Typing: The Mod

since everyone's doing it i might as well give my thoughts on types

Tbh given that the whole point of this type is just to make sure Light works properly (which could also be done in ways that don't permanently scar the type chart), and the fact that I can't imagine any moves for it, I don't like this one.
Also the Tapus are really morally ambiguous, especially Tapu "gives you cancer and/or immense thirst for violence, all for its own amusement" Lele.
Actually, scratch that, Tapu Lele is just plain evil.

Now this, this is the stuff. Though, in my opinion, Necrozma should be Light-type in all forms, because it is literally a being that, at core, is composed of light.

I can't wait for Water 2-type, Ditto-type, and Humanshape-type

Good concept, but glass is Rock, not Ice (see Nihilego... outside of this mod, anyway). Also, sound travels faster through solids, and if you want to go "oh, but it muffles it", so does water.

Half of those aren't even chaotic, and holy shit those matchup reasonings. Do you even know what a fairy is? Since when has Steel represented cities????? what????

Half of this is just Poison 2, and the other half is Wood-tier reasoning for why this isn't Poison 2. Half of the "non-Poison" options are 'mons that should have been Poison-type in the first place. Electric eels aren't even really eels. And no, no mention of acid is made in Accelgor's 'dex entries, though there are a few mentions of poison.

This is a type you don't see every day, and it has an awful lot of fitting 'mons. I'd personally cut Heatmor and add Guzzlord, but meh. Not sure how matchups would work, but it could be made to happen. If the winning type isn't Light or Blood, I want it to be this one.
Each type can stand out, but I do agree that Acid and Chaos should need more diversity if they want to win, like how Monster, Blood and Food managed to be more applicable than they seems at first.

I will also add the whole Necrozma forms, not just Ultra Necrozma (since this means getting back STAB consistency with Photon Geyser and Prismatic Laser no matter the form). I realized that we got a good amount of Space-type Legends (forms being counted as different ones), so replacing all of Necrozma forms' Space by Light will make the forms more distinct than Solgaleo and Lunala (and Palkia and Mega Lati@s considering that Ultra Necrozma is Space/Dragon right now).

Space light makes sense cuz all of the other legends are dual typed. But here is the kicker - make Light the primary typing. That makes Necrozma Dusk Light/Steel and Dawn Light/Ghost, allowing them to differentiate themselves from the Space duo

That is exactly my plan! This also means Light/Dragon Ultra Nrcrozma. Good to know that you thought of that too.

I'm quite surprised that Pike Extreme didn't gave anything to point out other than "Make all Necrozma forms a Light-type" thing. I guess I really succeeded to make Light-type a true element like Fire, Ice and Water instead of the now-cliched "Good-type". Even if it would never win, I am so proud of my version right now.

I also appreciate the support some of you give to my version of Light-type. And I know that no one doesn't want this to win, it is just that others prefer the others, less common and more unique types to have a chance first, so no harms done!

Maybe some months after Gen 8 is released and that Pet Mods are opened again, I might do a "make many things as good as possible" Pet Mod where Light-type (and another Type, preferably the one more in-line the likes of Monster, Blood and Food) do exist. Would it hurt if I call Light-type the underdog over here does to the support despite not winning yet? With such support, it might inevitably win (before or after Sound, Blood and/or Food).

Well, it's not just to make sure light works properly, although that's the main reason I made it. It's supposed to be the type about protecting others and the type that is supposed to create the true counterpart to dark-type that people want. I do have a bunch of new moves for it personally, my main problem is trying to think of retypable, already-existing moves. Talking about The Tapus, they fit the part of hero-type about protecting others. The tapus are literally guardians, after all. But yeah, Tapu lele isn't actually the best pokemon, but it does protect others. It could be argued as a force for good, but not something good itself. As for necrozma and light-type, I don't think necrozma-base should be light-type because the whole reason it fuses with other pokemon is to steal it's light. if we ever get a shadow-type/void-type, i think base necrozma should be that type + space, while ultra-necrozma is light as that's it "complete" in a sense. and then Dusk mane and Dawn wings stay the same as they already fit both of their typings better than either shadow/void or light.

