SS OU My first team in competitive (no idea what I am doing), I think it's stall?

So I am new smogon and competitve and showdown, and I have no idea if my team is good or terrible. My elo hovers around the 1100 - 1300 mark. I am fairly sure my team doesn't have synergy, so I could use some suggestions.

Dragapult @ Choice Band
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Darts
- Phantom Force
- U-turn
- Steel Wing

Dragapult here is my physical sweeper, and he is fairly straight forward to use. Dragon darts absolutely annihilates everything, getting past focus sash and other 1 time hit effects. Phantom force is to give him a STAB physical ghost move, even though it does give opponents the opportunity to dodge or otherwise counter it. U-Turn is for pivoting, and Steel Wing is to deal with annoying fairies. He is typically used late-game, when I have worn them down with my other options such as the defensive core.

Hatterene-Gmax @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 252 HP / 204 Def / 52 Spe
Bold Nature
- Psychic
- Draining Kiss
- Mystical Fire
- Calm Mind

This team lacks a way to actually get rid of hazards, so Hatterene here fulfills two roles. If you can read a stealth rock or spikes setup from ferrothorn, you can switch her in to bounce it back, then destroy with mystical fire. One problem I have is that she can't OHKO ferrothorn, but they will typically use knock off, which wont kill her. I then set her up with Calm Mind, and use Draining Kiss to heal here. The G-Max doesn't really matter, but since it is better than just standard Dynamax, it is here. Psychic is also here for more STAB coverage.

Darmanitan-Galar @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Gorilla Tactics
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Icicle Crash
- Flare Blitz
- Earthquake
- U-turn

My other physical sweeper. Darmanitan gets a free choice band from Gorilla Tactics, so I either choose Scarf or Band as a held item. I go with Scarf, allowing him to outspeed most of the meta, OHKOing Hydreigon and Dragapult with Icicle Crash, provided it doesn't miss. Flare Blitz allows him to counter other Darmanitans, as well as Ferrothorn. Earthquake is for killing Toxapex and other vulnerable mons. Because I choose scarf, if the opponent Dynamax's their Darmanitan, just use flare blitz. You will go first as they will loose their scarf if they had one, and if they didn't you outspeed anyway. Flare Blitz will then OHKO it, but you will probably be at 40% hp at that point. U-Turn is for pivoting.

Corsola-Galar @ Eviolite
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Will-O-Wisp
- Strength Sap
- Haze
- Night Shade

The first part of my defensive core. Allows me to wall off physical threats. Can wall off a Scarfed Darmanitan, but will take over 50% damage from a banded one. Cursed body is great when it goes off, forcing a choiced enemy to either switch out or use struggle. One Strength Sap successfully works, you can spam it to keep Corsola alive, and eventually be able to use other moves. Will-O-Wisp will neuter physical threats, and at least deal some damage to tanks. Haze is here to give her the possibility of walling special sweepers and other tanks, as a strength Sap + Haze loop means infinite healing. Also for dealing with threats such as Gyarados. You want to watch out for Knock-Off, as it will cripple her defenses without Eviolite. Night shade is for consistent damage, usually 4-5 HKOing most enemies.

Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Careful Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Stealth Rock
- Leech Seed
- Gyro Ball
- Knock Off

I use Ferrothorn as a wall and my lead, to set up stealth rocks, and bait fire attacks into Toxapex. I typically start with leech seed, which usually forces the enemy to switch, where I can use knock off to deal with them. Gyro ball is great if you can anticipate a switch into Hatterene, as it will OHKO her. Also if Grimmsnarl first turn uses Thunder Wave and you aren't paralyzed, Gyro Ball will OHKO. Stealth Rock is my only hazard on this team. I used to run a variant with Spikes, giving Stealth Rock to Corsola, but I wanted more defensive options. Will absolutely die if a fire pokemon so much at looks at it funny, so keep away from fire.

Toxapex @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Haze
- Toxic
- Scald
- Recover

Toxapex as another wall, especially useful switching into fire attacks that Ferrothorn dodges. By using Haze, she is able to stall threats such as Substitute Hydreigon, though not permanently, as we cannot break the substitute. Toxic is here to give us a DOT on the enemy, and by walling can slowly take down threats. Scald is here to give us some option when taunted, otherwise we would have to struggle. Recover is well recover. Allows us to sustain against threats while toxic wears them down. I have debated replacing this with Baneful Bunker, and relying on Black Sludge + Regenerator for heals, but I am not sure how that would work.

Welcome to Smogon! I'm locking your RMT for the time being as the forum rules require that you provide at least 3 lines of descriptions for each Pokemon to explain their roles. Please read the rules carefully and take a look at Team Showcase to see the level of detail we require. PM me with updated descriptions and I'll be happy to unlock this. If you need help with the explanations, you can visit the OU forum and look at the individual pokemon threads for help.

unlocked!

