Description: This is a deer with solar panels stuck in its antlers. Its solid special attack combined with good coverage and Solar Power lets it be a dangerous wallbreakers for new sun teams. Its Volt Switches are powerful under sun and let it avoid Solar Power damage. Most ground types won't want to switch-in because they can get destroyed by Energy Ball or Fire type Weather Ball. Its best counters are spdef Borassa and bulky Dragon types but these are still getting chipped quite a bit by Volt Switch. It can also function decently on rain thanks to a neutralized fire weakness, powerful thunders and Water type Weather Ball to beat Ground and Fire types that threaten it. As the first steel type with recovery, it can function well as a bulky pivot for teams that need it. Its utility is mostly limited to Volt Switch and Roar so it's easier to fit on teams that already have hazard setting and removal. Overall, a good weather abuser and defensive pivot.

Description: The meta has seen Scimicobra and Crypterid rise as incredible wallbreakers for one reason: the meta lacks answers to poison moves. These two are able to break through pretty much the entire meta because stab Gunk Shot combined with Fighting coverage just hits everything. So I figured we needed a defensive ground type to handle those poison type attackers. This eroding dragon can serve as a good answer to those offensive poison types and is also useful for preventing Volt Switches from the likes of Teslaple. Fairy and Dragon weaknesses aren't great traits in this meta so it has to fear attacks from those types as well as those from our rarer ice types. While those are serious weaknesses, it also has very good strengths. Its high mixed bulk combined with reliable recovery and rock resistance means it'll be able to stick around and counter pokemons that hit it neutrally throughout a game. It also has solid wallbreaking potential with its dual stab hitting everything except modolith neutrally though its average offensive stats and low speed stop it from being great. Overall, a solid defensive mons that would stop the offensive poison types from wrecking through everything.

Set 1
Fakemon Name: Lucharge ("Lucha" + "Charge". It builds up a static charge by wrestling.)
Stats: 91 / 96 / 115 / 103 / 60 / 85 (550)
Typing:

(Typing meets the restriction)
Abilities: Simple / Static / Sand Stream
Weight: 68 kg

Physical Moves: Rapid Spin, Power-Up Punch, Plasma Fists, Earthquake, Body Press, Stone Edge, Superpower, Thunder Punch, Rock Slide, Brick Break, Hammer Arm, Double-Edge, Skull Bash, Outrage, Stomping Tantrum, Rock Tomb, Body Slam, Scale Shot, Circle Throw, Bulldoze, Thrash, Dig, Take Down
Special Moves: Thunderbolt, Earth Power, Discharge, Charge Beam, Scorching Sands, Thunder, Mud Shot, Ancient Power, Mud-Slap, Shock Wave, Weather Ball, Hyper Voice, Uproar
Status Moves: Thunder Wave, Toxic, Sand Attack, Harden, Amnesia, Charge, Electric Terrain, Taunt, Block, Mat Block, Coaching, Sandstorm, Confide, Swagger
Universal moves: Yes

Description: This mon utilizes Rapid Spin in a novel way; that is, it uses Simple to double the boost it receives from it. This lets it perform as a unique setup sweeper that also spins. By using Power-up Punch or Charge Beam, it can boost its respective offensive stat as well, similar to a classic double dance set. While it has good physical bulk to set up with, its offensive stats are pretty mediocre, and Ground / Electric is fatally poor against defensive Grass types, so that prevents it from being too unstoppable. Although it can use Superpower to hit Borassa, that is extremely punishing if you're using Simple cause it will double the resultant stat drops. Another big flaw is that it needs to be Timid or Jolly to beat common scarfers at +2. It can also run a defensive set that is basically a good tank than can also Rapid Spin, even capable of wielding Assault Vest since it doesn't really have much need for most of its status moves. Static lets it be a good tank that punishes weak contact moves, and Sand Stream lets it make sand teams a genuine reality while not being too good at it's job due to lacking hazards and pivoting.

