Electrode: Can do more than Explode

Though the question is raised of why not use something one of the upteen other Taunt users. Most SR users tend to be ground orientated which means you'd need an incredible ammount of foresight to Taunt on the SR than do whatever afterwards. That is opposed to being EQ'd silly.

Jesus if its special attack or attack wasn't so meh it'd be an excellent Dragon Dance counter with things like standard DDos, DDTar, DDGatr all unable to outspeed Electrode after one DD. Two of them weak to STAB Electric and T-tar easily sorted out by a HP Fighting or Natural Gift Fighting.

That really only comes into play with Hippowdon, whose reason for starting is to set up Sandstorm, with Stealth Rock as an added bonus, whereas a starter Swampert is unwise because it reveals one of your walls, and the only thing it can really do at the start is Stealth Rock. Taunt stops that, and then you switch to a Swampert counter. Also, these "umpteen Taunt Users" are news to me. I know of Tauntridos, which Electrode stops dead, or DDTaunting TTar, which would indeed force Trode out, but again like Swampert most people would expect a switch instead of Taunt, and thus opt for DD or something, which is hastily Taunted. There's Tauntbat I suppose, which Trode also stops dead and can even get an LOL Static para if it tries to U-Turn.

I'm not saying Taunting Electrode is great, but I am saying Taunt is a viable option considering Trode's horrendously shallow movepool.
