Females in Videogames

So Kristy how is starring in The Suite Life treating you!!

edit: so i guess thats not you in your sig =(

Posting to say that Princess Peach has always been the shit in every single Mario Game where she's a playable character.

Serra in Fire Emblem for GBA always turns out as one of my best characters. She always maxes in about everything, and I love using her. I also have always liked Samus as a character, and love using Princess Peach in Smash Bros.

What was her name.. Aya Brea from Parasite Eve was pretty cool. I liked that game a lot and she played protagonist very well.

I must say that Peach is pretty good and was not that bad in that DS game for her. Super Princess Peach, right?

I'm not entirely sure if this counts, due to the tabletop game, but the eldar in the warhammer 40K dawn of war games are really cool not slut female charachters. more specifically the Farseer Taldeer

though the table top game does take away from the origionality of the Dawn of War series it is an amazing RTS in its own right.

I liked Samus more back when they didn't de-armor her so much. I kinda feel like she's being more and more sexualized all the time? :\

I still love her, but it's sad to see how that kind of thing has to happen because it helps sell games so well.

I really, really love females in videogames! Not in the lesbian love kinda way... Its just inspiring to see a female lead in a game. Examples are Samus Aran from the Metroid series and Lara Croft from Tombraider.

Does anyone have any good games with female leads in them? Are you inspired by them? Females have come a long way, and even though we aren't equal to men yet, we will be!

Probably my most favorite game with female leads has to be FFX-2. In that game you could really understand the personalities of each girl... which was really enjoyable to play. Females like Samus Aran I can't really relate with because it's not like she talked much lol...

She took off her armor(her helmet) at least since the original. It's a Metroid tradition to display her unarmored to some extent at the end. If you're talking about ZSS, at least she looks to be have some muscle tone to her. You figure she must be in her 20s, so it's little wonder she's good-looking...

Chicks in video games are sometimes cool. Chun-Li is a good example. She's a strong female character, which is neat, if only Chun didn't play like a total fuck twat, I'd like her more though. The female character in GunZ I actually prefer to the male: her animations seem more smooth, and when you Butterfly well with her, it looks crazy.

Don't like any chicks from WC3, since they're pretty much all NE, and I really don't like NE....

What I, like, really want to see is a fighting game that combines the obligatory "big fat grappler", and "strong independent woman". I mean I know it sounds weird, but there are like NO ugly/fat chicks in video games, and I think it'd be cool to see one.

Not to mention some uber-weaboos fapping to her skintight suit. -_-

Otherwise, her armor suit is badass. :'D I swear, I'll dress up as her for Halloween one time, if it were even possible to build such a suit for myself. xD

Actually, she's in a bikini in every single game till the more recent ones if you get the best ending. In metroid 1, if you beat the game in armorless mode in under an hour, you get...

So it is possible that the skin-tight suit is actually a step away from sexualizing Samus, ironically.

Freya from FF9 was awesome because she beat the shit out of everything.

also Rogue from X-Men vs Street Fighter or whatever the game was called if she counts

Awh no....

Does anyone else think that FFX-2 was a really sub standard game for the FF series? I don't know whether it was because it was too girly or...no wait that's exactly why I didn't like it :(

Female leads are great and all that, but FFX-2 went too far and messed up the game because of it imo.

Mia is my fav video game character ever by far. Fire Emblem.

The damn swordmasters were nurfed in that game. Mia had no strength, Stephan had no luck, and Zihark sucked as a character >_>

Anyway, I liked Nephenee. Then again, that was because Nephenee has massive defenses, strength, and speed and HP... too bad her caps were set so low.

EDIT: I swear, someone who practices swordsmanship as much as Mia ought to be stronger >_>
