SS Doubles OU Help in team building

Hello everybody first time poster here I wanted to try building a team around terrain pulse clawitzer but I’ve appeared to have hit a roadblock and can’t think of how to round it out I would appreciate any and all feedback on what changes could be made and which mon would fit better

the mons have so far are:

Clawitzer @ Life Orb
Ability: Mega Launcher
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid nature
- Scald
- Dark pulse
- Terrain pulse
- Protect

I wanted to focus the team around terrain pulse clawitzer as his special attacking moves hit very hard especially when boosted by his ability and terrain pulse itself. I picked life orb on clawitzer to push it over the edge and make him a wallbreaker since I’ll need to push through a lot of defensive cores. I chose scald over water pulse because after calculation they do the same damage and a burn chance is better than a confuse chance in my book dark pulse is just coverage and protect is for the moment where you know clawitzer is being targeted.

Rillaboom @ Assault Vest
Ability: Grassy Surge
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Adamant nature
- Grassy Glide
- Knock Off
- Drain Punch
- Fake Out

Rillaboom made a good core with clawitzer as it can Fake out any checks to him leading to a clean switch and clawitzer can check his most prominent weakness being fire. I went for a bulkier physical attacking rillaboom mainly due to the need for some defensive mons I realized I was focusing a little too much on the DPS side of things and needed a monthat can not only set terrain but stand it’s ground. Assault vest seemed like the best option to me since rillaboom’s defensive stats are a little lacking.

Hawlucha @ Grassy Seed
Ability: Unburden
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant nature
- Close Combat
- Poison Jab
- Acrobatics
- Swords Dance

Hawlucha is my main physical sweeper And as such he needed to have the coverage to deal with most threats I originally was going to give him thunder punch to deal with bulky water types and flying types that could threaten rillaboom butrealized I have no check for fairies and poison jab seemed like a good alternative. Hawlucha has grassy seed so that I can bring him in on grassy terrain to remove it for the defence boost and then the trigger of his unburden ability to boost his speed making a sweep possible. Acrobatics works well on him Because the grassy seed is used up after entering grassy terrain meaning the power of acrobatics doubles when he holds no item

Whimsicott @ Focus Sash
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid nature
- Taunt
- Energy ball
- Tailwind
- Moonblast

I chose whimsicott to help make up for the lack of speed that my team possessed not only is it itself fast and a pretty decent special attacker but it can set tailwind which can have my other mons rival some unboosted threats. I put taunt on them because of the recent surge of trick room and them getting so many good options. Focus sash ensures that my whimsicott can get tailwind off the first turn allowing for a better possibility of setting up a sweep.

Amoonguss @ Rocky Helmet / Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 164 Def / 92 SpD
Bold nature
- Rage Powder
- Pollen Puff
- Clear Smog
- Spore

Amoonguss seems to be a staple in most teams given how busted it is he also acts as another bulky mon for my team he has rage powder to redirect attacks and pollen puff to heal wounded teammates, spore to remove threats from the board entirely for a good few turns and clear smog if the stat boosts get out of hand. Amoonguss needs regenerator to stay in as he is an excellent pivot for the team but if he gets worn down he can easily be taken out. I’m on the fence about whether to give him black sludge or rocky helmet I’m leaning more towards the helmet to provide some chip damage when I use rage powder to soften my face opponents up for the sweepers.

Indeedee-F @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Psychic Surge
EVs: 252 HP / 212 Def / 44 SpD
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
Sassy Nature
- Expanding Force
- Follow Me
- Helping Hand
- Protect

I was thinking of putting a support Indeedee F in the slot with a support moveset of follow me, heal pulse, helping hand and expanding force
the ability would be psychic surge and the item would be terrain extender as I feel like I need a secondary terrain setter on the team but I’m unsure if I should change the team composition first before deciding.

Hi, welcome to Smogon! I am locking your RMT for the time being as the forum rules require that you provide at least three lines of descriptions for each Pokemon to explain their roles. Please read the rules carefully and look at Team Showcase to see the detail we require. PM me with updated descriptions, and I will be happy to unlock this.

Apologies for any typos I was pretty tired when I wrote this

Hi! Unfortunately, without significant changes, your team is not competitively viable. Terrain Pulse is a cool concept, but Clawitzer is an extremely subpar Pokemon. It's very slow, and faces direct competition from Volcanion and Watershifu as your offensive water-type. Furthermore, Tapu Fini and Blastoise outclass it as water-types in general.

Additionally, while Rillaboom, Whimsicott, and Amoonguss are viable Pokemon on their own, they fit poorly together. For example, you're really stacking common weaknesses to fire (Volcanion, Incineroar, Volcarona), Ice (Kyurem-Black, Alola Ninetails), and Flying (Hawlucha, Galarian Birds, Togekiss) which will create a lot of holes in your team.

Rillaboom and Indeedee aren't great partners either become of overlapping terrains. Both want grassy and psychic terrain to be up respectively, so having both really clashes.

Overall, your team lacks a lot of synergy, even though you are using 5 (probably) viable Pokemon + Clawitzer, making it impossible to rate in its current stage. What I can do for you is one of two things. I can either give you a rate that keeps the same six Pokemon but with better sets, or I can help you build a team around Clawitzer (since that seems to be the starting point of this team), but keep in the mind the team probably won't be the best. I did this for someone else and it went well in my opinion; you can see the results here.

Sorry for the late replay and late of real rate. LMK what you want from me and I'll do my best! See you around the DOU community!

Thank you very much for your response I’ve been doing a few matches online and the team seems to be working pretty well I went with the indeedee for the last slot and so far I’ve won almost all of my matches with the only match I lost being due to bad reads on my part, any changes you could make would be appreciated though so I would say the second I one being a build around clawitzer