The thing is that Necrozma's signature moves, Photon Geyser (and the Z-Move Light that Burns the Sky) and Prismatic Laser didn't become Space-type and thus lost its STAB status, while Shadow/Void would not really fit those moves either. Making those Light-type, alongside the entirety of Necrozma, not only give it STAB back but also make it more consistent, as Necrozma going from Shadow/Space (with the formes having Space too) to Ultra Necrozma as Light/Dragon is not only inconsistent, but also still deprive regular Necrozma from STAB.

Actually, necrozma going to shadow/space to light/space makes sense because of what necrozma is. Yes, going from shadow/space to light/dragon is inconsistent, but that's implying we keep necrozma as dragon-type, which...... i'd argue against, honestly. Light/Space works much, much better for it than dragon-type does. And in terms of the story of necrozma, it's something from another world that sucks up light to try and complete itself, which would fit a void-type if we ever make one. Making it light-type would ruin what necrozma is supposed to be, IMO. Yeah, it's signature moves would make less sense, but i think that fits with the story of necrozma. It's not great for balancing, of course, but we could give it another signature move as well, since we create new moves with each slate, or those moves may not even stay as necrozma's signature if people decide to give it to other pokemon. But again, i want to stress that necrozma's regular form shouldn't be light-type because it somewhat cheapens what regular necrozma is supposed to be: an incomplete whole, trying to suck up any light it can to complete itself to become Necrozma-Ultra. Besides, you can't even turn a regular necrozma into necrozma-ultra unless you change the form outside of battle, so it's not like you'd have to plan for the complete type-shift if we don't make it light/space (Which necrozma-ultra should be, honestly)

Ultimately, when Light-type win, its more of people choice if base Necrozma will get Light-type or not. Your reasoning makes sense story-wise, though.

Of course. I'll accept whatever choice people make. Be it Pure Light, Light/Space, Pure Space, Void/Space, Pure Void, or, if you want to see the world burn, Void/Light. I do think a space/Light Ultra-Necrozma would be really cool though, instead of a Light/Dragon one, personally.

Noble type
Noble-type includes Pokemon who have elements of justice, courage, righteousness, and honor in their actions, intent, and presence. While these concepts are typically associated with the Fighting-type, there are others that exude nobility as well. Noble-type Pokemon fight honorably, even against the unjust or evil, with high self-discipline and with the intent to aid. They may also attempt rescuing other Pokemon or people. This is separate from Fighting-types that just like to fight as well as violence-oriented Pokemon, who Noble-types will bravely fight against when the time comes.
Example Pokemon: Hariyama line (Fighting/Noble), Lucario base form only (Noble/Fighting), Gallade and Mega (Psychic/Noble), Cobalion/Terrakion/Virizion/Keldeo (replace Fighting with Noble), Chesnaught (Grass/Noble), Kommo-o line (Dragon/Noble), Serperior (Grass/Noble), Absol (Dark/Noble), Latios and Mega (Dragon/Noble), Slowking (Water/Noble), Arcanine line (Fire/Noble), Pyroar (Fire/Noble), Braviary (Noble/Flying), Empoleon (Water/Noble), Wailord (Water/Noble)
Example retyped moves: Noble Roar, Sacred Sword, Secret Sword, Quick Guard, Wide Guard, Retaliate, False Swipe

I personally can’t see much reason to make a Hero-type if Noble-type were to exist. As I described it, Noble-type does not refer to “kindness” which I attribute more to Heart-type. Nor does Noble-type refer to wealth and nobility. Noble-type should include heroism and therefore Hero-type, so to me it would be tricky for both of them to exist separately.

The way you describe it is not just being a hero, but being a hero who fights for others and always fights honorably, which locks out a lot of pokemon that can be considered in the normal "hero" type (Like infernape, pangoro) and makes it too similar to just fighting-type rn, then. Also makes pokemon like Kommo-o, Absol, and Pyroar make no sense as noble as well, in my opinion. Absol doesn't really fight, Pyroar only makes sense if you count nobility into the noble type, since lions are considered noble. and Kommo-o doesn't really make sense in hero-type either.

