[SET COMMENTS]
Frosmoth's access to the coveted Quiver Dance along with its good Special Attack allows it to serve as a mediocre setup sweeper in OU. Its fantastic ability in Ice Scales doubles its Special Defense, which can generate set up opportunities against special attackers like Gengar and Toxtricity, and it has excellent power after just one boost. Unfortunately, its inability to hit Steel-types hard, middling Speed tier, bad physical Defense, and horrible defensive typing in Ice / Bug hold it back in the metagame. As a result, it is outclassed by other, more consistent setup sweepers such as Hawlucha, Gyarados, and Kommo-o. Ice Beam and Bug Buzz are the STAB moves of choice and allow Frosmoth to break some bulkier Pokemon such as Hippowdon, Mandibuzz, and Tyranitar. These can be backed up by Hurricane, which is Frosmoth's best option against Toxapex while also providing it with Max Airstream should it choose to Dynamax, or Giga Drain, which helps with threats such as Pyukumuku and Jellicent. Heavy-Duty Boots is the item of choice, as Frosmoth is terribly weak to all entry hazards.
Frosmoth fits best on offensive teams that can provide it with the large amount of support it needs to do its job properly. Strong wallbreakers, particularly those that can deal with the Steel-types that Frosmoth struggles with, are good partners. This makes help from the likes of Dracovish, Mamoswine, and Galarian Darmanitan extremely helpful. Toxapex is another major threat because, even at +1, Hurricane doesn't hit it particularly hard unless Frosmoth Dynamaxes. As such, partners that can deal with it such as Toxtricity and Dracozolt are appreciated.
