National Dex [Monotype] SUPER DRAGON, peaked 1430, #192

Navzyx-kun

Banned deucer.
SUPER DRAGON!

Hello! my name is Navzyx-kun and you might know me from my other RMT: National Dex AG. This time I'm coming back with another tier - National Dex Monotype. Unlike Natdex AG however, this tier is very barren. Not a lot of people play this tier. Ladder peak is short compared to others. But now I'm persuading you guys to play it, because it's just so fun.

So without further ado, let's get to the team!

THE TEAM

:sm/kommo-o:

Reptar (Kommo-o) (M) @ Kommonium Z
Ability: Soundproof
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Substitute
- Clanging Scales
- Flamethrower
- Aura Sphere

This set is pretty simple - first you sub, then you go full power. Substitute, coupled with Kommo-o's good defenses, protects it from weak attacks such as U-Turn or Volt Switch and annoying status like Thunder Wave. Clanging Scales is needed for Kommo-o to unleash its notoriously good Z-Move, 185 BP with a sweet addition of +1 each stat. Aura Sphere is used to hit some Steel-types such as Heatran and acts as Kommo-o's secondary STAB. Flamethrower rounds this up - it hits some other Steel-types that are otherwise immune to Aura Sphere, namely Aegislash. Max SpAtk and Max Speed is needed so it can deal a good amount of damage while also being quite speedy.

:bw/garchomp:

Cynthia (Garchomp) (F) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Scale Shot
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake

As we all know, Garchomp is a great Pokemon, and it just got even better in Gen 8 due to one move - Scale Shot. The first thing Chomp does is either Swords Dance or Scale Shot. Swords Dance is great to boost Garchomp's already good attack, Scale Shot serves as her Dragon STAB, and also raising his speed. Earthquake is used to hit Steels that wall this set, and lastly Stealth Rock, but only used if Garchomp has time. EV spreads to maximize Attack and Speed.

:bw/dragonite:

Big Boy (Dragonite) (M) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Extreme Speed

Classic Dnite. Heavy-Duty Boots to protect it from hazards and to keep Multiscale intact. Dragon Dance boosts his Attack and Speed. Outrage is his main STAB move, crazy 120 BP and yet no accuracy disabilities (well you get locked and confusion though). Earthquake is used to hit Steels, and Extreme Speed is a really good form of priority DNite has, mainly used for revenge-killing. EVs are also focused on Attack and Speed, although base Dnite is a bit slow.

:bw/altaria:

Fluffy..... (Altaria-Mega) (F) @ Altarianite
Ability: Pixilate
Happiness: 0
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Frustration
- Earthquake
- Roost

The Mega of choice, Mega Altaria in my opinion looks really cute and she doesn't deserve the hate she gets. Her ability is phenomenal as it turns Normal-moves into Fairy-moves + 1.2x power + STAB. Dragon Dance is the main boosting move of Altaria, raising her Attack and Speed. 0 Happiness coupled with Frustration turns it into a 122 BP Fairy-type move before STAB. The reason why I chose Frustration instead of Return is so that Ditto can't sweep our team. Earthquake hits Steel and Poison-types, and Roost is a tool to recover her health. EVs are for attack and speed.

:bw/hydreigon:

Spitfire (Hydreigon) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- U-turn
- Dark Pulse
- Flamethrower

Hydreigon is cool. It has good offenses and average speed, coupled with powerful attacks. However the main reason why he's here is because the prevalence of Ghost-stall doesn't put a smile on my face. A Scarf is needed to improve Hydreigon's average speed, to revenge kill when DNite is gone. Draco Meteor hits hard, because it's a 130 BP STAB. U-Turn allows it to pivot to some mons, Dark Pulse is Hydreigon's main weapon against Ghost and Psychic, and Flamethrower is for Steels.
EVs for SpAtk and Speed

:bw/latios:

Avalon (Latios) (M) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
- Psyshock
- Mystical Fire

Good old Latios, king of BW OU. It's coming back here for a return in Natdex Mono. Specs is used for this thing to hit HARD. Thunderbolt and Ice Beam gives near perfect coverage and also hitting pretty hard with Specs. Psyshock is to counter Blissey and acts as Psychic STAB. Mystical Fire sears Steels that resists the other moves. EVs for SpAtk and Speed.

FINAL NOTES

Nice RMT here are some suggestions.

Kommo-o

-Replace Subsitute with taunt.

This Kommo-o is very weak to status moves such as Clear Smog. Taunt fixes this at it invalidates pokemon such as Toxapex and Galarian Corsola. Also if you need to get the boost imedietly/ not have the chance to get a subsitute, taunt fixes status moves.

- Replace Aura Sphere with Drain Punch.

Kommo-o's longevity is short considering it can only get the boost once. Drain Punch fixes this while not getting walled by special walls such as Chansey.

Garchomp

-Replace Scale Shot with Outrage, and Swords dance with Fire Blast.

Garchomp is very unlikely to actually sweep teams when its the main stealth rocker. Other pokemon such as Dragonite, and Kommo-o are usually better sweepers. Its better to specialize in this role and add some new zest as Outrage as Stab, and Fire Blast to kill Physical Leads such as Ferrothorn, and Skarmory.

Dragonite

None!

Good set, I usually prefer WP but this set is completly fine. Good Job!

Mega-Altaria

None!

Same as above, good job!

Hydreigon

Flash Cannon over U-turn

Nice replication of the CS Dragapult set, but I suggest you add this coverage for fairies that somewhat mow this team.

Latios

None!

Can't argue with innovation nice set TerrariaEagle177.

So overall nice team, we need more RMT makers like you, (started making a fighting team but never finished it lol) so hats of to you! Also you probably need to put a check and counter section but that's my opinion, see ya!

clear smog isn't a status move, and I'm not so sure about no ss chomp.
