Oh dear, Mr Aboveposter. Sticking a Pikachu tail isn't really what they had in mind. Nonetheless it is an improvement. I would suggest Electivire's tail cords if they weren't so... typical of an electric sprite. Perhaps you should try it anyway. The Scorpion King needs to have his waist sorted out. It doesn't fit properly. Remove the mask too and clean up the pincers. The human/pokemon divide could be fixed up a little too.
Suggestions? Um... Well I suppose I could try. In many cases, it is a good idea to use two Pokemon for the base, though I personally like to avoid having a particular base.
See the Deoxys torso combined with the Scizor abdoman? (Bad spelling, I know). You see, balance is very important in such fusions. The trick is fitting 3 Pokemon into the space you would usually use for 2.
Check out Flyther:
Check out the main body. It is made of Butterfree's torso and Finneon connected with Scyther's waist. In three-Poke fusions detatil becomes even more important because it makes things flow. Some scratching ability is needed too.
Again, Heatoleon teaches us the importance of how things fit together. See how well Heatran's body combines with Empoleon's? A lot of scratch work went into filling in the space behind Empoleon's wings. Scratching doesn't need to be too detailed if it is going to be covered up by something else. In this case, Skorupi's tail, as an arm, does this.
It is also important to keep plenty of backups in your work space. Things go wrong often, or would be better if you had gone another way. Fixing you mistakes ca take a long time.
Here was my workspace half way through the construction of Scizoxyken. There are sprites and pieces of sprites all around the area. It can be very useful, if a little untidy. Also, keep saving.
A trademark of my sprite work as you all will have noticed are my coloured backgrounds. Why do you think that is? Well, the software I use for spriting is Paint. If your background is white, moving a pice with some white on it will make the white the colour of what in underneath it. I pick a colour that is a light shade because it is a lot less over powering. Also it makes it all nicer to view.
I would also like to reiterate my point of using the a and b sprites.
Four pairs of wings. Two came from the a sprite and two from the b. This makes it look better than if it was made of both wings used twice.
Also, be aware of the back sprites. It is unlikely that you will use them. I have only done so once. Just know that they are there.
See the spike coming off it's leg? It came from the back sprite of Kabutops.
I hope you got all that. Thankyou GTS for asking for my advice. It makes me feel good.
Good idea, about the both sets. I'll try that next time.
It's extremely simple, ALMOST copy-and-paste job.
I'll keep trying...Any suggestions?