Abilities: Synchronize
Weight: 6 kg

Moves: Same as Mew

Description: A jack-of-all-trades. Although it pales in power compared to Afloof and it's far less bulky than Borassa overall, its bag of tricks is infinitely deeper than either, letting it stay relevant. It has niches as a Defogger that resists Rocks or a hazard setter with a unique typing. It would be the first real special Fighting-type as well. Offensive, it can run viable Nasty Plot or Swords Dance sets with STAB priority options, but these face a lot of competition from Scimicobra and Afloof, so it's best to stick to the supportive role or play as a slower-paced setup sweeper with something like CM. Overall although it gets sidelined by more specialized mons it serves some supportive roles that nothing else with a similar defensive presence can fill. It can also just be a really fun wild card.

Universal moves: Yes

Description: This is a resub of a previous submission of mine that did fairly well the first time around. This time around it has a higher BST, with greater speed and special bulk, but lower physical bulk. This is mostly just because I need to work with the stat restriction. A lot of its extra BST is allocated to its Attack which isn't an important stat. It's not significantly more beefed-up than the first time, but it's enough to notice. To compensate for its increased stats, I removed Overheat from its movepool and replaced Steam Eruption with Surf, significantly hindering its coverage. It still has the coverage to get by offensively though. This mon would be a good supporter with Prankster Court Change letting it foil hazard and screen setting, or it can just set up screens of its own. It can also act as an offensive pivot that uses Intimidate to sponge physical attacks better.

Set 1 - Thuco-Tuco
Stats: 120 / 95 / 85 / 65 / 85 / 30 [BST: 480] (wt = 45.8kg)
Type: Ground
Abilities: Intimidate / Sturdy / Sand Spit
Notable Moves: Amnesia, Curse, Earthquake, Explosion, Knock Off, Rapid Spin, Slack Off, Spikes, Stone Edge, Taunt, Thousand Arrows, Thousand Waves, Trick Room

A versatile bulky Ground that can take on a variety of roles thanks to a spammable Thousand Arrows allowing it to take advantage of all of the utility in its movepool. Its main set is a physical wall, taking advantage of Intimidate for easy switchins on physical attackers to play the hazard game, though it can also use Sturdy to act as a suicide lead on Trick Room builds or Sand Spit to support Rock-types and future abusers.

Description: First of two defensive Pokemon I'm subbing to check all the offensive Poisons. Scimicobra and Crypterid have shown recently how difficult STAB Poison moves can be to wall, and although Scimicobra can run Leaf Blade as a tech option, this otherwise makes for a very sturdy answer to both. It has access to Thunder Wave, Rapid Spin, and Knock Off as utility options but is kind of a momentum sink in this momentum-heavy metagame.

Voting is closed but I've had a long day and need to end a tiebreaker tomorrow, it's too late at night for me to right now. I'll post again then.

Alright, gonna announce the winners + a few other things.

The winner for set 1 was Tapler with Thuco-Tuco...
(Note: I haven’t had time to add flavour moves to this thing, I’ll have to do so tomorrow. I just want to make sure I get this in before subs close.)

Set 2 was a tie between Sorrée and Shinoburi. I didn't really have much time on my hands this week so I didn't check over the subs but these two are both worrisome to me to some extent, but this rendition of Shinoburi has basically nothing that's able to check it across dual STABs. Our Grasses aren't well-equipped for its typing, and it's strong enough so LO Modest (a very feasible set for it) has only a slim chance of 2HKOing even Sharm with Focus Blast, leaving Sp. Def Dirtoad as the only great answer. So I'll be tiebreaking in favor of Sorrée here, so Revenge of Depressed Gay wins here. They also happened to win Set 3...
Set 2 (Based on Meloetta-Pirouette)
Name: Sorrée (Sorry + Soirée)
Typing: Dark
Ability: Unnerve
Stats: 100/128/90/77/77/128 [BST 600]
Movepool: The same as meloetta's
Description: There sure are a lot of ghosts in this mod and they all need to get busted, preferably by Sorrée. Now I noticed none of the dark types hit quite as hard for my liking thus I made this fucker to hit hard and go fast. In exchange for hitting hard and fast it gets the ability Unnerve which does jack shit. Also it is only a dark type and with the fair amount of fighters here, it might be at risk to get bisqued.

