Chinchou @ Berry Juice
Level: 5
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 76 HP / 212 Def / 152 SpA / 60 Spe
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Volt Switch
- Ice Beam / Hidden Power Ground
- Thunder Wave / Hidden Power Ground

Chinchou's Water / Electric typing gives it a niche as a handy pivot that can counter a unique set of threats. It can switch into Flying-, Water-, Fire-, and Electric-types and then fire off a Volt Switch against them to gain momentum. Berry Juice lets Chinchou switch into these foes multiple times, compensating for its lack of recovery. Chinchou can also paralyze foes, which is very useful, as Speed is crucial in LC. As a slow pivot, Chinchou is able to support frail teammates that struggle to get in safely, like Gastly, Doduo, and Wingull. Unfortunately, Chinchou struggles with Ground-types because although they are weak to Scald, they make it unsafe for Chinchou to use Volt Switch, as they can switch in easily and OHKO it. Diglett is especially troublesome because it can trap Chinchou. This makes Snivy and Corphish fantastic teammates, as they can beat Ground-types and retaliate against Diglett by applying immediate offensive pressure. Counters to Grass-types, such as Vullaby and Foongus, are also good teammate options.

Mention Chinchou's lack of recovery (on this set) and why berry juice is optimal.
Mention Thunder Wave, as it's one of the best users in the tier.

This means that Snivy makes a fantastic teammate, as it can take care of Ground-types and retaliate against Diglett's trapping of Chinchou by applying immediate offensive pressure.
Like the use of snivy, but throw in another pokemon here too. Chinchou is often used on Water spam in the current meta so something like Corphish or Carv would be a good fit here.

Excellent work!

Chinchou's Water / Electric typing gives it a niche as a handy pivot that can counter a unique set of threats. It can switch into Flying-types, Water-types, Fire-types, (KEEP THE HYPHEN ON ALL OF THESE, JUST REMOVE "TYPES") and Electric-types and then fire off a Volt Switch against them to gain momentum. Berry Juice lets it Chinchou switch into these foes multiple times, compensating for its lack of recovery. Chinchou can also paralyze foes, which is very useful, (AC) as with Speed being is crucial in LC. As a slow pivot, it Chinchou is able to support frail teammates that struggle to get in safely, like Gastly, Doduo, and Wingull, (RC) with free switches. (implied) Unfortunately, Chinchou suffers from the presence of struggles with Ground-types because, (RC) although they are weak to Scald, they make it unsafe for Chinchou to use Volt Switch, as they can switch in easily and OHKO it. Diglett is especially troublesome because it can trap Chinchou. This makes Snivy and Corphish fantastic teammates, as they can beat Ground-types and retaliate against Diglett's trapping of Chinchou by applying immediate offensive pressure.
