Also the media is gonna pretend the Falcons don't even exist these next 2 weeks (And thats probably how the Falcons like it)

Most of the Talk is gonna be about Goodell, deflategate and the revenge tour whether ya'll like it or not.

My Steeler fan friends right now are like

The Pro Bowl next week will be more entertaining than the Championship Sunday. Bizarre. And there are people wanting the expansion of playoffs. Besides a game for ages in Packers/Cowboys and a very entertaining game at the end at Steelers x Chiefs, all the other games have been blowouts. It's the first time since 2011 that my Broncos aren't in the playoffs, and I have to see it was pretty boring af.

At least the Super Bowl has everything needed to be fun. It promises a lot of points.

And as Pretzels said, and it has already started, all the talk is on the "delayed revenge tour" and how Roger Goodell will have to watch the Pats and how it would be funny for Goodell to deliver the trophy to Pats owner and whatnot... Really, that was the reason I was rooting for the Steelers, I didn't want to hear all this talk. For sure I won't turn on the TV for analysis and whatnot in the next two weeks. I'll watch the Skills Challenge, because that's the kind of thing I like, if I'm working, then the TV will be on in the Pro Bowl and I'll watch the SB. But yeah, pretty meh playoffs.

Patriots are winning because of the white house visit after the SB.

Really hope Julio torches them. If Matt Ryan's on point, then it'll come down to the defense to continue its upward trend in performance. Just a decent amount of pressure and coverage, and they'll have the upper hand in a shootout.

I think I speak for most Pats fans when I say that I can't bring myself to have a single ounce of animosity towards the Falcons.

But luckily we still have Goodell to fill that void and much much more.
Most non NFC South fans feel this way tbh, being irrelevant for decades and only having moderate success in recent history does that to a franchise. Only team that has a legitimate beef with us is the Vikings and anyone who is still overly sensitive about Vick or Noisegate for some reason

I personally can't wait for all the sports analysts to come out of the woodwork and say that the Falcons were there dark horse candidate the entire season, and how they always knew this offense would be blowing people out in the playoffs. Please.

Also don't be surprised if a story comes out about a totally straight laced Falcons player doing something mostly irrelevant that gets blown out of proportion by the media... cough

Also i've said this before but Malcolm Butler is a top 5 corner.

Locks his guy down every week

He didn't lock Antonio brown down. He had help on every single play from at least one, sometimes two extra dbs and brown still had 7 catches for 77 yards. If it were 1v1 without help he would have been torched and you know it.

He has gotten better over the past few seasons. He was a bit too aggressive early last year and would be wildly out of position on a bunch of deep throws but he's largely got that under control now.

Also, waiting until after the Steelers game to give that hot take is a little disingenuous considering that while he did mostly shut down Antonio Brown in Man Coverage (something like 5 or 6 of Browns catches were against zone coverages) he also had a butt load of safety attention helping out as well. The double team was quite real.

The Super Bowl is gonna be awesome. Rooting for the Pats but I wouldn't be disappointed to see a Falcons win

You know you're doing something right as a franchise when the fans of 31 other teams tune in just to hatewatch you.

I said that way before the steelers game

Hes been great in basically every game this year save the first jets game.

Was a 2nd team all pro this year and a PFF all pro

Here's what I'm worried about (most people who follow football religiously like me probably know this):

I'm worried about the Carolina curse. Last year, the Panthers were ranked 1st in offense for the second half of the season. They blew out teams. Went to the divisional round and took a poop on the Seahawks. Then blew the FUCK out of the Cardinals (by the way, I also love the Cardinals. Second favorite team to the Falcons. Watching that killed me), then lost the superbowl.

Well, you're kidding that the Falcons were ranked 1st in offense, blew out a few teams, pooped on the seahawks in the divisional round, and absolutely raped Green Bay. I hope that history doesn't repeat.

It won't repeat...

My projected score is 38-31 Falcons. If you want to know why ask me.

Carolina curse? Bah. Are you forgetting SB 48? The best offense football has ever seen against the Seahawks Defense, and we were able to muster 8 points in garbage time (bearing in mind that after the second half kickoff, everything became garbage time).

The difference between SB 48/50 and this year's is that the Patriots Defense is not the #1. It's the #3 against the run and #12 against the pass (although it is the best in points).

And throughout the playoffs, it's been the same. Falcons #1 offense, Patriots good against the run, not that good against the pass. It should be an entertaining game, mainly because Falcons D# is getting better.

ha ha ha...

don't remind me ;[

if it's any solace, you guys have a better oline (Remmers LOL), a real WR1 (Ted Ginn doesn't count), and a non-injury prone RB tandem (sorry stew), and while your defense is worse it's nowhere near as let-down worthy as the Panthers D was last year in the 4th quarter (packers, colts, giants, etc.).

I don't want the Falcons to win but I can see it happening.

I concur with everything except the Ted Ginn statement because he was one of the few ballers on Carolina this year but I need to ask you something...

As a Panthers fan (I assume you are)... the Nfc championship last year... at what point did you turn your TV off?

oh this season yes, Ginn has surprisingly been the consistent one (glares at KB). but last season, he had drops during the worst moments (OT in Colts game, Saints 2nd game, and more I can't remember off the top of my head).

I didn't turn the TV off, watched the entire thing.