Set Number: 3
Name: Gembezzle (Gem + Embezzle)
Typing: Rock/Dark
Stats: 68/86/111/90/111/104 [BST: 570]
Weight: 18.5kg
Abilities: Sturdy/Pickpocket/Flare Boost
Movepool:
Relevant Attacking: Power Gem, Dark Pulse, Extrasensory, Scorching Sands, Meteor Beam, Knock Off, Mystical Fire, Flash Cannon, Thunderbolt
Relevant Status: Nasty Plot, Stealth Rock, Parting Shot, Rock Polish
Other: Sucker Punch, Toxic, Embargo, Rock Slide, Stone Edge, Crunch, Bite, Earthquake, Sandstorm, Solar Beam, Sunny Day, Rain Dance, Ice Punch, Thunder Punch, Fire Punch, and any universal TMs I missed.
Description: This is a very interesting pokemon. A faster rock type that can set up rocks and possibly set itself up as well. Flare Boost turns this thing into quite the powerful white collar crime gremlin. To make up for it the moves it has at its disposal aren't the best and the fact that it has some pretty common weaknesses doesn't help it either. Overall special tyranitar over here exists.
A few other announcements...

- Kind of a long time coming but in case we need to nerf something after the tournament, I've finally added two council members. Welcome readytolose and Mossy Sandwich to the team!
- This thread will be left in a discussion phase until the tournament ends. No more slates will be happening until at least the later stages of that.
- We now have a banner by a friend of mine who wishes to be left unnamed...

- We now have a bunch of sprites and MS Paint drawings of various Pokemon as well. If you want to contribute some, or if you want to let someone else design one of your Pokemon, let me know. I'll probably be rolling out DMs to those who have had winning submissions to ask them personally. Sprites will not be necessary, the priority is just getting as many Pokemon as possible visible. Even simpler MS Paint drawings work as you'll see below...

Gonna post my current personal VR+Thoughts on every mon.

S tier: These pokemons define the meta. Players should consider adding them to every team they build and should prepare to deal with them on every team. These pokemons do what they want to do extremely well and are very consistent.

(S+)
(1)Thuco-Tuco

(S)
(2)Scalaron
(3)Kelven
(4)Dragraceful

A tier: These pokemons are an important part of the metagame. They are worth considering on many teams and teams should be able to take them on. These pokemons are good and consistent at what they're trying to do.

(A+)
(5)Modolith
(6)Cinnastar
(7)Dirtoad
(8)Torgeist
(9)Borassa
(10)Afloof
(11)Teslaple
(12)Faerenheit
(13)Tantrary

(A)
(14)Sharm
(15)Crypterid
(16)Zoltanka
(17)Centhorn
(18)Flydra
(19)Crystelf
(20)Kapagon

(A-)
(21)Cyknight
(22)Aerock
(23)Arbrella
(24)Regolite
(25)Scimicobra
(26)Donzyxote
(27)Nunopod
(28)Vulcaraptor

B tier: These pokemons are rather niche but still viable. They don't fit on many teams and aren't the biggest threats around but they should still be considered. These pokemons aren't bad but lack consistency.

(B+)
(29)Abysseil
(30)Parakinesis
(31)Polbearab

(B)
(32)Rancourgar
(33)Folliclawe
(34)Nimbusteed

(B-)
(35)Coracrab
(36)Quadringo
(37)Serpaint

C tier: These pokemons are mostly unviable. They may still be able to work on a few teams, but they will usually fall short. Players don't need to consider these pokemons when building their teams. These pokemons aren't especially good and they're inconsistent.

None

Need more testing:
Spiriteal (Predicted tier: B)
Snailord (Predicted tier: B/A)
Draugelid (Predicted tier: B)
Refluse (Predicted tier: A)
Kodokai (Predicted tier: A)
Cindarner (Predicted tier: ?)
Sorree (Predicted tier: A)
Gembezzle (Predicted tier: ?)

(1)Thuco-Tuco: Thuco-Tuco is stupidly bulky. It can counter nearly every physical attacker with only maximum HP investment, meaning it can run specially defensive without risking anything. There are very few ways to take it down. Toxic and Specs Kelven are the main way to beat it. It also packs a lot of utility such as Knock Off, Spikes and Rapid Spin. Basically, the best defensive pokemon by a lot.

(2)Scalaron: Scalaron is the best defogger in the format. It can defog reliably and counters many offensive pokemons, notably Dragraceful, Tantrary and Cyknight. It also synergizes very well with hazard setters such as Modolith and Thuco-Tuco. Scalaron is overall a very good glue defogger.

