TECHNOLOGIC (Mawile-Mega) @ Mawilite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 92 HP / 252 Atk / 164 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Play Rough
- Sucker Punch
- Thunder Punch
Garchomp + Mega Mawile is a classic offensive core that’s incredibly effective at just shitting on defensive cores becausr they fire off attacks at +2 all day. There is a bit of defensive synergy here, too; Mawile easily takes advantage of the Ice- and Fairy- type attacks aimed at Garchomp, while Garchomp eviscerates Fire-types that have no issue with Mega Mawile. Beyond that, the two’s sheer breaking power means that a sole physical wall is being pounded from all angles by two incredibly dangerous offensive Pokemon. Pair these two with pivots and Healing Wish, and suddenly there’s a whole new level of danger on your team.
Greninja-Ash (M) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Battle Bond
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Dark Pulse
- Water Shuriken
- Spikes/U-turn
Ash Greninja is IMO one of the best dragonium chomp partners, as it benefits from chomp luring and nuking in things like grasses and waters, for ash gren to freely spam pump without worry. Spikes also helps as it weakens both of their checks to clean very easily late game. U-Turn is another option for gren to easily bait in mons like blissey and toxapex, and bring in chomp freely, tho i prefer spikes as the chip feels a lot more beneficial for me when cleaning late game.
Magnezone @ Choice Specs
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Flash Cannon
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Volt Switch
An age old friend, able to remove pesky Corviknight or Skarm that try to pivot around on this set, while also pressuring Clefable that might try to check it on a Stealth Rock. Magnezone also pressures Landorus-T, as one prediction can spell the end for another one of your opponents mons if Garchomp sets up.
Voting Phase: The voting system used is the Ranked Pairs format (the same as CAP uses). This format is arguably much fairer than the simple voting format and should help keep high stakes for the teams that win. You cannot vote if you made a team. If you choose not to vote for all teams, the last team(s) will be assumed to be last and valued equally if more than one got left out. If you have any questions about this system, by all means, contact me. Additionally, you are encouraged to use a Pokemon's full name when voting and when voting to only vote on your top 2 teams and not every team listed. For example, if teams A, B, C, D exist and I like D followed by B, I would just say D>B, without mentioning anymore besides the first two.
Tapu Koko @ Choice Specs
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Dazzling Gleam
Tapu Koko is an excellent offensive partner to Garchomp, being able to pressure the Steel Birds and Fairies that can stand up to Chomp's Z move while being able to bring it in pretty freely thanks to Volt Switch. In turn, Garchomp threatens the bulky Grounds and Steels that can take hits from the electric rooster. U-turn is an option over either Gleam or HP Ice to ensure that you can pivot around vs Grounds, but imo both HP Ice and Gleam are better to maximize Koko's breaking abilities and to ensure yourself vs stuff like Latis.
Medicham-Mega @ Medichamite
Ability: Pure Power
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fake Out
- Zen Headbutt
- High Jump Kick
- Thunder Punch
Mega Medicham is about as simple and straightforward a partner to LO Clef as you can get, being able to blow past the bulky Steels and Grounds that stop Clef dead (Ferro, Heatran, Gliscor, etc) in its tracks thanks to its fighting STAB, great coverage, and absurd power. In turn, Clef helps it break past the stuff that can take on Medi such as Slowbro, Mega Sableye, other Clefs, and Mega Latis. The only thing that can really take on the pair defensively is defensive Aegislash but even that gets severely pressured by the combination of Clef Thunders and Mega Medicham T-punches
Garchomp @ Rockium Z
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Swords Dance
Garchomp is an exceptional teammate for Clefable, as it not only switches into and breaks through many of Clefable's checks and counters (especially Heatran), but can set Stealth Rock to chip the opposition into range of Clef's sweep. In return, Clef can use CM-boosted Thunders and its status immunity to pressure the bulky waters and such that Chomp doesn't like switching into.
METAL CRUSHER (Excadrill) @ Normalium Z
Ability: Sand Rush
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Iron Head
- Earthquake
- Giga Impact
Excadrill happens to eviscerate many of the Steel-types that can soft-check this Clefable set, and it loves the fact that Corviknight is removed by a +1 Thunder. The two also have great defensive synergy for a pair of setup sweepers, with Excadrill easily dealing with the likes of Tapu Koko and Zeraora, and Clefable appreciating Excadrill’s ability to revenge kill various physical attackers when backed by sand. Speaking of sand, Clefable doesn’t need to worry about chip damage from sand thanks to Magic Guard, meaning it doesn’t negatively synergize with sand teams, making it a common and solid partner for Excadrill.
Lopunny-Mega @ Lopunnite
Ability: Scrappy
Happiness: 0
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fake Out
- Close Combat
- Frustration
- U-turn
Mega Lopunny is an amazing partner to CM Clefbale, as it forces out and weakens steels such as heatran and ferrothorn, which force out clef in return. It also deals with faster, more offensive teams, which clef struggles with, whilst clef beats mons like physdef pex and corv, and generally fatter teams which lopunny struggles with.

Ability: Poison Heal
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 244 HP / 52 Def / 184 SpD / 28 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Facade
- Roost
- Swords Dance
SD Gliscor is a useful partner for CM thunder Clef. Both act as highly durable wincons that are difficult to knock out and will likely stick around for the long game. Together, they can exert a lot of offensive pressure vs bulkier teams. Gliscor is able to switch into and threaten a number of mons (mostly steel types) that discourage CM thunder Clef such as Mega Mawile, Heatran, gyro ball Ferro, Galar-Slowking, and certain Magearna sets. In return, CM thunder Clef can deal with Corviknight, Slowbro, and Tapu Fini which Gliscor doesn't want to face head-on.
