Yeah this is your sorta underwhelming special set. The fact that boots are going to be more valuable to this thing most of the time means that the lack of specs and nasty plot kind of hurts it a bit. Thankfully dragapult has a fair amount of powerful special type moves to offer. Pignite has focus blast to contribute.

This is basically my halfbaked attempt at a lead set. A fair amount of pokemon here run on the physical side of things so spreading burn to those that can get burned is pretty helpful. The main issues you gotta deal with are the three potential fairies running around, since you can't tail em hence why poison jab is there. You can also go flare blitz since the most common fairy is probably gonna be tanette which is already weak to your stab Flare Blitz.

Slate 3 is now mostly playable at Dragon Heaven! The client also makes it loads easier to make sets for each of the fusions. Please aid with playtesting these mons, suggest a few sets and we soon can move into Slate 4.

However, there's one thing to note: Eternabat's ability, Concussion, currently has no effect. Simply put, it has been a challenge to fully code it so it will take longer to come out than the rest of the slate. Everything else currently works as intended!

Thoughts on some mons


Thought i had found the perfect Slowton counter with this but Aquatic kindly reminded me it learns Shadow Ball as well. I still think its a solid check since it requires prediction from the Slowton player (and the willpower to forgo Flamethrower or Ice Beam), and paired with an Umbat or a Dragontler it definitely makes your team able to handle the surgeon demon. I played it full def since that makes it easier to check some of the more offensive threats. Speaking of which...


I think those two new additions are currently the biggest offensive threats in the tier (bar like Slowton and Flaant maybe?). They put a lot of pressure onto defensive cores – especially on the current regen mons – and outside of iffy Swine and Chomp (which gets chipped easily) they dont really have hard counters (as opposed to an Eternabat or a Kingstar). I played banded 5head wolf and DD pig, which are i think the best sets for them currently (although i can easily see some mixed garb on pig). EDIT: SD wolf is strong as well


Those mons are dumb i cant wait for a neutralizing gas mon to sit on them.

Alright with playtests from ever since this fusion got added, it's been brought to the player's attention that it performs underwhelmingly, mostly due to it's type combo of Ghost / Psyhcic being very unfavorable. Given it was originally given this type combo as a nerf for what was anticipated to be a bit overpowered, the most logical way to buff Dusking is to change it's type combo.

In the below link, you can vote for wether Dusking should have it's type changed or if it should remain as a Ghost / Psychic for now. This vote will be open for 24 hours, so be sure to vote as soon as possible!

I would just like to add this to maybe influence people's decisions a bit. If the type of Dusking doesn't change now this subject will come again especially when more offensive dark types come into play. If you think it is underperforming now as a ghost/psychic type when it can at least somewhat retaliate against its ghost type threats, I can assure you it will only underperform more if some dark type with base 115 attack gets in and has STAB knock off. In the current state while poison might not change much it would at least make it no longer quad weak against ghost and dark type attacks. Before someone comes in and says that "the ghost psychic type is more unique" or "at least it's interesting this way" I hate to say it but being interesting isn't going to save it from underperforming.

Nothing is wrong with Dusking. Not every Pokémon is gonna play as a super all powerful threat. I have played with it and it serves it's purpose as a SpD tank capable of pp stalling threats excellently. Ghost Psychic or Ghost Poison a 115 Attack Dark type with Knock Off still gonna KO it. Its also SOOOO easy to guard against Dark types in the metagame (any Mega Silvinno, Umbat, The Steel type that is literally immune to their attacks), that unless Pursuit is implemented, I fail to see this Pokémon struggling.

From what I played with it, Ghost Poison is only gonna make people upset 3 slates later when this Pokémon traps half of the tier and stall them out with little issue. (Ghost Poison would wreck stuff rn).

Given it was a complete tie, Dusking will remain unchanged for the time being, but possibly brought up again in the future. In short, for now nothing changes but it will have it's place on the list of things that could be re-worked.