(3)Kelven: Kelven is an incredibly dangerous wallbreaker with very few counters. Its incredible power paired with high speed makes it able to beat many pokemons one on one. Its only counters are specially defensive Cinnastar and Zoltanka. With a Scarf or Webs support, Kelven can snowball very quickly thanks to Beast Boost. Overall, an incredibly difficult to deal with offensive threat that you need to keep in check.

(4)Dragraceful: Dragraceful is the format's best scarfer as well as a pivot with good utility. The scarf set is the best form of speed control in the format thanks to its high speed and Queenly Majesty, meaning it can revenge-kill many pokemon and easily check which pokemon your opponent leads with. It can also run rapid spin to remove hazards on boots set. Its coverage is very good and it can hit many pokemons super effectively, though it lacks power so don't expect it to break through tough walls like Scalaron, Faerenheit or Thuco.

(5)Modolith: Modolith is one of the best hazard setters in the format as its good bulk and many resists can let it switch-in on many pokemons and set up hazards safely. It can be a good counter to physical attackers such as Dirtoad or Aerock, but its resists are very useful for special attackers using ground and rock coverage, notably Crystelf, Regolite and Cinnastar. It can also run a Dragon Dance set with good surprise factor, ease of setup and good coverage.

(6)Cinnastar: Cinnastar is an important defensive pokemon thanks to its unique traits. Regenerator and Toxic immunity let it stick around throughout a game while its typing letting it be hit neutrally by dangerous attackers such as Kelven, Torgeist and Sorrée gives it a very good defensive niche as a counter to the most dangerous wallbreakers in the format. Its Assault Vest sets can also run good coverage with Power Gem and Earth Power while spreading poison with Sludge Bomb. Overall, a defensive pokemon that can wall insanely dangerous pokemon.

(7)Dirtoad: Dirtoad is a pokemon with very good defensive utility and can turn it into momentum or offensive pressure. Its Water/Ground typing paired with Dry Skin and high special bulk gives it many opportunities to switch-in, especially against opposing Flip Turns of Volt Switches. After doing that, it can take momentum thanks to its own Flip Turn or it can go on the offensive with its strong Liquidations or Earthquakes. Its 2 most common sets are Assault Vest and Choice Band. Assault Vest lets it switch-in more easily and is more useful for someone who wants momentum while Choice Band deals a lot more damage and will be better at dishing out offense. Overall, Dirtoad is a good pokemon with a lot of defensive and offensive utility.

(8) Torgeist: Torgeist's Merciless-boosted Hexes are probably the most dangerous move in the entire format. While it will likely require Toxic Spikes support, a well used Torgeist can shred through teams easily thanks to its solid coverage and powerful Hexes. However, it will likely struggle against bulky, poison immune pokemons, especially Zoltanka and Cinnastar. Still, it's an incredible wallbreaker in the right circumstances, just one that is difficult to use.

(9)Borassa: Borassa is one of the format's bulkiest pokemons as not even some super effective hits will be enough to bring it down. Parting Shot, Knock Off and Aromatherapy are good utility as well. Borassa will be difficult to take out without powerful wallbreakers making it a good option for teams needing a bulky pokemon to fall back upon. Borassa's main weakness comes from its type which gives it some awful weaknesses, notably to Bug, Fairy, Fighting and Poison. This means it has trouble switching into the U-Turn using pivots or strong poison type wallbreakers such as Scimicobra and Crypterid. However, Borassa's raw bulk will rarely fail to impress you.

(10)Afloof: Afloof is a powerful wallbreaker and priority user. Its Adaptability-boosted Hyper Voices and Dark Pulses can cut through most neutral pokemons with ease. Its Fake Out and Sucker Punch combo also lets it revenge-kill faster pokemons without much issue. However, its low speed and bulk means it may have trouble switching in and may be forced to switch-out more often than you'd want. Still a great wallbreaker despite these weaknesses, though.

(11)Teslaple: Teslaple is a fast and powerful pivot that can be difficult to stop from pivoting due to most electric immunities fearing Leaf Storm or Sleep Powder. Its high physical bulk also means it doesn't have much trouble switching-in. Other than its strong pivot sets, it can also run a scary Calm Mind set that fixes its main weakness, that being low special defense, and increases its power even further. Teslaple is overall a very fast pivot or setup sweeper that will often be able to cripple the opposing team in some way.

