Gastly serves as a moderately fast and exceptionally powerful revenge killer, wallbreaker, and late-game sweeper, depending on the structure of its team. However, it is marred by its abysmal defenses, and sometimes finds its power a bit lacking against bulky Eviolite users, like Wartortle and Ivysaur. Unless it has Sticky Web support, Gastly will require a prediction heavy playstyle in order to safely switch in and attack relevant threats. Shadow Ball and Sludge Wave give Gastly STAB options to threaten Pokemon like Lunatone, Duosion, Dartrix, and Morgrem. Dazzling Gleam allows Gastly to hit Dark-type threats such as Galarian Linoone, Zweilous, and Scraggy. Energy Ball can be used to 2HKO Wartortle and OHKO Corsola. Trick can shut down defensive Pokemon such as Klang and Pyukumuku. If Gastly is no longer needed offensively, or if a teammate needs a threat removed, Destiny Bond can take down lured-in threats such as Ivysaur, Machoke, and Oranguru.

With Choice Specs Gastly, Sticky Web support is highly recommended to make up for Gastly's mediocre base 80 Speed tier. Pokemon that can fill this role include Charjabug and Swirlix. Charjabug also serves as a desperately needed defensive pivot that can get Gastly in safely with a slow Volt Switch. In a pinch, Gastly can block Rapid Spin in return, but its fragility makes it threatened by Wartortle and Galarian Mr. Mime regardless. Gastly will more likely be able to offensively pressure faster Pokemon that threaten Charjabug and Swirlix after Sticky Webs, such as Mr. Mime and Eviolite Galarian Linoone. Slower Pokemon that threaten Gastly's Sticky Web support teammates, like Lunatone and Cufant, will also be threatened by Gastly, as well. Other defensive teammates, like Machoke, Shiinotic, and Gloom, are very much appreciated, as they can sponge common Knock Off from Persian and Galarian Linoone and priority from Gourgiest-L and Shedinja. Offensive pivots that can bring Gastly in safely, such as Silvally-Ice, Persian, and Torracat, can also be great partners for Gastly, as they can pivot out from defensive counterplay they can't handle, like Corsola and Dusclops.

Shadow Ball and Sludge Wave give Gastly STAB options to threaten Pokemon like Lunatone, Duosion, Dartrix, and Morgrem. Dazzling Gleam allows Gastly to hit Dark-type threats like Zweilous and Scraggy, as well as notably Galarian Linoone, after Sticky Webs. Energy Ball can be used to 2HKO Wartortle and OHKO Corsola. Trick can shut down defensive Pokemon like Klang and Pyukumuku, although against offensive threats you need to be wary of being knocked out afterwards (fluff, as it’s implied gastly wouldnt trick offensive mons). Destiny Bond can be used to take down lured-in threats like Persian and Galarian Linoone , forcing them to not attack on a switch-in.(both of these can then just pivot out and preserve momentum while your gastly is choiced locked into the very abusable destiny bond. Focus on slower attackers that gastly cannot 1HKO otherwise so it can take them down like Ivysaur, Machoke, and Oranguru)

If you're going to be running Choice Specs, having Sticky Web support on your side is highly recommended, to shore up for Gastly's moderate but not amazing base 80 Speed tier. Pokemon like Charjabug or Swirlix can fill this role. Both also gives Gastly a desperately needed defensive pivot that can both be used to get Gastly in safely with a slow Volt Switch, or sponge up repeated Dark-type attacks from threats like Machoke or Zweilous, for Swirlix (swirlix is only a suicide lead with webs while charja is the defensive pivot. If you wanna explain its niche of gaining early momentum with Misty Explosion thats ok, but i’d consider dropping this point altogether). Gastly has the potential to serve as a spinblocker to synergize with these Pokemon, but realistically this is unlikely to be fully realized, as the most common Rapid Spin users, Wartortle and Galarian Mr. Mime, can both threaten Gastly defensively, either 2HKOing or OHKOing it, as well as outspeed Gastly the next turn, in Galarian Mr. Mime's case (this sentence is a little too indepth and gastly doesn’t need all this justification in how it helps the setters. Condense it by instead having a semicolon after the previous sentence and say something like “in a pinch Gastly can spinblock in return but its fragility makes it threatened by wart and g-mime regardless”). Gastly will more likely be able to offensively pressure Pokemon that threaten Charjabug and Swirlix after Sticky Webs, like Lunatone or Cufant, and faster threats like Mr. Mime and Galarian Linoone (Should list the mons that gastly abuses with the help of webs or the importance of webs isnt being expressed enough). Other defensive teammates, like Machoke, Shiinotic, or Gloom, are very much appreciated, who can sponge in common Knock Off from Persian and Galarian Linoone (also priority from Gourgiest-L and Shedninja). (Mention offensive pivots that can bring Gastly in safely like Silvally-Ice, Persian, and Torracat when they pivot on Corsola and Dusclops)

Energy Ball can be used to 2HKO Wartortle and OHKO Corsola. Trick can shut down defensive Pokemon like Klang and Pyukumuku. Destiny Bond can be used to take down lured-in threats like Ivysaur, Machoke, and Oranguru. (important to note when gastly would dbond on them. i.e if it already broke down the opposing team and is no longer needed or if it's more valuable to get one of those mons out of the way early for a teammate)

Instead, you can reword it to something like "Conversely, Gastly takes advantage of Lunatone and Cufant, who threaten Charjabug and Swirlix." I also feel that it would be better to move the "faster threats..." section to the first line, giving examples of the stuff gastly outspeeds after webs (should also specify Evio Linoone as torb will outspeed regardless)).
