I'm a relative newbie to Smogon who's been lurking around here for a while. I'm curious if anyone has had success making a mixed Lucario.
Some background: I have a team of 4 pokemon I like to use in conjunction. They support each other well. What's missing is a solid lead.... and that's been a long ongoing quest. MixLuc would be a potential lead.
I've been looking at: Lucario, Hasty, 128 Atk/128 SpAtk/252 Spd w/Life Orb. For moves I've been kicking around Close Combat, Vacuum Wave, Stone Edge and Dragon Pulse/Shadow Ball. Shadow Ball has the advantage that in combination with Close Combat I've got VERY good type coverage.
The problem is that since I'm looking at him as a starter, I'm not getting very good calculations (using MetalKid's Online Damage Calculator, VERY Cool!) against other common starters. Worse, I'm getting terrible numbers against SkarmBliss. I kill Blissey, but I'm totally walled by Skarmory.
Has anyone else tried a Mixed Lucario, and if you have, what did you do to make it work out?