(12)Faerenheit: Faerenheit is a sturdy wall with a typing granting it many interesting resistances letting it deal with many pokemons such as Centhorn, Polbearab, Dragraceful or Flydra. It can also pass wishes to allies, though not big ones, can Heal Bell statuses away and can spread burns thanks to Will-O-Wisp and Lava Plume. However, it competes with Scalaron since Scalaron is easier to fit on teams and contributes to the hazard game, unlike Faerenheit meaning it won't find its way on many teams. Faerenheit's defensive capabilities are still not to be underestimated though.

(13)Tantrary: Tantrary is a powerful wallbreaker that can break through common steel type switch-ins with Overheat. Its main counters are specially bulky fire types as they resist both Moonblast and Overheat. Tantrary can also snowball thanks to Soul-Heart boosting its special attack. However, one of Tantrary's main weaknesses is being predictable. It needs to be choiced to function and will often need to make the right predict, which will not always happen. Even after getting the right predict though, the opponent can just switch-into whatever resists the move you selected. Overall, Tantrary is a dangerous pokemon but it's pretty prediction reliant.

(14)Sharm: Sharm is a specially bulky hazard stacker that can wall special attackers fairly easily and pivot. However, it is limited to wish for recovery and has trouble against some of the stronger special attackers in the current meta.

(15)Crypterid: Crypterid is a poison type wallbreaker that makes use of its Poison, Ground and Fighting moves to hit every defensive pokemon hard except Thuco-Tuco. It also has some nice defensive utility thanks to its interesting defensive typing and solid bulk as well as a niche under rain with Swift Swim. However, it is quite slow and is prone to getting worn down so a skillful opponent will be able to play around it and beat it in the long run.

(16)Zoltanka: Zoltanka is a pivot that can help its team dance around dangerous special attacking threats. Its good typing and special bulk make it difficult to take down on the special side while it's large movepool gives it many options, most interestingly, Volt Switch and Doom Desire. Its main weaknesses are that it lacks longevity and that it attracts dangerous physical moves such as Earthquake and Knock Off.

(17)Centhorn: Centhorn is a priority spammer that can easily clean up in the endgame. Triage with Drain Punch and Horn Leech allows for a fighting priority move while Grassy Surge lets you use stronger Grassy Glides and Power Whips. One of Centhorn's main weaknesses is its lack of coverage. In the early game, it will be unable to break through flying, poison or bug types. While it may be able to get past them once they have been chipped enough, if the opponent knows how devastating Centhorn can be and decides to keep those checks healthy, it's not gonna do well.

(18)Flydra: Flydra is a very fast and powerful Draco spammer whose Specs Draco Meteors can cut through most neutralities fairly easily. It also learns Flamethrower to deal heavy damage to steel types and U-Turn to gain momentum which is especially good thanks to Flydra's ability to force switches. Flydra can also use Levitate to avoid grounded hazards or Compound Eyes for fully accurate Draco Meteors and Heat Waves. One of Flydra's main weaknesses is being completely stopped by specially bulky Draco neutralities or by many fairy types. It has the potential to be very powerful, but if the opponent has the tools to counter it, it may have trouble breaking through.

(19)Crystelf: Crystelf is a good offensive Stealth Rock setter or attacker. Stealth Rock and Explosion paired with high speed and dual screens can let it be a fantastic suicide lead for fast offensive teams. It can also threaten many pokemons with its Fairy, Ground and Rock coverage. Its main issue is that it can be walled by most special walls and, as such, isn’t great outside of being a suicide lead.

(20)Kapagon: Kapagon is a bulky pivot and rain setter. Rain isn’t too good so Kapagon is most often ran with Regenerator, though rain boosted Flip Turns from it or Dirtoad are pretty good tools to have if you want to commit to a semi-rain team. Its Assault Vest Regenerator sets can pivot around dangerous threats such as Dirtoad, Afloof or Cyknight thanks to Flip Turn. It has good bulk and is neutral to many common attacking types making it a good switch-in to many common attackers other than those listed above. However, it faces competition from Dirtoad as a pivot, since Dirtoad has better matchups against other water type pivots and can also be a more threatening pokemon. Kapagon does have a good niche over it thanks to Regenerator granting it longevity though.

