Silly Things You've Seen In Other Metagames

Weakness Policy Gigalith. WP + Sturdy is a nice combo, but Custap Berry may have been a better choice seeing as Gigalith is insanely slow.
Also, Tornadus-I uses Bulk Up in front of a Zapdos and thus gets punished.
Magnezone with Substitute, Hidden Power Ice and Zap Cannon...
And Mega Venusaur uses Sludge Bomb instead of Giga Drain against Mega Diancie and gets beaten by Psychic.

And to show that I make mistakes myself:

Probably the best moves in Challenge Cup are recovery moves to outlast the weak attacks of your opponents. So of course I pick the Electivire with Rest. Unfortunately it has Vital Spirit...

Mega Lucario and Mega Aggron vs. 3 Greninja, Snorlax, Shuckle, and Shedinja. And they wonder why they lost.

This battle made my brain hurt

I think you're missing a Pokemon. And a proper strategy.
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-351624623
Incredibly shitty team + BPing with one Pokemon left vs. Mega Charizard Y and Black Kyurem. Guess which side wins.
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/doublesou-351653683
I know Doubles OU isn't an OM but I still felt like posting this here. 4 Pokemon, one of which is Pachirisu (why do people even try to replicate what Se Jun Park did)

Every time you use non-Mega Charizard, a kitten dies. Stop using non-Mega Charizard 2016.

  • (L) Tons of shitmons, including Quilava and Corphish.
  • (R) Apparently, Snorlax's best move against Mega Absol is Gunk Shot. (Normal-type, accurate STAB, where are you?)
  • (L) Unless Snorlax didn't have Thick Fat, we have a nice Specs Quilava there.
  • (R) "The opposing Deoxys used Hidden Power!" "It doesn't affect Absol..." Pretty self-explanatory.
  • (L) "★thunder17308:Hurry up." After leaving the computer for a few minutes and losing the match to the timer.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-351688114 (Tour match)
Turn 37: Amoonguss takes 38% from Fusion Flare.
0 SpA Turboblaze Kyurem-W Fusion Flare vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Amoonguss: 192-226 (44.4 - 52.3%) -- 17.6% chance to 2HKO
OK, something's off.

assualt vest. very common (regenvest, anyone?)? Also negative natures *are* possible.

More dumb replays, brought to you by Silver_Lucario42!!
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-351864105
(L) A sand team. But you know that this isn't just any old sand team, when you see...
(L) Sandstorm Gigalith. Are you just too lazy to use Tyranitar or do you really need Sturdy? At least it has a Smooth Rock. Its opponent is...
(R) A Pokken Tournament theme team that leads with none other than Pikachu-Libre. It manages to parahax Gigalith, "forcing" left to switch to...
(L) Curse Mega Steelix. Is that a thing? It takes two Flying Presses from Pikachu-Libre, who wisely decides to get out of there.
(R) Switches Lucario in on a +1 Heavy Slam, letting it get OHKO'd. Whoops. Revenge kills Steelix with...
(R) Hydro Pump / Surf / Aurora Beam Suicune. You can tell that the attack drop is far more useful than the freeze chance. Steelix stays in for some reason.
(L) Switches in their Sand Veil Cacturne. They manage to set up an SD on Suicune, but then follow it up with a Sucker Punch (Grass STAB? Hello?). However, they succeed in finally KO'ing Suicune with Excadrill.
(L) SD's with Excadrill against Pikachu-Libre, then proceeds to take 44% from Flying Press. They finally think of switching to Aegislash, who forces Pikachu-Libre to switch to...
(R) Non-Mega Charizard #2825859369. At least this one has a decent set, but it still can't predict around King's Shield.
(L) Gets greedy and sets up to +6 with Aegislash, taking two -2 Flare Blitzes in the process. They do succeed in KO'ing Zard with a Shadow Sneak, though. But just as it looks like they can sweep...
(L) Aegislash has a Life Orb. I honestly don't know if this is a thing, but it was pretty stupid. In the end, though, it's stopped by...
(R) Rocky Helmet Chandelure. You can't get more antimeta than that.
(R) Magician Braixen makes a good play by stealing Gigalith's Smooth Rock. With Psybeam. Gigalith then reveals Earthquake, which could have KO'd Pikachu-Libre had it stayed in.
(L) Switches out Gigalith for whatever reason. They must really like it or something. They go to Excadrill, which is KO'd on the switch by a Flying Press.
(L) A bad Heatran set that whiffs a Stone Edge on Pikachu and almost gets parahaxed to death by it. In the end, though, it manages to land a Crunch on Pikachu, which meanwhile is using Flying Press even though Discharge does more damage. Yikes.
Even more replays coming soon!
Edit: Here's another funny one I found:
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-351875042
(B) Terrible Pokémon choices
(L) Taunt Archeops which gets itself down into Defeatist range with Head Smash against...
(R) Hidden Power Ninjask. At least it had a Sash, and it's able to take down Archeops with an X-Scissor. It gets revenge killed by...
(L) Duskull ever. With a set of Shadow Sneak / Will-O-Wisp / Pain Split / Substitute. Right sends in...
(R) Butterfree (we all know how it got buffed this gen!) with a decent set of Quiver Dance, Bug Buzz and Psychic.
(L) Sets up a Substitute against a Pokémon with a sound-based primary STAB, which it of course uses.
(R) Derps hard on Butterfree by hitting the Substitute with Psychic when another Bug Buzz would have KO'd.

