This is Brock here. I'm about to bring you a battle of mine, from about a month ago, taking place in a place called Shoddy. After constantly tagging along Ash for seasons, making sure he brushed his teeth and kept his fork out of the toaster, I was going crazy. So I loaded up my best Pokes, training and evolving a few, and went to make my battling debut!
Here is my battle against someone named Dark Android. It was a pretty short battle, but you can see why from his team.
Brock's (Blaziken's) Team:
-Crobat
-Blissey
-Swampert
-Toxicroak
-Forretress
-Ninetales
Dark Android's Team:
-Azelf
-Gyarados
-Gengar
-Bronzong
-Garchomp
-Electivire
His team is very offensive. VERY offensive. (Note: Both teams are listed by order of appearence)
Rules: Evasion Clause, Freeze Clause, OHKO Clause, Sleep Clause
Dark Android sent out Azelf (“Naruto”).
Blaziken_57 sent out Crobat.
An excellent match-up for me. Since I'm not entirely sure that Choice Banded Brave Bird will kill, I'll U-Turn the heck outta here, which actually really dents fragile Psychic- and Dark-types.
Crobat used U-turn.
It's super effective!
(84% Damage)
Blaziken_57 switched in Blissey.
Azelf used Psychic.
(22% Damage)
Azelf lost 10% from Life Orb.
Blissey's leftovers restored HP.
I'm glad it was holding a Life Orb, meaning that it had just one turn left in it before it snuffed it. Looking back, Softboiled should have been the smartest move, but for whatever reason I thought it would switch, and I used Thunder Wave. Azelf stayed in to smack Bliss with a Critical Hit Psychic, causing 47% damage and killing itself in the process, and I Thunder Wave'd thin air. Blissey was left with 43%. 5-6 Blaziken
Dark Android switched in Gyarados ("Scary d00d").
Gyarados's intimidate cut Blissey's attack!
Blaziken_57 switched in Swampert.
Gyarados used Taunt.
Swampert didn’t mind Taunt, as it lacked Roar anyways. The downside, however, was that it also lacked Stone Edge, or anything that could immediately threaten Gyara, for that matter. This was not looking good, as my team lacked any solid Gyara counter, which is a major drawback to running theme teams.
Gyarados used Dragon Dance.
Gyarados's attack rose.
Gyarados's speed rose.
Swampert used Avalanche.
A critical hit!
(26% Damage)
Gyarados's leftovers restored HP.
I got lucky, but that Avalanche did so little that it hardly matters. Since I have nothing that can really switch into and threaten Gyarados, I'll wear it out with Avalanches so Sucker Punch from Toxicroak KOs.
After several turns of Dragon Dancing and Avalanches, Gyarados was at +6 Att and +6 Speed, and had around 40% of its health.
Gyarados used Waterfall.
(99% Damage)
Swampert flinched!
GAH! Bad time for flinch hax. Basically Gyarados gets free Leftovers recovery. A full power Avalanche does like 25% to Gyarados, so that would have helped a lot. Oh well. At this point I assume I can kill it with Toxicroak to hopefully sweep.
Gyarados used Ice Fang.
(1% Damage)
Blaziken_57's Swampert fainted.
Gyarados's leftovers restored HP.
Blaziken_57 switched in Toxicroak.
5-5
Toxicroak is a pretty obscure threat, I hope he doesn't know about Dry Skin so I can get two Swords Dances.
Gyarados used Ice Fang.
(99% Damage)
Toxicroak hung on using its Focus Sash!
Toxicroak used Swords Dance.
Toxicroak's attack was sharply raised.
Gyarados's leftovers restored HP.
I guess he did, but I got a SD anyways. At this point I still assume I can finish it off with one Swords Dance-boosted Sucker Punch. I was about to see how bulky Gyarados can be.
Toxicroak used Sucker Punch.
(45% Damage... SHIT...)
Gyarados used Ice Fang.
A critical hit! (lol)
Toxicroak lost 1% of its health.
Blaziken_57's Toxicroak fainted.
Gyarados's leftovers restored HP.
Blaziken_57 switched in Forretress.
5-4 Dark Android
Dammit! I always assumed that Gyarados was pretty frail without Intimidate first. Now I have to sacrifice my Forretress to Explode. This is a tip kids, never leave home without a Gyarados counter even on theme teams. Just stick HP Electric on something if you have to! (Which I did right after the battle)
Gyarados used Waterfall.
(88% Damage)
Forretress used Explosion.
(12% Damage)
Dark Android's Gyarados fainted.
Blaziken_57's Forretress fainted.
Dark Android switched in Gengar ("Spookshire").
Blaziken_57 switched in Crobat.
4-3 Dark Android
Thank god he didn't switch to Gengar to take the Explosion. Since he probably knows I'm Choice Banded, I bet he'll switch.
