[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========
- Hyper Voice is a strong spread STAB move that gets boosted by Pixilate as well
- Psyshock and Psychic hit Poison-types such as Gengar and Amoonguss that would take less damage from Hyper Voice
- Mega Gardevoir can use Hidden Power Ground to deal damage to Steel-types, most notably Heatran
- Focus Blast can also be used to hit Steel-types super effectively, most notably Ferrothorn which normally wouldn't take much damage from your other attacks. You deal with Mega Kangaskhan as well.
- Mega Gardevoir is also an okay Trick Room setter, being able to deal heavy damage, as well as checking other Pokemon such as Amoonguss which normally would be threatening in Trick Room.
- Protect is a staple move in Doubles that is used to stall out field conditions such as Sun, or to protect yourself from taking damage while your partners deal with the threat

Set Details
========
- Gardevoirite allows it to Mega evolve
- Trace allows you to switch in on Intimidate users such as Landorus-Therian and Scrafty and use the Intimidate against them so they'll do less damage. It is also useful for facing weather teams, if it traces Chlorophyll from Venusaur or Swift Swim from Kingdra or Ludicolo Gardevoir will be fast on its first turn out.
- Telepathy allows Gardevoir to switch into Earthquakes from your own Landorus-Therian.
- Modest allows it to deal more damage, whilst Timid allows it to outspeed neutral-natured base 100s such as Mega-Kangaskhan, as well as outspeeding any non-Choice Scarf Landorus-Therian.
- The given EVs allow Mega Gardevoir to live a Life Orb Talonflame Brave Bird, an Aegislash Shadow Ball and Flash Cannon, while also outspeeding 252 Breloom. The rest is put into Special Attack.
- If using Icy Wind support on the team, Mega Gardevoir can also outspeed Landorus-Therian
- If using Trick Room, 240 HP / 16 Def / 252 SpA with a Quiet Nature is much more effective as it allows Mega Gardevoir to live a Life Orb Talonflame Brave Bird, and maximizing Special Attack.

Usage Tips
========
- Mega Gardevoir can be used both in the early game to heavily dent your opponent, or in the late game where it can clean up teams by spamming Hyper Voice after all the checks are gone
- As Mega Gardevoir gains 20 extra base Speed upon Mega evolution, it often needs to Protect turn 1 to gain the speed advantage.
- If a potential Wide Guard user such as Conkeldurr is on the field, and it can get a KO with either Hyper Voice or its Psychic STAB-move, use the non-spread move.

Team Options
========
- Pokemon that can get rid of Steel-types such as Heatran and Talonflame are good partners for Mega Gardevoir, as it has difficulties dealing damage to Steel-types.
- Pokemon with Tailwind such as Talonflame or Zapdos are good because Mega Gardevoir doesn't have to fear taking damage from faster threats if Tailwind is up.
- Jirachi is a strong redirector because it can redirect Returns from Mega Kangaskhan as well as Steel-typed attacks such as Iron Head from Mega Metagross, or other heavy attacks such as Return from Mega Kangaskhan, as Jirachi doesn't take as much damage from this while these attacks threaten Mega Gardevoir.
- Amoonguss is also a strong partner for Mega Gardevoir as combined with Trick Room, Amoonguss can easily Spore threats and give free turns for Gardevoir to spam Hyper Voice
- Feint users such as Weavile, Infernape, and Chesnaught are good partners as it can break Wide Guard, which allows Mega Gardevoir to use Hyper Voice more easily.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
- Shadow Ball can also be used to hit opposing Psychic-types such as other Mega Gardevoir, but also to deal damage to Aegislash which normally would also take no damage from Focus Blast.
- Mega Gardevoir can use Substitute to protect itself from status moves such as Thunder Wave from Thundurus as well as becoming an extremely scary threat to break.
- Ally Switch can be used to catch the opponent offguard, and put your partner in safety.
- Taunt can be used to disrupt Trick Room setters such as Cresselia and Reuniclus from setting up Trick Room
- Will-O-Wisp cripples physical attackers such as Mega Kangaskhan and Landorus-Therian
- Encore cripples Pokemon such as Aegislash or Heatran, locking them into King's Shield and Substitute, respectively. It can also cripple Protect users by locking them into it.
- Imprison prevents the opponent from using Protect as well as opposing Hyper Voice users such as Sylveon. It is fairly niche but works well if there is no Sylveon or Mega Gardevoir switch in on the team.

Checks and Counters
===================
**Typing Advantage**: Mega Gardevoir has a lot of trouble dealing damage to Steel-types such as Aegislash as they can easily switch in and take little damage from Hyper Voice. Fire-types also deal with Mega Gardevoir. Especially Mega Charizard Y and Victini are strong picks because they have high Special Defense and Attack, respectively.

