that are roaming around. It's the set's unpredictability that makes it really dangerous, because Dragonite is able to run many different sets, and often a support set is the last thing people expect to see from the strong dragon.
Instead of Substitute and Dragon Tail. I went with Extreme Speed as I need to deal damage, and a Priority move is really nice on any team, Roost heal's enough damage I don't need more armour if I can't kill anything. The Set came out in Gen 5, and in Gen 6 with have Fairy's which break's this set. So I went with Ice Punch, And the fact I did not need a great ParaShuffler, As I already have Dedenne.
I could replace Ice Punch, with any attacking move, Not sure which move, however. It's called Dragon of Love because it convert's my opponents hatred and annoyance into love.
Avalanche Crebase Exia (Avalugg) (M) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Relaxed Nature
- Roar
- Recover
- Mirror Coat
- Rest
You know what I need on my team, something to take physical attack's. Look this thing has 513, defence.. but' it's an ice type the worst type in the game, but.. 513 defence!! Like, what can that possibly do? Ice types may be bad, but they have high stats for a reason.
What Pokemon does this thing beat?
Kangaskhan - Use Recover and it's Dead
Talonflame - Whoever told you fire beat's ice was wrong. Flare Blitz + Life Orb does nothing. Use Recover and it's Dead.
Mawile - Recover and it's Dead.
Physical Attack's can't break this wall, combine with Rocky Helmet and Recover.
You have a Special Attack monster.
Alright.. I used Mirror Coat + Sturdy
You have a Status monster.
Alright... I use Rest
You have a Stat's increased monster.
Alright... I use Roar
I have 1 HP left.
I'll use Rest, on a Pokemon that Kairyu or Dedenne has Paralysed.
You have a Mixed Attacker
... I have trouble dealing with them
Apart from Mixed Attacker, Avalanche Crebase Exia can beat pretty much anything, on a one on one fight. Losing's it's Rocky Helmet, then it can't do anything. I gave it the name Avalanche Crebase Exia based off the GN-001/hs-A01 Gundam Avalanche Exia. As it's Counter's everything it touches. As as the same weakness the Exia has.
Note: Yes, I am over extradition how powerful this monster is, however, Avalugg does require a lot of skill and prediction. But It's well worth using.
The Great Kabaldon (Hippowdon) (M) @ Passho Berry
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Bulldoze
- Stealth Rock
- Whirlwind
- Slack Off
This is the Oldest Warrior on the team. My very first team was a sandstorm team. Only Nidoking and Hippowdon are from the very same team. I made it cause I wanted to make a weather team, and I figured sand would be cool. However Gen 6 came along and it got nerfed hard to 4 turn's. So I need a way to make the most of the sand I had that monster was Yuradle the Cradily which I'll get to later.
It's job as a warrior is simply throw sand at the enemy. Stealth Rock + Whirlwind + SandStrom are the supply, of damage.
It's EV's and nature and there to keep alive, Passho Berry means I'm able to survive one water type attack.
I went with Bulldoze over Earthquake, as the extra damage isn't that much, and just being able to slow down your opponent combine with Slack Off. Means my opponent will switch out with those Rock's on the field, giving me a free Whirlwind.
It's called Great Kabaldon, because it's Great.
Monster Eather Yuradle (Cradily) (F) @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Storm Drain
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Toxic
- Recover
- Mirror Coat
- Giga Drain
I need a Warrior that could make use of the 4 turns of sand. I was on Showdown one day, as I was trying out this Cradily, due to it's Rock typing. I lose the battle and was thinking of another monster to use instead. When my opponent gave me a Cradily set, and it's good.
It's Pokedex entry from Y and FRLG is this
It ensnares prey with its eight tentacles. It then melts the prey with a strong acid before feeding.
The entry describes what this Cradily does.
It's a Toxic Special Defence Wall. Mirror Coat and Giga Drain are the damaging moves.
I went with the Sitrus Berry as a huge chunk of HP, means I should survive another attack, dealing more poison damage.
Water types are nothing to Yuradle.
Legend of Daiku-Maryu Gaiking (Nidoking) @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Poison Jab
- Earth Power
- Ice Beam
- Fire Blast
My Ace Monster, the Queen on the Chessboard and the King. My favourite Pokemon growing up. This is Nidoking. The Legend of Daiku-Maryu Gaiking, because why not.
6 vs 1, and I have Nidoking. Then I win. All I need to do is cripple Monster's faster than Nidoking with Paralysed. While everyone else takes down anything Nidoking can't beat in one shot. It's a Mixed Attacker, so wall's aren't a big problem.
It's EV's and Nature are there to make sure it can sweep, the entire team. Poison typing gets rid of Toxic Spikes. While It's not a Mega, I don't need one with Nidoking.
Nidoking is my Ace Monster as has been in every Pokemon team I've ever tried to create. Each Warrior had been chosen by years of trial and error, which the only requirement being to fight the best with the King. Hence, my Team the King's Warrior's.
