I agree that apricity isn't lock town by any case.
But here's what I see for the cop claiming.
We don't have a number of people that feel really towny. Which is a nice base. We also have a nice opportunity this game in that we have a cop and a back up cop.
If a cop claims today, they end up clearing both themselves and another play. But more importantly, it starts a clock for the number of turns the mafia can use their actions.
....and at this point I went back and realized it was a 2x strongman and not a 1x strongman like I thought.
See, with a 1x strongman, it would have worked out well since it would have forced them to use it on the first cop and then all they could do is hook the 2nd cop for a few turns, while we have two doctors that can heal them. However factoring in that they have two strongman's and not one, I don't really like that idea nearly as much.
Then again, there is a chance they used it last night. Frankly, a kill on texas was bold because any decent doctor should have been on him. Meaning (and I hope this is the case because if not, I'm sorry doc, that was a poor play) there's a good chance the doc did protect him lastnight and they burned a strongman on him. This is 100% speculation, but I really hope it's the case as if it's not, it's a sad thing for town.