Left seemed to be running some kind of fiesta-themed team, which I guess excuses the mon choices -- it's not like they're here to really Compete. And even then, there was actual thought put into making the best team it could out of those members. Right can't claim any of that.

assualt vest. very common (regenvest, anyone?)? Also negative natures *are* possible.
Here it is:
0- SpA Turboblaze Kyurem-W Fusion Flare vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Amoonguss: 170-202 (39.3 - 46.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

Fusion Flare deals 39% damage min to non-AV Amoonguss with a negative nature. It only deals 38% in the replay, so it's AV.
AV Amoonguss looks silly. Assault Vest Torn-T, Slowking, Tangrowth, they're all legit. But Amoonguss? No. It needs its Spore, unless that stall team needed it for something else.

Here it is:

You forgot IV alteration. With 0 SpA IVs you can get this calc.

0- SpA Turboblaze Kyurem-W Fusion Flare vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Amoonguss: 158-186 (36.5 - 43%)

Which means that roll would be possible. Do I think it's likely that he changed his IVs to 0? No I can't think of any reason why he would do that, so it really is likely AV Amoon. If he had gone with 0 SpA IVs though that would be very silly.

E: Guess I'll drop a replay too. Snorlax Squad vs gems like Pjab/Sball MMX and Headbutt Pdon.

It really doesn't. Regenvest amoongus is an xern counter- w/o vest, it isn't. Hence why the had it.
Since that is amoongus' only ag niche (which got it ranked), it has to run it.

My brain hurts now

Alrighty folks, new batch!

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-353561897
MAGIC. BOUNCE. Also, Signal Beam Galvantula when Bug Buzz exists.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/monotype-353559873
This is why it's a good idea not to lead Hoopa. See? It's not broken at all! Also, *your* in the chat.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/1v1-353560384
Gee, I wonder what left is picking? The Cincinno facing it is nicknamed "Cancer". Fortunately, unlike actual cancer, Cinnie whiffs a Tail Slap, resulting in Laz winning its battle.
(Also, this is supposedly done in the name of "cancer awareness". I think we're all plenty aware, thank you very much, and spamming Cincinno isn't really doing anything to help the cause.)

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-353558560
Xerneas is using Close Combat! Let me bring in my Dragonite! Wait...Right still wins, because Smeargle is able to pass to Espeon and threaten to wreck (um, you have a Mawile, you know).

Again, mostly to be fair- Sableye hadn't megad yet, and that isn't the kind of team that should be using mega Sableye, so it is understandable. After all, non-mega sableye is on the ag viability rankings.
Close combat xern is totally legitimate. Its one of its best sets, in fact. The rest of it, again no comment.

This is my first AU battle with a stall team, and this is what I get to see -_-
Hustle miss, Scald burn. Wow, that's bad luck. Although why is he not going to Suicune, obviously.

Oh, I'm not knocking that. It's that foolish, foolish switch. Even if it was the stupid full physical set, that's asking for an Outrage to the face. And then he sets up. Also, the dragon freaking outsped.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/rususpecttest-353478805

I know RU isn't an OM but I think I pressed this guy's berserk button by telling him Typhlosion is an awful Pokemon and not to use it. He even called me a dumbass for using HJK.
there's an RU replays thread but I think that's for competitively-oriented replays only, not silly things

so I guess you could post this here since I don't think there's really a better place for it at the moment

edit: to be fair you probably should have taken the hint that he was going to switch to Banette and used Knock Off or something on that turn. If you had Knock Off, anyway; obviously I can't say for sure since I don't know what your team's like