**Speed**: Mega Gardevoir has a lot of trouble with Pokemon that outspeed it, especially faster Pokemon such as Mega Metagross and Landorus-Therian. Mega Gardevoir also struggles with priority users such as Bullet Punch Mega Metagross or Brave Bird Talonflame

**Strong Physical Attackers**: Due to Mega Gardevoirs low base Defense, attacks such as Mega Kangaskhan Return or Landorus-Therian Earthquake will KO it.

[OVERVIEW]
Mega Gardevoir is a good choice for a special attacker, considering its good speed tier and special attacks, which allows it to make good use of its strong STAB attacks, Hyper Voice and Psyshock. It has a wide movepool consisting out of a bunch of utility and coverage moves, making it a very versatile attacker. Its ability, Pixilate, allows it to spam Hyper Voices easily. Despite having a good speed tier in its Mega forme, before Mega evolution Gardevoir hits a subpar speed. Mega Gardevoir also has a tough time breaking Steel-types with its STABs. Also, Mega Gardevoir is physically extremely frail, can't really switch in to anything, and provides basically no defensive value.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========
Hyper Voice is a very spammable move, as it is a spread move which gets boosted by Mega Gardevoir's Pixilate. Psychic and Psyshock hit Poison-types such as Gengar and Amoonguss, which normally would resist Hyper Voice. Mega Gardevoir has a lot of other coverage moves, such as Hidden Power Ground, which can deal a lot of damage to Steel-types, Heatran in particular. A different move to hit Steel-types could be Focus Blast, which also deals heavy damage, to Ferrothorn in particular, but is held back by its shaky accuracy. Focus Blast also has a big chance to OHKO Mega Kangaskhan with full investment, so Timid can't do this. Mega Gardevoir is also an okay Trick Room setter. It is very frail, but inside of Trick Room it can deal massive amounts of damage with easily spammable Hyper Voices. Lastly Protect, which is a staple move in Doubles that is used to stall out field conditions such as weather, or to protect yourself from taking damage while your partners deals with the threat.

Set Details
========
Mega Gardevoir carries Gardevoirite, which is necessary for Mega evolution. Trace allows you to obtain a random ability from the opposing two Pokemon, which can be quite disruptive to the opponent. You could Trace a Landorus-T's Intimidate, or speed boosting abilities such as Chlorophyll from Venusaur, Swift Swim from Kingdra and Ludicolo, or Speed Boost from Blaziken. Telepathy allows it to switch in and even attack alongside partners using spread moves that attack allies as well, such as Landorus-T's Earthquake. However, Trace is more commonly useful. A Modest nature allows Mega Gardevoir to deal more damage, whilst a Timid nature allows it to outspeed neutral-natured base 100s such as Mega-Kangaskhan, as well as outspeeding any non-Choice Scarf variants of Landorus-T. However, if you choose for a Timid nature, you should use 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 HP, as that allows it to be faster. The given EVs, which are for a Modest nature, allow Mega Gardevoir to live a Life Orb Talonfame Brave Bird and an Aegislash Shadow Ball and Flash Cannon, while also outspeeding Jolly Breloom. If using Trick Room, it is better to use 240 HP / 16 Def / 252 SpA with a Quiet Nature, as this allows Gardevoir to take more hits in general. This still lives Talonflame's Brave Bird and Aegislash' Shadow Ball and Flash Cannon.

Usage Tips
========
Mega Gardevoir can be used in the early game to heavily dent the opponents team, but it is also useful in the late game as a cleaner, as it can easily spam Hyper Voice after all the checks are gone. As Mega Gardevoir gains 20 base speed upon Mega evolution, it often needs to Protect on the first turn it is out on the field to gain a speed advantage. If a potential Wide Guard user such as Conkeldurr is on the field, and Mega Gardevoir can get a KO with either Hyper Voice or its Psychic STAB, use the Psychic STAB.

