Yep, It comes after attack, defence and base power have been factored in and after most other items but before STAB and type effectiveness.

Can Sceptile work as a special sweeper with Life Orb and a Sp. Atk + nature?

I'd really rather use a Timid nature with Life Orb, because there are so many worthwhile things between 339 and 372 Speed. Infernape, Mismagius, Starmie, Gengar, Azelf, Raikou, Ambipom, tying with Alakazam and Dugtrio is pretty cool... So yeah, go with Timid.

If moves that deal recoil damage to the user are used against a substitute, how much recoil damage does the user take? I asked this because on shoddy every time I used brave bird against breloom's sub, crobat receives 25% recoil damage, whereas when I use brave bird against blissey, blissey receives 50% damage while crobat receives ~30% from the recoil. This is only 5% more damage than attacking breloom's sub. I thought the recoil damage is 1/3 of the damage deal. If the sub is only 25% of breloom's health, crobat should only receive 1/3 of that 25%, right? And since crobat has a decent amount of HP, 1/3 of 1/4 of breloom's health shouldn't be equal to 25% of crobat's.

anyone?

Wow, I do not know what happened here.

My friend was playing D/P, trying to chain Dittos on Route 218. Then all of a sudden, a patch started shining, so he walked there to check. When he got there, he found a Shiny Piplup (level 30, knew Hyperbeam O_O). I know he didn't lie because I saw it happen. Can anyone explain how or why this could have happened? >_>
BTW, I know for a fact he doesn't have an AR and that he has no hacked Pokemon whatsoever in his game.

EDIT: He has no proof because he ran away from it. He was scared of having a glitched Pokemon in his game, but I know that it happened because he showed me.

Save before picking up the egg from the old man. When he has an egg for you, the nature and ability of the pokemon in it is set, but the IVs are not. Therefore, if you save before picking up the egg and it hatches with the correct nature and ability but wrong/bad IVs, you can simply reset and hatch another with the same nature and ability with different IVs.

[edit: oops, too late.]
Does this work in Emerald?

Yes. And R/S FR/LG as well.
At least my friend told me it works in these games.
But in emerald I'm sure. I do this all the time.

Anyways, Gender is also set. Helps a lot if you want something like a Female Snorlax with good IVs.

If Thief, Covet, or Knock Off are used against a pokemon holding a focus sash, and the attack would have normally OHKO'd, would the sash be stolen or knocked off or would it activate before getting ganked or swatted?

EDIT: Nevermind, I already got answered elsewhere. Not like the info'd be really practical to begin with, eh?

Thank you Davy. Ill keep Lanturn in mind and will use it if I cant find anything else. But uh, I know this sounds kind of silly but, Im using pokemon i like in my team, so would Lunatone, be in anyway, at least a decent sp.wall, if i teach it things like light screen?

I'm still thinking about getting an AR or not so I can clone myself when i need to. Should I? Btw, if I get one and use the quick hatch cheat, will it count as cheating? As most of you know, I can't breed anymore because school is taking up my time, so I have no time to breed for anymore Pokemon. =(.

Lunatone has 85 base stat sp.def.
My team is:Sharpedo,Mismagius,Sceptile,Arcanine,Steelix/Lanturn or Lunatone.

I was worried about having a second water type.

@Too_Hungry: I think that's a good idea, makes cloning much more convienent, I was thinking of buying an AR too. And I wouldn't really say that the quick hatch cheat is really "hacking" but that's just my opinion. >_>
@Mario: What is that last slot going to be? A special wall?

I have a question of my own:
Should I take a break from D/P for a while to play Emerald? Is it really that worth it? (Just need to ask before I really start.)

Thanks for responding...

@Zero.EXE- Depends on what you're hoping to get out of emerald, but for breeding purposes, it's well worth it, plus the fact that you can easily clone whatever you breed (or catch if legend SRing is your thing). Unlimited TMs 1-50, and other items doesn't hurt either.
@Too_Hungry- it's technically hacking since you're expediting the process.

For Zero.EXE: its supposed to be a sp.wall.
And I guess starting Emerald would be fine, so later you can transfer some TM's or other items to D/P

How long would you say it would take to breed an acceptable Smogon-standard (lol) Pokemon in Emerald (including the time it takes to beat the game and everything)? I'm just wondering because I've been pretty short on time lately. >_>
