Just wondering why the following set never seems to pop up:

Rhyperior @ Chesto Berry
Solid Rock
Sassy/Careful
EVS: 252Hp/4 Atk/252Sp Def (Perhaps more in the DEF from the HP etc)

Curse
Rest
Stone Edge
Earthquake

If the following calculations are correct at LV100 with 31IVs its stats would be:

HP: 434
Atk: 317
Def: 296
Sp Atk: Irrelevent
Sp Def: 292
Spd: In a cursing set rather irrelevent

In a Sand team the Sp Def gains 1.5 boost to 438.

Similar idea to the Curselax...

If my calculations are correct even without (Admittedly in a Sandstorm) Cusing his Defensive stats rival that of Cresselia while not been hurt by the Sand. After a Curse or two, has Physical stats that are extremely high...

I understand the idea that most Tanks work on the basis of increasing their main Defence (Physical or Special with the exception of Blissey) and curselax isn't as good in this generation... But even on the Anyalsis of a number of the pokemon that get Curse, a Curse set isn't mentioned.

A full list of Japanese-American version difference please...
also is it any difference between American and Pal version of the game?

Spiritomb

[SET]
name: Attacker
move 1: Hypnosis
move 2: Nasty Plot / Calm Mind
move 3: Shadow Ball
move 4: Hidden Power Fighting
item: Leftovers
nature: Modest
evs: 252 HP/252 SpAtk/4 Def

wouldnt it be better to use Pain Split, or Rest, with perhaps a Bold nature, and even the SpAtk ev's in Def? since Calm Mind raises the SpAtk and SpDef anyway? i mean, it's like a special attacking Cresselia, except it can pseudo-heal itself with Pain-Spilt. so i figure that the following could last alot longer with more damage overall;

Spiritomb@ Leftovers
Modest / Bold
252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Sp???
- Pain Split
- Calm Mind
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power Fighting

what do the veterans think?

addendum: what im basically saying is;

turn 1: Calm Mind
turn 2: Pain Split/Rest the damage, or CM again
turn 3: (see turn 2), or attack for the kill

pretty simple to me

Well, you need some Special Attack to start out with, or else you'll end up very weak even after a Calm Mind or two. Also keep in mind that the Attacker Spiritomb isn't like something such as Suicune; it's meant to deal damage, whereas Suicune is a wall with Calm Mind essentially as an afterthought.

Also, Spiritomb's defenses aren't the best in the world, so it needs to buy some time while it sets up. Hypnosis does that job pretty well. Hypnosis, Nasty Plot on the switch, and sweep away. I've swept entire teams with that set. I've also tried Pain Split in place of Hypnosis, but that didn't do as much for me.

Just got myself an AR, and I'm wondering where to find the code for cloning. I tried googling "pokesav" and nothing useful came up. I know this is a noob question, but....

Oh, and does it require using that disc that came in the package. I have a Mac, and fear it won't work.

is 13 points in spD a big deal on Arcanine? The reason I ask is because I have a great Growlithe with great IVs except for an 18 in spD. Is it still usable/tradeable?

ask gin or something, I don't exactly remember the code...

you don't need the little disc thingy to imput codes, I've never used it. and why did you google pokesav? i typed in something like

"Pokemon pearl action replay cloning" when I serched for it. BTW, diamonds and pearls codes are the same.

I probably look like a huge hacker right now, but I don't know dipshit about how or were to get/use pokesav. xD

I'm thinking of making a pseudo-uber team with Pokemon that seems to be uber but isn't quite there yet. Any suggestions? I'm thinking...

Special Wall: Blissey
Mixed Wall: Cresselia
Physical Wall: Skarmory? Gliscor? Jirachi?
Special Sweeper: Salamence? Starmie?
Physical Sweeper: Electivire?
Extra (whatever else, can be anything): Ninjask?
Help with this team please. =)

This needs answering.

Also:

Is there a way to check if a pokemon I was traded had hacked parents? I suspect I've been traded a baby of hacked parents.

personally, i think that 18 SpD will suffice for an Arcanine. SpD is really his least important defense stat becuase I would image that taking a weak Earthquake is a bigger priority than taking a weak Surf. but thats coming from someone who has never used an Arcanine...

Also, can someone suggest a bulkier EV spread and nature for Porygon2? I've been trying out the spread in the analysis, and it has been lacking in it's tanking abilities. i have Charge Beam to boost his attacking capabilities, so i don't think that Modest and all of those EVs is necessary. does anyone have any positive experience with other set-ups? thanks.