Crobat used Pursuit.
It's super effective!
(65% Damage)
Gengar used Thunderbolt.
It's super effective!
(82% Damage)
Gengar's Black Sludge restored HP.
Nope, I guess not. Damn, Brave Bird would have had a decent shot of OHKO'ing it. Oh well, Crobat's 85/80/80 defenses saved the day.
Crobat used Pursuit.
It's super effective!
(41% Damage)
Dark Android's Gengar fainted.
Dark Android switched in Bronzong ("The John").
3-3
Oh come on, he's not a freakin' toilet. Anyways, I'm locked into Pursuit, so fearing Hypnosis, I turn to my only reasonable status-absorber.
Blaziken_57 switched in Blissey.
Bronzong used Gyro Ball.
(26% Damage)
Blissey's leftovers restored HP.
Despite 10 Base Defense, Blissey can take physical hits reasonably well. Thunder Wave is obvious, so I'll just heal a little HP and see who he brings out. I thought that rather casually, but what he brought out scared the hell out of me.
Dark Android switched in Garchomp ("Checkmate").
Blissey used Softboiled.
Blissey restored 50% of its health.
Blissey's leftovers restored HP.
Yikes! Both my Garchomp counters are dead, so his nickname seemed quite appropriate. PLEASE be a Swords Dancer!
Garchomp used Swords Dance.
Garchomp's attack was sharply raised.
Blissey used Ice Beam.
It's super effective!
(88% Damage)
Blissey's leftovers restored HP.
YES, I can't believe that worked out. If it was a Choice Bander, no one else on my team could have killed it before it destroyed me with Outrage, and if it were a Scarfer, I'd only get one Ice Beam against it before it swept me. Now I can sacrifice Blissey to kill it off with Crobat. 3-2 Dark Android I should note that it took Life Orb recoil so it wasn't staying around long anyways.
I think he's going to switch, so I'll U-Turn.
Crobat used U-turn.
(27% Damage)
Dark Android's Garchomp fainted.
Blaziken_57 switched in Ninetales.
Dark Android switched in Electivire ("Yellow Sub")
2-2
I run a double-status Ninetails, and I'm max speed Timid, so unless this is one of those rare Scarf 'Vires (which would actually destroy me), I can Will-o-wisp it before it can kill me with EQ.
Ninetales used Will-o-wisp.
Electivire was burned!
Electivire used Earthquake.
It's super effective!
(67% Damage)
Ninetales's leftovers restored HP.
Electivire was hurt by its burn.
Now it's time for Crobat's re-appearance.
Blaziken_57 switched in Crobat.
Electivire used Earthquake.
It doesn't affect Crobat...
Electivire was hurt by its burn.
He's switching to Bronzong so I'm U-Turning to Ninetails.
Dark Android switched in Bronzong.
Crobat used U-turn.
(23% Damage)
Blaziken_57 switched in Ninetales.
Ninetales's leftovers restored HP.
Bronzong's leftovers restored HP
Can a max SpAtt Flamethrower be enough to OHKO? I hope so, but I'm not too sure. I hope it's not Heatproof.
Ninetales used Flamethrower.
It's super effective!
A critical hit!
(100% Damage)
Dark Android's Bronzong fainted.
Ninetales's leftovers restored HP.
Dark Android switched in Electivire.
1-2 Blaziken
That was lucky. Steel-types utterly wall my Crobat, so I'm glad my Ninetales put it away. Now victory is assured.
Ninetales used Flamethrower.
(56% Damage)
Electivire used Thunderbolt.
(40% Damage)
Ninetales's leftovers restored HP.
Electivire was hurt by its burn.
Heh I guess he predicted another Crobat switch. Time to finish him off with a...
OH SHIT PLOT TWIST
Dark Android has left the room.
Blaziken_57 wins!
Wow. >.>
Props:
-Swampert and Forry for taking +6 hits from Gyarados O.O
-Ninetales for burning 'Vire and killing Bronzong
-Crobat for killing Gengar and Garchomp, and U-Turning stuff
-Blissey for walling Azelf and crippling Garchomp
-Roy the moderator for approving this warstory!
Slops:
-My opponent for D/C'ing without a GG or whatever
-Me for my "plot twist" I 'borrowed' from one of Firestorm's warstories
-Gyarados for running through my team and flinch-haxing my Swampert
-Toxicroak for not quite killing Gyara
-On an unrelated note I recently saw Indiana Jones and it was a good movie, but the ending was too gruesome, I mean come on, the guy's friggen head explodes
Morals:
-Study Smogon, learn more about BL and UU Pokemon such as Toxicroak, it could save your Gyarados one day
-Whoever says "Gyara 6-0's you with one DD" never carried a Forretress with them
-Never leave home without a Gyara counter, or else it will run through your team
-Theme teams can work, dammit!
