thanks alot, this greatly speeds up my trick room swampert breeding :) Hope it does well on my team!
He is good..wide guard is such a good move in the game at the moment ..most people dont bother with it unless on Aiegslash so dont expect it from swampert, but spread moves are so common at the moment thanks to grouden/kyogre and hypervoice getting pixilate/aerilate boost. i use him with jellicent as I bred a 6iv one (in my trade thread) so I could use surf with jellicent water absorb and jellicent sets up TR (also has good STAB attacks in water spout and shadow ball so can hit hard while swampert protects with wide guard) while grass is an issue with both of them the 2 best poke that can work either in or out of TR are scizor and talonflame...thats how I use swampy anyway!
Hey thanks for the advice! What set(s) do you run? I'm putting him on my trick room team because I keep getting screwed over by spread attacks indeed such as hyper voice sylveon or heat wave heatran/charizard before i can set up my sweepers (abomasnow/excavalier most of the time). Do you keep swampert in against sun sweepers, cause they can just as easily target you down with a solar beam..
It depends what battle format your in I think as VGC16 is very different to say the battle maison (I have 2 different talonflames for each!) So I used him first in the battle maison but trick room in the maison will always run a lvl 1 Aron so he's only a support mon there I did use him in one of the VGC wifi comps as a mega (my 2 legends were groudon and kyogre) and he surives for a while as both have a hard time killing him off (especially if they cant use their spread move) I want to use him again with kyogre and Rayquazza ..I kind of dont like that he gets swift swim as I use quiet kyogre so they conteract each other speed wise but he's bulky enough to take a hit, I dont lead with him either, id always lead with talonflame first (quick guard/taunt support and priority Brave bird) then either finish of something with Tflame or switch in swampy.
With regards to sets I ran a mixed set with waterfall /wide guard / EQ and VGC-earth power battle maison -surf ..if your using mega then u'll prob want to run a pysical set with EQ if ur team allows if non-mega then switching nature to quiet and running a special set is viable. Obvs in all this ive assumed doubles format if triples then def run talonflame in the front 3 to take out most solarbeamers that arent char-y in which case u'll want to protect while u twist dimensions to then KO with waterfall/scald