(21)Cyknight: Cyknight is a threatening choiced attacker that can force switches and capitalize on those with U-Turn. It is walled by top tier defensive mons, notably Thuco-Tuco and Scalaron, but if those threats are weakened or KO’d, Cyknight is incredibly dangerous if its user predicts right. Thanks to its mono-steel typing and good bulk, it can find many opportunities to switch-in and apply pressure. Its Scarf sets can outspeed most unboosted pokemons and seriously threaten offense while its band sets threaten to 2hko many mons with the right predict outside of the aforementioned counters. However, Cyknight’s biggest weakness is just that: you need perfect prediction skills to make use of it to the fullest. Even if your predictions are on point though, your opponent can just check which move you lock yourself into or counter it with 2 of the best defensive pokemons in the metagame. Cyknight is potentially very scary but has some trouble in the current meta and is very prediction reliant.

(22)Aerock: Aerock is both a good defensive support pokemon and a good balance breaker thanks to Poison Heal. This ability grants it longevity against teams trying to wear it down through passive damage and its bulk is far from bad so it can also deal with pokemons such as Crypterid and Scimicobra decently. Its defensive sets can bring a lot of utility thanks to Rapid Spin and Stealth Rock letting you handle hazards with it. On the other hand, its balance-breaking set pair Swords Dance with its Rock, Ground and Flying coverage to boost up and power through defensive pokemons while staying healthy with Poison Heal. Its defensive typing isn't great, however. Weaknesses to Rock, Ice, Electric and Water are all pretty significant and that means it can be threatened by quite a few pokemons. Aerock can fill some roles decently but is only an average pokemon held back by its type.

(23)Abrella: Arbrella packs some very nice defensive utility, especially when it comes to its 3 resistances and immunities: Ground, Rock and Electric. These resistances help make Abrella a very good counters to threats that would hit most other pokemons neutrally such as Teslaple, Regolite or Crystelf. Shadow Shield is also a nice bonus that can let Arbrella halt sweeping attempts if it is at full health and hazards are off the field. However, it is mostly mediocre outside of that. Shadow Shield's unreliability and Abrella's only average bulk means it won't last long against powerful wallbreakers unless things are going extremely well for the Abrella user, which will rarely be the case. Weaknesses to Ice, Fire and U-Turn makes it vulnerable to common offensive moves meaning it can be threatened by many offensive pokemons. Arbrella packs quite a few very good and unique defensive traits but is not too great outside of those few resistances.

(24)Regolite: Regolite is a very scary sweeper thanks to Unburden Meteor Beam. Its Ground/Rock coverage allows it to hit many pokemons hard, especially after a special attack boost. It can pick off many weakened team thanks to its speed and power. However, the meta is pretty hostile to it. With Modolith and Dirtoad as popular and good counters for it and revenge killers such as Scarf Dragraceful, Afloof and Centhorn, it will have trouble sweeping against quite a few teams. It may rise back up if the metagame changes, but it has trouble doing what it's supposed to do currently.

(25)Scimicobra: Scimicobra is a poison type wallbreaker that uses its high attack and brutally powerful Gunk Shots to tear through defensive cores. Steel and Ghost types that would resist the move are torn apart by Sacred Sword and Knock Off respectively. Scope Lens and Sniper allow it to run a high crit chance move that will give it a chance to crit and beat its other counters, with either Psycho Cut for Poison types or Leaf Blade for Thuco-Tuco. However, it is pretty slow and struggles against offensive mons meaning it's only really useful to wallbreak. Still, Scimicobra is one of the deadliest wallbreakers in the metagame.

(26)Donzyxote: Donzyxote is a specially bulky pivot that can switch-into quite a few moves and Teleport out. It's also one of the best Trick Room setter thanks to the same move. Donzyxote's weaknesses are an issue, though. Fairy, Ice, Bug and Dark are fairly common attacking types and Donzyxote is weak to all of them. It's not a bad pokemon but the meta isn't kind to it.

(27)Nunopod: Nunopod is a weird but versatile pokemon that can fill multiple roles. Good bulk, Recover, Rapid Spin and Flip Turn give it a decent defensive niche as a pivoting hazard remover. It also has a powerful stab Extreme Speed it can use as a Revenge Killing tool. Quiver Dance and Shift Gear also let it run setup sets. While it is versatile, its typing is not great and it only has negative abilities, limiting its potential.

