If it's like the demo, then it shouldn't be THAT bad. It mostly lags when you're selecting your move and the camera focuses on too many things, when the pokemon do their moves it runs fine for some weird reason.

Besides, it can't get any worse that Hyrule Warriors 3D. Nothing runs smoothly when playing it on old 3DSs, unlike SuMo.

True, and I still enjoyed Hyrule warriors on 3ds.

I can tell you from first-hand experience that it is playable but the frame drops are serious during battles with more than 2 Pokémon on the field. Especially if the background is very scenic.
Some move animations also significantly slow down your frame-rate (I once had a Electro Ball Pikachu almost freeze my screen for a second during a very scenic battle.)
The camera minigame also can be pretty laggy.

PS: I'm playing Moon on an old 3DS XL.

Ok thats good to know. I still don't want to update my system, since I love my Blue XL with Xerneas and Yvaltl on it... but its not a deal breaker right?

Have some questions.

1. Has anyone found the IV checker yet? Is it possible to competitively breed before completing Main game? How early is the daycare available?

2. Does anyone have the team lineups for the Battle Tree characters? I'm mostly interested in Cynthia's really.

3. Has anyone found any bottlecaps ingame? Is there any way to farm them to maximize stats? I would really love to maximize my starter and some others from my ingame team.

4. Does anyone have a list of Pokemon only available in postgame? I'm assuming the Ultra Beasts and the Tapus.

Let me tell it like this.
It is very noticeable at times that the O3DS XL can't handle these games very well, but I still finished it without getting too annoyed by it.
Most of it runs fairly smooth though. For me at least.

BUT I haven't tried any of the online features yet and if the multiplayer double battles / Battle Royale battles are as bad as the ingame story ones, then yes... it would really suck in my opinion and could kill your fun.

Ok, that is good to know. As long as it doesn't take you out of the experiance of the story thats ok.

The main kicker will be if it slows down on multiplayer double battles... if it does, since I do want to fight people a lot, I may have to bite the bullet and upgrade for CHristmas.

Thanks a lot for the help :)

1. Its in the Battle Tree. After letting him check a Pokemon, you are then able to check IVs via the PC at ANY Pokemon Center. The Pokemon NURSERY (DayCare) is available very early on the second Island.

2. Not really, but it seems like the Battle Legends have a large pool of Pokemon to choose from.

3. You're gifted a couple, but the rest can be traded for in Festival Plaza for Red/Blue/Green/Yellow Shards which can be obtained via Poke Pelago.

4. Sun & Moon stick to the regional pokedex, post game only lets you go after select post-game stuff like UBs and the Tapus.

Speaking of the Nursery, has a good route of movement been found for egg hatching? Seems like it'd be more of a pain with having movement only via Circle Pad.

How do you even get him to check your Pokémon?
He keeps telling me that I'm not the one he's looking for.

Thank you very much! Does anyone have any info on the US Magearna event?

eworm can you confirm this? Is this affected by Everstone/items? Does this happen when breeding with different species? Do hidden abilities also have a 50/50?

Let's say I leave a male Friend Ball Cottonee and a female HA Snivy caught in a regular Poké Ball in the nursery. Is the resulting offspring able to inherit Contrary and the Friend Ball?
I'm curious about this as well. I'd love to be able to get Volcarona in a Johto ball

As far as I know there isn't a way to get Dream, Sport or Safari Balls. But you can find Moon, LEvel, Heavy, etc via gifts from NPCs and possible purchase them from Festival Plaza.
Wonderful, I love the idea of legacy vanity stuff and am even okay if they come back from time to time, I just rather they not all be brought back at once. ^^

Caught a shiny Bounsweet. My first Gen VII shiny and it's my favorite mon of the gen

My male Mareanie was in a Lure Ball, the female one (HA) in a Beast Ball. The kids hatched in both and they held the usual Everstone+Destiny Knot combo.
Currently testing other options, will keep you updated.

EDIT: Premier Ball Comfey♂ + Beast Ball Bounsweet♀ seems to only inherit the mother's Beast Ball. The 50-50 might be only when breeding same species...

Maybe the chance to inherit the father's pokeball is really low when breeding two different species?

There's also the fact none of the two Pokémon was holding the Everstone this time. I'll try again with two species, but with Everstone this time...
Thanks. There's still hope for that heavy ball charizard.

Can you confirm that the johto/apricorn balls are purchasable somehow? I've seen footage of people finding them randomly, but no one seems to know if you can buy them.
