ORAS Ubers Blaziken Balance

Blaziken Balance

Hey everyone! I'm relatively new to the Smogon forums and competitive Pokemon in general. I've been working on this Ubers team for a little while, and I wanted to share it here, so I could gather some advice and fix the team up if it's lacking.

blaziken-mega.gif

Ken Masters (Blaziken-Mega) @ Blazikenite
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Protect
- Flare Blitz
- Low Kick
- Stone Edge

I wanted to make a team with Mega Blaziken as the head, as it's an underrated, yet powerful sweeper. With Protect, and the amazing ability in speed boost, It can quickly sweep through teams using its gargantuan attack stat after enough checks have been weakened. Protect allows it to gain a speed boost and scout, Flare Blitz and Low Kick are your fire and fighting STABs respectively, and Stone Edge is for Ho-Oh and other annoying flying types.
yveltal.gif

Shizzy Sixx (Yveltal) @ Charti Berry
Ability: Dark Aura
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Foul Play
- Roost
- Toxic
- Taunt

For the next slot, I chose to include physically defense Yveltal, sporting a Charti berry to check Stone Edge variants of E Killer and Primal Groudon. With its bulk and access to foul play, It's a good switch-in to most physical attackers for the team, and can punish setup sweepers such as E Killer, Mega Salamence, and Dual Dance Groudon using a Dark Aura boosted foul play.

xerneas-active.gif

Tier Deer (Xerneas) @ Power Herb
Ability: Fairy Aura
EVs: 184 HP / 28 Def / 252 SpA / 44 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Geomancy
- Moonblast
- Aromatherapy
- Sleep Talk

Xerneas is Xerneas. I don't have to tell you about this thing's sweeping potential. Aromatherapy also allows it to serve as a cleric, being able to cure annoying status aliments that may plague my team's attackers or walls. Sleep Talk is just so I don't get destroyed by Darkrai.

giratina-origin.gif

Phantamanta (Giratina-Origin) @ Griseous Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 Atk / 248 Def / 12 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Defog
- Shadow Sneak
- Dragon Tail
- Shadow Force

Giratina-O is my choice for hazard control, being another great defensive tank that can pick off weakened foes, phase mons around to rack up hazard damage, and do massive damage with Shadow Force.

groudon-primal.gif

Ubers OU (Groudon) @ Red Orb
Ability: Drought
EVs: 252 HP / 56 Def / 200 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Lava Plume
- Roar

Standard support Groudon. Set up rocks, do damage with earthquake and lava plume, and stop Xerneas and other sweepers with Roar. You know the drill.

arceus.gif

God of Tango (Arceus) @ Life Orb
Ability: Multitype
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Extreme Speed
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake

I wanted another powerful setup sweeper, and who better than the legend of sweeping itself? Everyone knows what E Killer does, and how effective it is at it. Being able to set up, boast a massive attack stat, and destroy teams with powerful, life orb boosted, STAB priority is an amazing power to have. On top of that, it makes a wonderful revenge killer.

As I haven't tested this team out too much yet, I can't put together an accurate threatlist. However, I'd still love advice, recommendations for changes, or any kind of feedback you'd wish to share. Thank you for reading!

Hi there Ashley!
Your team looks pretty nice, I really like the combination between Yveltal and Giratina-O as a support helping Mega Blaziken, having a good ground resistence and avoiding priority attacks that easily kills Blaziken such as Extreme Speed from Arceus-Normal and Deoxys-A. Anyway I can see some small flaws on your team but I think you can fix them.

I'd like to start with Yveltal. You are defensive Charti and I get the point it's your Ekiller and PDn check, I feel your team needs more offensiveness and you already have Giratina which does a similar job.
LO Yveltal pressures your opponent, Dark Pulse as STAB 2HKOs PDon and you'll have a change to flinch. Oblivion Wing hits pretty hard Xerneas (3HKOs defensive Xerneas), you can also Knock Off predicting Geomancy and this move helps as well versus Klefki and Ho-Oh.
Yveltal @ Life Orb
Ability: Dark Aura
EVs: 132 HP / 28 Atk / 252 SpA / 96 Spe
Rash Nature
- Dark Pulse
- Oblivion Wing
- Sucker Punch
- Knock Off
Next suggestion is Scarf Xerneas. Darkrai could be an annoying pokémon and the best hard check is Scarf Xerneas; it's an auxiliary Deoxys-A and Mewtwo check. I like Geomancy on Scarf because if you get Knocked Off by Yveltal you could find a moment and boost your Xerneas.
Xerneas @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Fairy Aura
EVs: 32 Def / 252 SpA / 224 Spe
Modest Nature
- Moonblast
- Geomancy
- Sleep Talk
-
Lastly, I wanna talk about Primal-Groudon. The Evs are fine if you can give it more defense it'd be better because of Salamence. I'd change Precipice Blades over Eartquake it hits even more hard and Thunder Wave>Roar is a good option too when you paralyze a Salamence and Xerneas you can revenge them with any other mon and Stone Edge instead of Lava Plume to lure Ho-Oh.
Ho-Oh and Lugia are a bit annoying this is why I like Stone Edge on Blaziken and Arceus and the Evs you have on Yveltal outspeed Lugia. I like Shadow Force on Giratina it lures pretty well threats like Mega Diancie.

That's all, hope I helped good luck with your team!=)

You will be sneaked into the set Geomancy scarf. I guess that will be the classic Sleep Talk + Moonblast. It's a great idea to absorb Darkrai Dark Void.
No, you are wrong. Sleep Talk can never roll 2-turn moves, such as Geomancy. Geomancy on Scarf Xerneas is there simply because of the reason that if its Scarf gets Knocked Off, it can then use Geomancy to set up and pose a potential threat.

My fault, apparently misunderstood the message. Borro above. Well, okay although it seems a bit risky. I do not think that play is always on.

I think you misunderstood again. There is no risk in putting geomancy on scarf Xerneas, since it cannot get a geomancy roll with sleep talk, still giving you a 100% chance to get moonblast with sleep talk.
