[OVERVIEW]

Salamence's good defensive typing further boosted by Intimidate gives it a niche as a bulky offensive pick in the 1v1 metagame. Coupled with its decent typing in Dragon / Flying, it beats top threats in the metagame such as Mega Gyarados and both Mega Charizard forms.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

List some options for the Pokemon user that are plausible but not always recommended due to either being not consistent enough or too outclassed by other Pokemon in the metagame.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Ice-type Attacks**: Salamence is generally KOed by Ice-type moves, due to its 4x weakness to the type. Pokemon such as Greninja, Genesect, Pheromosa, and Avalugg carry Ice-type moves and are able to defeat Salamence if they outspeed it or survive its attacks.

**Fairy-types**: As the given set does not contain any move to hit Fairy-types, Salamence cannot damage these pokemon while pokemon such as Tapu Lele and Mega Altaria hit it with their super effective Fairy-type STAB moves.

**Faster Dragon-types**: Faster and stronger Dragon-types such as Garchomp and Naganadel outspeed Salamence and KO it with their super effective Dragon-type moves.

11th december
So the issue is that we cannot begin Gen 8 1v1 analyses until most of Gen 7 1v1 is in GP. This probably won't be a huge issue now that a dynamax qb is almost certainly going to happen, but I still want to get these done as quickly as possible.

Salamence is relatively low priority, and we can work on old gen analyses in gen 8, so if by December 11th all the other analyses have all gotten 3 QC checks, and Gen 8 1v1 is at a place where we can start writing, then I'll probably reserve this, but if not, then you're good to go

well 1. i dont think 1v1 is going to be in a state of writing analyses till late december and 2. i dont see why i can't just continue this into old gen analyses

you can continue this into an old gen, but in order for that to happen, gen 8 1v1 will need to start, which will require gen 7 1v1 to be finished.

oh yeah I actually just forgot about this LOL yeah it ended a week ago, ill finish this dont archive sorry
