NOC Smogon Rewind Night 3

Is it probability of surviving to LYLO? Why is surviving to lylo a good thing

is it probability of being lynched at LYLO? Why the fuck is that my concern lmao

homie is reading the thread so i wouldnt flame him too hard for it

i think he probably meant that as town claiming scum you give the other side advantage because they play some sort of wifom game of "oh he claimed scum and is getting away with it xd, he has no reason to do that as town!!!"

which is kind of a weak argument on its own

well, i also assume he didnt think you would get nightklled after claiming

so your endgame equity died as you died!

There was a point last game when people were giving out reads lists and Jalmont compiled them and was like “ok here’s what everyone is thinking”
and I just went “wow that’s antitown af”

i think waiting for the right time for reads is a good thing.

I think there's a separate problem on a social level where some people want to feel better about a slot on a public thought to thought basis as they can actively dig into some sort of mindset or hold credibility to their words. Because how do you trust somebody who isn't explaining what they're doing(outside of reputation)?

you actively see this conflict mainly in communities where a small portion of the game does this

but i think there's a conflict on doing stuff that makes you get read better publicly vs doing stuff that makes it easier for you to solve the game

and to be able to do the latter you kind of need a backing of "yeah these guys have seen me do this before" in most communities i feel

so one of your comments i remember fondly is that one time in reinforcements where you were talking about saving a tell for an arms race in the future

which is honestly pretty important to keep such "tells" or whatever to solve the game. but can people trust you to solve it off of that, where failing to present info comes from? it may work for one game but you also could lose that tell in the future(if people are good at adapting off of it anyway)

This is probably a good point

I feel like a lot of people aim towards the former which probably isn’t the right way to go about things

it depends what criteria is most important

do you need to look towny? or do you need to solve?

Gave everything a little read. First, I think Nuxl is town because Nuxl's towngame is like a stall team... it's full of walls.

I also have a very good idea on one particular person who definitely definitely is not town.
Vote: M2H
Not participating implies not town right?

Projecting town is arguably more important than catching scum on a macro level, when you have a collective town proficient at doing so the group cohesion leads to trust levels that are extremely difficult for mafia to break down
