NOC Reinforcements SCUM WIN.

also re: asking people about hal

tbh, it wasn't intentional to ask two people about the same person. I asked Asek about hal because I wanted to hear his comments on probably the most controversial person in the game - and was kind of disappointed by the shallowness of it.

Then I asked duskfall, because I figured his slot might be easier to read and ended up asking him about well, the most contriversial player I could think of. Frankly, neither ask was about the person I was asking, I just wanted to see some content from each person.

Okay, I am actually scum reading Apricity here.

There's a few reasons.

1. The vote on me yesterday. It's hard to explain, but that vote feels super in line with apricity's scum game. I do want to note here, I haven't seen enough of his game play to feel 100% confident on this. But I went back over 2d3 just to see if there was any major difference to note between the games. The thing I noted a lot about town = apricity from 2d3, is that there apricity really explained a lot. He would talk out his reasoning, he would look at people and frankly, played pretty well.

Meanwhile in this game, he's been very reckless and poor reasoning, jumping back and forth without talking why. Besides that in general being pretty scummy, it's very in line with how he played in that last metal sonic game, where he and I were scum.

Which is to say

If he were town: I think he wouldn't have let himself tunnel as much as he has. He would have done more to explain himself and his reasoning instead of clinging to reasons that don't make sense, and are probably lies.

If he were mafia: I would expect his play to resemble that metal sonic game, greek mafia, where he was very nonsencial, jumped around a lot without explaining why and usually had big gaps in his logic.

This is the same town hal from 2d3 that literally said "I'm lock town so I don't need to explain anymore I'm just going to vote and like posts". That's a paraphrase but it was D2.

You did, but you did that because you took an active role and engaged. Narrowing down town people until you got a POE.

Here, you've played rather passively. Pushing people, but not really following up and engaging with them in the same way. Then not to mention, your complete lack of solid reasons for your actions.

Combine that with your slip from earlier, and yeah, you be scum.

I very much disagree with that. But I guess it is in line with your post from last game.

the nice thing about playing town is that there are only two things i need to do

1. identify scum
2. convince other town to lynch scum

1. doesn't require me to explain my thinking and in fact explaining my thinking hinders my ability to catch scum, because then scum will be aware of what i am looking out for and adjust behavior accordingly. 2. can take a variety of forms, i /could/ try to force people onto my wagons by making cases, or i could just vote where i see fit and see who comes to the same conclusions i do. those who do come to the same conclusions i do will most likely be of the same alignemnt (or at least be advancing the town wincon this game)

But it's still very bad logic.