(28)Vulcaraptor: Vulcaraptor is an offensive Stealth Rock setter, wallbreaker or setup sweeper that uses its great Technician boosted coverage to deal solid damage to most pokemons. After boosts from Hone Claws and Flame Charge, Rock Blast and Bonemerang can hit most pokemons for a lot of damage. However, Vulcaraptor is very predictable. It will nearly always run Rock Blast, Bonemerang, Flame Charge and either Stealth Rock or Hone Claws. It's also not too difficult to wall with Thuco-Tuco and Borassa being popular options.

(29)Abysseil: Abysseil is a specialized fast support mon that mostly fits on hyper offensive teams as a Screens setter. Its main advantages over Crystelf are higher speed and Flip Turn letting it pivot without killing itself. Its niche is pretty small but it's good at it.

(30)Parakinesis: Parakinesis is a pokemon that requires good and dangerous predictions from its user to work. Its 130 base attack Brave Birds can tear through many neutralities. However, its coverage isn't great and it relies on Focus Punch to hit Rock and Steel types that resist its stab. It can try to make use of its support movepool to force out opponents, but its best set is Choice Band as, without it, it lacks the power to break through physically bulky pokemons like Faerenheit. Parakinesis has a lot of potential but requires a lot of skill to use effectively.

(31)Polbearab: Polbearab uses Poison Heal to be a balance breaker, similarly to Aerock. While most of its stats are pretty good and it has powerful stabs and good coverage, it has one, very big flaw: it's a bulky ice type. It will need to take a few hits in order to set up and break through the teams it wants to break through, but with that amount of weakness, it will have trouble doing that. Even if it is able to set up a swords dance, it doesn't quite hit hard enough to break through the defensive fires which can deal heavy damage to it in return.

(32)Rancourgar: Rancourgar uses its powerful Double-Edges to dent switch-ins. While it's not too difficult to wall with Rock types, it is able to cripple those pokemons with Will-O-Wisp or Taunt. However, Rancourgar has to deal with some serious limitations. It needs Heavy-Duty Boots and its stabs wear it down quickly meaning a wall can easily outlast it. Having trouble against walls such as Borassa and Cinnastar is not good trait either.

(33)Folliclawe: Folliclawe is a wallbreaker and late game cleaner that's somewhat lacking in power. It has no way to break through most full health walls, but once those are weakened, a +2 Smart Strike or False Surrender can take them out. Its high speed also allows it to clean in the endgame. It has to deal with several issues though. Obviously, it can't get any work done before walls are weakened and it also has trouble setting up. But even if the user has a +2 Folliclawe on the field against a weakened team, it's likely to get outsped and KO'ed by scarfers or faster mons such as Dragraceful or Flydra. Folliclawe can sweep in the right circumstances but those circumstances are difficult to set up.

(34)Nimbusteed: Nimbusteed is the hardest hitting pokemon in the meta as well as the best Trick Room breaker. However, it is outclassed as a wallbreaker by Scimicobra and Crypterid which have much better matchups against the format's defensive mons and Trick Room is a struggling playstyle meaning Nimbusteed struggles to find a niche. Its main strength is Aerilate Fake Out but there are better priority users out there such as Afloof.

(35)Coracrab: Coracrab has good physical bulk, hits hard, blocks Volt Switch and can stack hazards and all of that seems good at a first glance. However, Coracrab's weaknesses are very bad. Incredibly low speed and spdef just make it an easy prey for special attackers while weaknesses to common physical moves in Close Combat and Earthquake doesn't help either. It's just really difficult for it to find a pokemon that doesn't threaten it which means Coracrab will have trouble getting on the field and using its strengths to begin with.

(36)Quadringo: Quadringo struggles in the current meta due all of its sets having trouble competing. Its offensive Dragon Dance or Swords Dance sets lack the coverage to leave an impactful mark on the opposite team while its defensive sets are mostly outclassed and its stats are not fit for a defensive role.

(37)Serpaint: Serpaint is meant to abuse Glare, Toxic Spikes and Will-O-Wisp with Hex to break through walls. However, it doesn't do especially well in the current meta due to its Hexes not being powerful enough, lacking stats outside of special attack and competition from one of the better pokemon of the format: Torgeist. Serpaint is a nice paralysis spreader but will usually fail to accomplish much due to its flaws.