When I see Noble as a typing, it would encompass all aspects of nobility, like royalty/regal, heroism, order the general boudoir stuff that makes superman proud. With abstract types like that, a Pokemon can reflect one or more of those features without revolving around all of them. The Swords of Justice have no royal stuff about them, but they are heroic as they can get, being based on real world Hero's The Three Musketeers. As hard as you try, in my opinion, Hero and Noble can't stand together as two solid separate typing. One is gonna feel like a short stick of the other. And Noble to me is overall the better typing.

Noble also consists of upper-class twits the likes of which you want to hate, as well as those who think they're better by birthright. Not necessarily evil, but these noblemen are often classified in DnD as Lawful Neutral or Lawful Evil.

Not that I have any problem with it consisting of both aspects.

I don't like that idea, not just because i'm hero-type. Mostly because it says, basically, "heroes have to be kind and noble.", which isn't the case at all. And, unfortunately, you can't really be noble-type without being in some way noble to me. For example of Heroes who aren't kind and noble, Think of characters like Batman or Deadpool, who are definitely heroes, but calling them "noble" would be stupid. and also, if you read exactly what the person wants the type to be, they want it to be specifically about pokemon who fight fairly, which is EXACTLY what fighting-type is supposed to be, IMO.

So, no Royal, No kindness, specifically those who fight fairly, which i think makes it hard to argue that noble-type is the better if brought up in this way. If I was able to create both types, i wouldn't do it how dilsac wants to do it and

, I'd make noble-type about being upstanding and kind and, well, noble, while i'd make hero-type about those who protect others. There wouldn't be overlap except a few pokemon, which, you could argue, that would be the best places to cement their differences. I can understand if you think they're too similar, but, in my opinion, they're only too similar if we try to force them to be, and I don't think the noble-type should be about fighting fairly. That's what Fighting-type is. That's why it's good against dark, it's showing that those who fight fair would beat tricks, along with it slowly turning into the "hero-type." I'm going to link a video that i think shows what the fighting-type is supposed to be so people can understand where i'm coming from this. sorry if I messed up on something. watch?v=egF0-vq2TZU

Fish Type
Aka Water 2 typing
Aka its not quite a troll type, but almost?

Before you ask anything, yes, this is a water-type cut-off, a shameless unoriginal cut-off. But even though water type doesn't deserve a cut-off, it definitely needs one. How many times have you heard the expression "bulky water type"? How many pokemons have been ignored, disrespected because they fell into that category, but weren't the best at it? With this new typing, we can give to all those pokemon the niche and the differenciation they deserve. And it's not like water-type will suffer from being cut into half: it's the second most populated (?) typing after normal.

Possible matchups could include a weakness to fire and flying, and resistances to grass, fighting and ice.

Possible retypings? Uuuuuh.... Every Water 2 pokemon (lol), Kyogre (so normal Groudon finally finds justice), Eelektross line and probably other things.

Oookay... I don't care if it is a joke or not, I don't think I could think of new moves other than things like "Fish Bite", "Fish Tail", "Fish Dance", etc, and I don't see how Fish Type can really differentiate from Water other than being more about the species and focus on Water 2.

BTW, since people are giving their favoriter Water 2 Pokemon, mine is Lanturn. (If this somehow wins, this will get stat buffed.)

Hey, if dragon type gets to do that, i don't see why fish-type can't. Also,

awfully hypocritical of you to support acid but not water 2

acid's just poison 2 after all

Its not like I really want Acid- eh, Poison 2 win either anyways, especially after you pointed out that it is essentially Poison 2 with the reasoning being too weak to being separated from Poison.

It's sure that it's gonna be quite hard to find original and interesting moves. But I'm sure that if insect and dragon types managed to get a decent amount of cool moves, fish can too.

I dunno, being SE vs Steel and Water isn't very Poison. Also Citrus isn't very Poison type.

And people say I get too serious about this...
I think he's talking about the pokemon, not the matchup. It's somewhat true, but then again, so is ground and rock, and that's fine.
I'm just glad we aren't talking about hero and noble anymore. watch me saying that making people talking about it again.

The problem, I think, people have with acid typing, is that there are only a few pokemon that could have this typing, even by stretching it to the maximum. Poison also has a really small pool of pokemons compared to other more common typings, so both poison and acid would have little to no representatives in higher tiers.
