Do we still not have a sword and shield good cores page? I think the page should at least be up and people can add to it. There are no team building resources up yet but the ladder is up...
This is still being worked on.

Remember the game has only been out for a week, and there have been various changes (and still more fixes that need to be implemented). Patience, my friend, is all we ask.

Oh of course I'm sorry man I know you're hard at work I just thought a good cores page wouldn't hurt just to help people build. I'm a terrible builder but a good battler so I use the resources lol.

so, how is max move base power calculated exactly? Do we even know for sure yet?
I've been assuming that it's just a flat 1.5x BP multiplier but knowing how jank GF like to be I doubt it's actually that straightforward

There's actually a known pattern of base power > Max move base power that's well documented.

I don't remind it on top of my head, but there's one and it's not linear. Max moves also cap at 140 (from 120 bp attacks) and the only Max Moves with 150 BP are from > 140 BP base attacks (like Explosion)
(Also, Max-poison and Max-fighting have reduced power compared to their variants of other elements due to providing +atk and +spatk respectively)

I didn't see jellicent in the thread reservation. Since this thing is a really good check (they aren't so many) to Galarian-darmanitan, I think it would be good to talk about him.
I know the thread is closed now but i'd like to reserve jellicent.
Is that possible ?

This was mostly to discuss brand new changes. It may get an analysis regardless, but you can discuss Jellicent and its impact in the meta in the Metagame Thread.
Is there any thread to discuss nat dex OU? Its not in OMs and Im really curious about how that particular meta is developing
If it's not in OMs at this time, I don't believe there would be a thread for it until some time has passed. As I've mentioned before we are not the ones responsible for the National Dex metagame. I apologize for the inconvenience of this and not having a proper answer to your question.

In the end how does Body Press work? How much increases the power according to the defense of the user? Does it take into account changes in stats?

Hogg posted them the other day in the Metagame Discussion thread (credit goes to Marty), and I put them in the first post of that thread. I'll go ahead and put them here too.

EVs: 252 Def / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Earthquake
- Taunt

not sure if this fits here but: Did I understand it correctly that the "standard" OU will be the one replicating the ingame pokemon list (aka the one without the majority of old mons), and the one with "all" mons will be an OM?

That is correct, yes.

The OU you are currently playing will remain our "standard" OU as that is the one that follows closely to the cartridge mechanics*.

* With some exceptions like Sleep Clause.

Will Clefable's Hidden Ability be released when Pokémon Home goes up? Why is it unreleased in the first place?

its been researched that not all raid pokemon have their hidden abilities available. clefable being one of them. it's unknown if it will be available when home comes out because game freak isn't allowing some moves to get transfered over, so we can't know for sure afaik. however it is quite likely that it gets released as home comes out!

Thanks a lot. Surprised to see Dragapult so high, and Corsola not on the list at all. Also no Hawlucha ?

Eviolite Carkol might be a viable alternative to Coalossal- 80/90/70 Defenses at +1 might allow it to survive some hits that Coalossal can't, any thoughts on this?

Where can I find the current clauses for OU? I was trying to pilot a shadow tag team someone built early last week only to find shadow tag is banned now.

Hello fellow trainers, I'm TOTALLY new to battling (so new that I still struggle to remember type weaknesses) and I'm looking for some advice. I know that this is going to be more than a "simple question that requires a simple answer", but I didn't really know where to open a thread, so if there is a place to do so, please link me the forum section and I'll gladly repost there.

Considering that I want to battle on the Switch (I feel dumb playing on a custom made browser game instead of the proper game which I paid for), so I can't go trying new strategies willy nilly since breeding requires quite some time, and I need to have a proper idea in mind in order to be effective, what would you consider a beginner friendly team and strategy?
I've been looking around a bit, and the only thing I really understood is that your main damage dealers are required to have some kind of coverage, like placing ice moves on a water type in order to protect it from a grass type, but I have no idea about the rest.
Also, why are some pokemons like Ferrothorn considered meta?

Thanks in advance for your answers \o/

What are the rotom-wash sets running currently in terms of nature and spreads?

I’m running a balanced duel screens team, and wanted to utilized rotom as a gyarados check.