Team Options
========
As Mega Gardevoir struggles with dealing damage against Steel-types, Fire-types that can get rid of them such as Heatran and Talonflame are good partners. Fighting-types such as Terrakion, Keldeo, and Scrafty beat Steels too, and threaten Mega Kangaskhan with its Fighting STAB moves, and Intimidate in Scrafty's case. Landorus-Therian also beats Steel-types with powerful Earthquakes, as well as having Intimidate to dismantle physical attackers. Hoopa-Unbound also does well at beating Steel-types, while it can break Wide Guards with its Hyperspace STAB moves. Pokemon with Tailwind, such as Talonflame, Zapdos, and Suicune are good choices as well as Mega Gardevoir doesn't have to fear taking damage from faster threats once Tailwind is up. Another speed control user could be Thundurus, which can easily spread paralyzes with Prankster Thunder Wave. Jirachi is a strong partner as well, as it can redirect heavy attacks such as Mega Kangaskhans Return and Mega Metagross' Iron Head with Follow Me, but also because Jirachi can provide speed control with Icy Wind or Trick Room. Feint useres such as Weavile, Infernape, and Chesnaught are good partners as it can break Wide Guard, which allows Mega Gardevoir to use Hyper Voice more easily. Amoonguss is a great partner as well, especially when using a Trick Room Mega Gardevoir, as Amoonguss can easily Spore threats.

Mega Gardevoir has a bunch of other moves that it can use, such as Shadow Ball to hit opposing Psychic-types such as Mega Gardevoir, but also to deal damage to Aegislash, which normally would take very little damage from your STAB attacks. It can also use Substitute to protect itself from status moves such as Thundurus' Thunder Wave, as well as making it an extremely scary threat to break down once Substitute is up. Ally Switch can be used to catch your opponent offguard, and to put your teammate in safety. Taunt can be used to disrupt Cresselia and Reuniclus from setting up Trick Room. Encore cripples Pokemon such as Aegislash or Heatran, locking them into King's Shield and Substitute, respectively. It can also cripple Protect users by locking them into it. Will-O-Wisp cripples physical attackers such as Mega Kangaskhan and Landorus-Therian. And lastly Imprison, which prevents the opponent from using Protect as well as opposing Hyper Voice users such as Sylveon. It is fairly niche but works well if there is no Sylveon or Mega Gardevoir switch in on the team.

**Speed**: Mega Gardevoir has a lot of trouble with Pokemon that outspeed it, especially faster Pokemon such as Mega Metagross and Landorus-Therian. Mega Gardevoir also struggles with priority users such as Sucker Punch Bisharp, Sucker Punch Kangaskhan, and Brave Bird Talonflame. Mega Kangaskhan is one of the biggest issues to go up against, because of its high physical damage and because it can outspeed Mega Gardevoir.

**Strong Physical Attackers**: Due to Mega Gardevoirs low base Defense, attacks such as Mega Kangaskhan Return or Landorus-Therian Earthquake will heavily damage it.

56 HP / 16 Def / 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 184 Spe survives Aegislash's Shadow Ball/Flash Cannon with much better physical bulk. Gardevoir's base HP is really low, so you generally want to invest in that to survive special attacks. You might as well mention in the set comments that it outspeeds Landorus-T too.

252+ SpA Aegislash-Blade Shadow Ball vs. 56 HP / 4 SpD Mega Gardevoir: 246-290 (84.5 - 99.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

ay you were the guy who fixed it in the ev spread compendium :D thanks dude!

Just posting this here for reference

[14:10:33] #kamikaze: put taunt and wisp into other options on that
[14:10:40] #kamikaze: apparently we didnt get back to you on that
[14:10:53] #kamikaze: 3rd slot should be hp ground / focus blast / trick room

Sorry I didn't get around to this last night but I'm checking it now !_!

  • [Set] Slash Psychic before Psyshock
  • [Set] Slash Telepathy behind Trace, it can be useful if you have an Earthquake user and not many things to click EQ beside.
  • [Moves] Focus Blast allows you to hit Ferrothorn, which otherwise completely walls you, so it's worth mentioning specifically. Also point out that HP Ground hits Heatran just as hard as Focus Blast does.
  • [Set Details] Trace is also useful for facing weather teams - if you Trace Chlorophyll or Swift Swim then Garde will be fast on its first turn out.
  • [Set Details] Specify that Timid allows you to outspeed Adamant Mega Kangaskhan and other neutral-natured base 100s as well as any non-Scarf Lando-T.
  • [Set Details] Because of that bullet point I just wrote, last sentence should be something along the lines of "The given EVs allow Mega Gardevoir to survive Aegislash's Shadow Ball or Flash Cannon and maximize Special Attack, with the remainder used to help patch Mega Gardevoir's low Defense stat."
  • [Set Details] Also point out that if using Trick Room, Mega Garde should be using a spread of 240 HP / 16 Def / 252 SpA with a Quiet Nature, allowing it to survive LO Talon Brave Bird and maximizing Special Attack.
  • [Usage Tips] Since Mega Garde gains 20 points in Speed on its Mega Evolution turn, it often needs to Protect its first turn out in order to gain a speed advantage.
  • [Usage Tips] If a potential Wide Guard user is on the field and Mega Garde can get a KO with either Hyper Voice or Psychic / Psyshock, it should use the non-spread move.
  • [Team Options] Feint users such as Weavile, Infernape, and Chesnaught are worth mentioning because they can break Wide Guard.
  • [Checks and Counters] Typing Advantage also applies to Fire-types, since they resist Hyper Voice - Mega Charizard Y and Victini are especially good checks because of high SpD and high Attack, respectively.
  • [Checks and Counters] Add a **Strong Physical Attackers** tag since Garde is so physically frail - mention things like Mega Kang Return here.