You can commit a moveslot to Relic Song to temporarily change back from Fallen form if you really want to attempt Calm Mind, but for the most part, Grenetta-Angelic can only hit hard and hit fast, which is enough to get the job done. Beware of opposing U-Turn mons though.

It definitely faces competition from the likes of Flaant, Lycanserker, and Dragontler, but options like U-Turn, Spikes, and Trick alongside STAB Knock Off and Team Preview ambiguity help it stand out.

- Bite, Bulldoze, Drain Punch, Earthquake, Ice Shard, Icicle Spear, Sucker Punch
- lul
- Bulk Up, Spikes, Substitute, Switcheroo, Taunt

A potent stallbreaker. Its ability buffs both Icicle Spear and Drain Punch, making for a really difficult STAB combo for walls to deal with, while Spikes gives it a good way to punish switches. It can also carry boosted Ice Shard, preventing it from being dead weight against HO. Its biggest weakness is its low speed tier, leaving it really easy to answer offensively.

Typing:

Stat Distribution: 80 / 155 / 90 / 115 / 90 / 90 [BST: 620] (Glalite buffs applied to Grapplie)
Ability: Refrigerate

Viable Moves:
- Body Slam, Crunch, Close Combat, Double-Edge, Earthquake, Explosion, Ice Shard, Sucker Punch
- Freeze Dry
- Bulk Up, Spikes, Taunt

Whereas base form is a stallbreaker, Mega Grapplie is more of a balance breaker, sporting a much higher damage output on average and improved speed, while losing out on Unlicensed Practitioner and its item slot, and with them much of base form’s utility and longetivity. This mon hits stupidly hard with Double-Edge or Close Combat and forces a lot of switches that you can capitalize on with Spikes, plus it can click Explosion to nuke a mon whenever it wants, allowing it to break teams wide open for a sweeper to come in and finish the game. Its speed tier still isn’t great though, and it has a much weaker Ice Shard, making for easy revenge kills against it and a bad HO matchup.

Ability: Mithridatic Boost = Hustle + Poison Heal
Ability Description: When poisoned, this Pokemon’s Attack is 1.5x and it is healed for 1/10 of its max HP each turn; no HP loss.

- Earthquake, Facade, Icicle Spear, Knock Off, Liquidation, Poison Jab, Sucker Punch, U-Turn
- don’t
- Defog, Roost, Stealth Rock, Swords Dance, Taunt

Similar to my Corscor sub from last round but a lot more focussed towards stallbreaking with the stat and ability changes. It loses out on bulk overall, but still does a good job of answering Slowton and all of the status spam going around, while dishing out a lot more damage. The healing bonus from PHeal is toned down (by the same multiplier as Hustle’s effect on accuracy) to prevent infinite Sub + Protect and force it to play more aggressively, and it has all of the tools needed to do so. Of course, everything I’ve said so far is reliant on Corscor being poisoned, effectively leaving it item locked. Before Toxic Orb activates, it has to be extremely careful about all of the Knock Off spam going around, and it also gets screwed over by Tapu Lop, helping to give the latter a bit more of a niche in the meta.

While losing an item slot to a Flame Orb to activate the other effect of its ability can be annoying at times, being able to Trick it afterwards allows it to disrupt the opponent's item too, it also makes it a good Knock Off switch-in in the long run.

Electric / Ice / Ground is basically all you need (Sans Jelliswine), leaving the fourth slot pretty free - You can run Explosion to rid of the foe, with effectivelly a 300 BP move, you can set rocks yourself, use Rapid spin as previously mentioned for a less-expected Spinner, Volt Switch for a decent pivotting option or try your hands at Recover.

Role Justification: Big Boy. Can run a multitude of options, from Choice Specs, to Scarf, to HDB to even Band as a lure. Manicuno hates that a large multitude of offensive Pokémon already outspeed it, and that there already exists several forms of counterplay, but make no mistake Manicuno-Galar is a threat.