Hello! orangejuicenut .
You built a really cool team, considering that you are new to competitive Pokemon. I am myself a fan of Physical Dragapult and the offensive core of Hatterene with Galarian Darmanitan, but to be honest, Physical Dragapult is not that great in the current metagame, as its lack of Ghost-type STAB moves leaves it heavily reliant on Phantom Force. Also, the offensive core relies heavily on momentum and due the passive nature of the defensive core, the team is kinda hard to play with. On top of that, the team has some glaring weaknesses, such as opposing Dragapult and Hatterene, where the former shreds the team, as half of the team is weak to Shadow Ball with no resistance, while the latter completely shuts down the defensive core. Dark-type Pokemon like Hydreigon (especially the SubPlot varient) also give the team a lot of trouble. Hence, I made some changes to the team. So that being said, here is what I recommend-

Major changes-

:hatterene:-->:clefable:
Clefable @ Life Orb
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 192 HP / 252 SpA / 64 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Thunderbolt
- Flamethrower
- Moonlight
While Hatterene provides a great check to defensive Pokemon like Toxapex and Galarian Corsola, it makes the team too weak to opposing Dragapult. That is why I suggest replacing it for Clefable. While you will lose the utility of magic bounce, Clefable makes for a great wallbreaker with a nearly unresisted coverage, blowing away bulky Pokemon like Corviknight, Toxapex, and Ferrothorn, as well as provides a consistent check to Dragon-types and Flash Cannon less Hydreigon. Due to Magic Guard, Clefable also gives a great semi-stall matchup. I added a defogger in the team as well, so the team doesn't have to rely completely on Hatterene for hazard control. The EV spread helps Clefable to speed creep uninvested Corviknight and nearly all bulky Pokemon, while making it as bulky as possible to check aforementioned threats.

:corsola galar:-->:mandibuzz:
Mandibuzz (F) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Overcoat
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 Spe
Careful Nature
- Knock Off
- Defog
- Roost
- U-turn
Galarian Corsola was not only making the team more Ghost and Dark-type weak, but also was draining all the momentum generated by the team. Considering that this team was still incredibly weak to the likes of Dragapult and Hydreigon, I ended up replacing Corsola with a Specially Defensive Mandibuzz. This change not only provide the team with a primary Psychic, Ground, Ghost, and Dark-type resist (immunity against the former two), but also adds more momentum to the team with U-turn, which can be really beneficial for this team, as the team's main breakers really appreciate the free switchins it provide. Foul Play can be used instead of Knock Off, but the utility it provides is generally better and it also frees up a slot for Ferrothorn.

Minor changes-

:dragapult:
Dragapult @ Choice Specs
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Draco Meteor
- Shadow Ball
- Thunderbolt
- Fire Blast
While you can still use Physical Dragapult, a Special set with Choice Specs is generally better option. As I explained above, that due to the lack of Physical Ghost-type moves, Dragapult is heavily reliant on Phantom Force, which can be easily taken advantage of by the likes of Hydreigon and Grimmsnarl. And because of that, it will be spamming Dragon Darts, which again, can be taken advantage of by Fairy-types. As such, a special set is recommended, as there are very few Pokemon in the tier that can take a Specs Shadow Ball, and the set also support valuable coverage options like Fire Blast and Thunderbolt.

:ferrothorn:
Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Power Whip
- Stealth Rock
- Gyro Ball / Thunder Wave
- Leech Seed / Thunder Wave
Now that Mandibuzz is carrying Knock Off, Ferrothorn can afford to run Power Whip, as it is a great way to pressure Seismitoad and Water-type threats like Barraskewda and Drednaw in general. Thunder Wave should be used instead either Gyro Ball or Leech Seed, as it prevents Ferrothorn from becoming a complete setup bait for the likes of Gyarados, Togekiss, Hawlucha, and Grimmsnarl, and will help the breakers a lot by reducing the speed of faster threats. Additionally, you're also able to punish stuff like Corviknight and Mandibuzz from removing hazards, as you're able to inflict them with paralysis.

That is all. I hope that these changes might help in the improvement of the team. Feel free to ask me any questions regarding the team. Good luck :]
The final team is down below along with the importable-

Dude, thank you so much! I know this is a late reply, but I really appreciate your help! I have been trying out other teams to learn more about the meta, and I will now try this.

To be honest, I think I like Physical Dragapult just for Dragon Darts, which is just very cool in game. Not so much if I want to win.

I prefer flamethrower to fireblast, since I hate losing to 10% chance RNG. Do you think that is viable?

It's fine, at least you replied. I am really glad that you liked my team :]
Also, it is completely fine if you want to use Physical Dragapult, but just be careful around Fairies...

So I saw the post about G-Darmanitan getting banned, for right now I have replaced him with:

Corviknight @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 32 Def / 136 SpD / 88 Spe
Careful Nature
- Brave Bird
- Substitute
- Bulk Up
- Roost

Does that work?

On a semi-related topic, I struggle with countering Clefable, as G-Darmanitan was my best option. Would it be possible to fit iron head into this moveset?
