Blaziken Balance
Hey everyone! I'm relatively new to the Smogon forums and competitive Pokemon in general. I've been working on this Ubers team for a little while, and I wanted to share it here, so I could gather some advice and fix the team up if it's lacking.
Ken Masters (Blaziken-Mega) @ Blazikenite
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Protect
- Flare Blitz
- Low Kick
- Stone Edge
I wanted to make a team with Mega Blaziken as the head, as it's an underrated, yet powerful sweeper. With Protect, and the amazing ability in speed boost, It can quickly sweep through teams using its gargantuan attack stat after enough checks have been weakened. Protect allows it to gain a speed boost and scout, Flare Blitz and Low Kick are your fire and fighting STABs respectively, and Stone Edge is for Ho-Oh and other annoying flying types.
Shizzy Sixx (Yveltal) @ Charti Berry
Ability: Dark Aura
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Foul Play
- Roost
- Toxic
- Taunt
For the next slot, I chose to include physically defense Yveltal, sporting a Charti berry to check Stone Edge variants of E Killer and Primal Groudon. With its bulk and access to foul play, It's a good switch-in to most physical attackers for the team, and can punish setup sweepers such as E Killer, Mega Salamence, and Dual Dance Groudon using a Dark Aura boosted foul play.
Tier Deer (Xerneas) @ Power Herb
Ability: Fairy Aura
EVs: 184 HP / 28 Def / 252 SpA / 44 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Geomancy
- Moonblast
- Aromatherapy
- Sleep Talk
Xerneas is Xerneas. I don't have to tell you about this thing's sweeping potential. Aromatherapy also allows it to serve as a cleric, being able to cure annoying status aliments that may plague my team's attackers or walls. Sleep Talk is just so I don't get destroyed by Darkrai.
Phantamanta (Giratina-Origin) @ Griseous Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 Atk / 248 Def / 12 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Defog
- Shadow Sneak
- Dragon Tail
- Shadow Force
Giratina-O is my choice for hazard control, being another great defensive tank that can pick off weakened foes, phase mons around to rack up hazard damage, and do massive damage with Shadow Force.
Ubers OU (Groudon) @ Red Orb
Ability: Drought
EVs: 252 HP / 56 Def / 200 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Lava Plume
- Roar
Standard support Groudon. Set up rocks, do damage with earthquake and lava plume, and stop Xerneas and other sweepers with Roar. You know the drill.
God of Tango (Arceus) @ Life Orb
Ability: Multitype
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Extreme Speed
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
I wanted another powerful setup sweeper, and who better than the legend of sweeping itself? Everyone knows what E Killer does, and how effective it is at it. Being able to set up, boast a massive attack stat, and destroy teams with powerful, life orb boosted, STAB priority is an amazing power to have. On top of that, it makes a wonderful revenge killer.
As I haven't tested this team out too much yet, I can't put together an accurate threatlist. However, I'd still love advice, recommendations for changes, or any kind of feedback you'd wish to share. Thank you for reading!