Do^ for 1/3 yay

checkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

- (overview) I don't think it's pre-mega speed is poor, just find a different word that isn't so negative ^_^
- (moves) mention that hyper voice is spread lol
- (team options) Togekiss as a Gard partner is probably not that good, replace with an example like Zapdos
- (team options) Jirachi redirecting Talon Brave Birds is a bit weird considering it gets murked by Flare Blitz, give an example of another physical attack like maybe Kanga Returns
- (team options) Amoonguss not being mentioned is criminal as I honestly believe it's Gard's best partner. Mention it with Trick Room Gard and how Spore gives it free turns, letting it spam Hyper Voice
- (other options) Encore to fuck w/ Aegislash and Subtran as well as other things that use Protect
- (other options) Imprison prevents the opponents from using Protect as well as shielding your team from opposing Hyper Voices. Niche but quite good if your team can't switch into Sylv

2/3 when implemented n_n

I know you are waiting on me. I am doing this check tomorrow (which is Saturday)

I have been dealing with some awful sickness spreading around my local area for the past couple days.

3/5 Sat night edit: still feeling like complete shit. Hopefully I can do a proper check Sunday night

QC wanted this to be the standard spread:
72 HP / 108 Def / 220 SpA / 108 Spe Modest (lives Talon BB or Aegis Shadow Ball, outspeeds Breloom, rest in SpA)

You can include your current spread in set details specifically if its ran with Icy Wind support, so it outspeeds Scarf Lando-T after a speed drop.

[Set Details]
- Change your trace sentences a little, since I rarely suggest switching in Gardevoir into a Landorus-T attack. Prob better off as "The ability Trace allows Gardevoir pre-mega to gain a random ability from the opposing two Pokemon, which can be quite disruptive to the opponent. Very useful abilities to trace are Intimidate from threats like Landorus-T, Speed Boost from Blaziken, or weather abilities such as Swift Swim and Chlorophyll"
- telepathy isnt only useful for switching in, I have actually used it to attack with lando and garde while staying non-mega. "Telepathy allows you to switch in and even attack alongside partners using spread moves that attack allies such as Landorus-T's Earthquake."

[Team Options]
- A lot of team options seem to be missing: Hoopa-U (steel killer and wide guard breaker), Terrakion and Keldeo (steel and kang killers), Landorus-T(steel killer and intimidate user), Scrafty (intimidate user, steel killer, and good with TR), Suicune(tailwind setter), Thundurus (Speed Control)
- Note that jirachi provides speed control in icy wind or trick room.
- You will probably have to work on the prose here so isnt a complete mess esp when you add these pokemon.

[Checks and Counters]
- Dont mention bullet punch mega meta for speed when you talk about priority users since you are getting blown back by meteor mash or iron head anyway. If you wanna take about other prio users you can mention sucker punch bisharp and kang.
- Speaking of which definitely mention Mega Kang in the Speed section since its one of the biggest issues Garde has to go up against.
- In the Strong physical attackers section, Landorus-T EQ doesnt ohko garde so you can just say they they deal heavy damage.

Ok I gotta go to sleep since I have a Premier Challenge to go to. Implement all this and if its done by the time I come back from the PC, I will see if its good for 3/3 in the night.

Don't slash Timid on the set unless you mention that Timid Gardevoir should just be using max spa / max spe in the set comments otherwise some retard will end up using 108 Spe Timid Gardevoir after reading this. It is also the only way that this
whilst a Timid nature allows it to outspeed neutral-natured base 100s such as Mega Kangaskhan
and
as well as outspeeding any non-Choice Scarf variants of Landorus-Therian
become true statements.
If you run Icy Wind support on the team, Mega Gardevoir can outspeed 252 Choice Scarf Landorus-Therian after one speed drop.
This is literally not true with the spread you're using in the main set, you need at least 184 Spe with a neutral nature to do that.

There's quite a lot of other stuff on here that needs addressing (for the love of god re-do the overview) but other QC will probably handle that.

the speed things are wrong because i implemented kamis check but kami said he was going to check for 3/3 tonight

Implementing my check means keeping the descriptions consistent with the newly added set. I was gonna check for this before giving 3/3 anyway, so do what shaian said.