Spiriteal: Spiriteal uses its good special coverage to hit many pokemons super effectively. It's a difficult pokemon to rank due to 4 moveslot syndrome and set variation. It has the potential to stomp some defensive cores with the right moves but it's matchup dependent which is why a more reliable wallbreaker like Afloof would be preferred over it. Also Illusion is bugged so its as if it had no ability.

Snailord: Snailord is a versatile and interesting pokemon. It has some nice defensive tools such as Recover, Parting Shot and Stealth Rock which lets it be a serviceable defensive Stealth Rock setter. However, its average bulk and lack of resists means it won't be able to withstand the strongest wallbreakers of the format. It can also run a Shell Smash set though 90 base attack with lacking attacking options won't let it go too far. Overall, it has some fairly nice tools but it's held back by something with all of its options.

Draugelid: While Draugelid may have unimpressive stats, its movepool and abilities are absolutely incredible. Its Technician-boosted Triple Axels, Ice Shards, Shadow Sneaks and Bonemerangs all hit very hard and let it wallbreak or revenge-kill. It can also capitalize on switches by setting up Spikes or boosting up with Swords Dance. While its offensive tools are downright terrifying, it lacks any kind of defensive utility. A weakness to Stealth Rocks as well as many other common moves paired with its awful bulk and low speed limit it seriously in abusing its broken options.

Refluse: The format's primary webs lead. Refluse can fairly reliably set webs and also hit neutralities very hard thanks to its high attack and powerful stab moves. It lacks coverage and its stabs are not difficult to wall, so many poison or steel types will want to switch into it. This is were Corrosion comes in. This lets it cripple those switch-ins for the rest of the game with constant chip damage from Toxic. With these tools Refluse will often be able to get webs up and cripple or seriously damage something else before dying. However, its not great outside of a lead. Its walled by too much and it's too frail to get much done for its team compared to other offensive pokemons such as Dirtoad or Cyknight. Still one of the best suicide lead with Crystelf.

Kodokai: Kodokai is a bulky fire type Trick Room setter and abuser. Its bulk lets it setup the field effect easily and its massive attack stat paired with very good neutral coverage lets it deal good damage and beat up fast teams under Trick Room. It also gets Teleport allowing it to safely bring in an even more dangerous Trick Room abuser such as Nimbusteed. However, outside of Trick Room, it'll have trouble competing with its fellow fire types. Its lack of recovery makes it a mediocre wall when compared to Faerenheit or Scalaron and Vulcaraptor and Cindarner are just as threatening to walls, if not more. Still, it's a Trick Room staple and one of the best pokemon for the teamstyle.

Cindarner: Cindarner is a sun setter and wallbreaker. Sun is a mediocre playstyle at the moment as the only abusers are Chlorophyll Borassa and fire type wallbreakers. Cindarner also has trouble as a weather setter as it wants to run Heat Rock, yet it has a 4x weakness to rocks making it very easy to wear down. Still, Cindarner has a lot of potential and its firepower under sun is not to be underestimated.

Sorrée: Sorrée is a fast offensive pokemon with a lot of coverage and a spammable stab Knock Off. Thanks to options like Stone Edge and Close Combat, it isn't easy to wall without a physically bulky pokemon that doesn't fear its coverage too much such as physically defensive Borassa, physically defensive Sharm and Thuco-Tuco. Sorrée's speed tier gives it a favorable matchup against offensive teams as they have trouble withstanding its powerful Knock Offs and Close Combats. It isn't an overwhelming pokemon to deal with but definitely one that can give you a lot of trouble if you're not prepared for it.

Gembezzle: I honestly have no idea how to use this pokemon. It seems like its solid bulk paired with moves such as Stealth Rock and Parting Shot could let it be a nice rocker with decent utility. It could also be a special wallbreaker thanks to its decent speed, coverage and Flare Boost or Nasty Plot. I haven't seen it enough in action to know how to use it or how good it is, though.

Hello again! The tournament is over, be sure to check out the thread for that if you haven't yet by some chance. I'm going to be working on a few things for this mod before I want to resume including a viability rankings from the survey and a video recording my grand finals, and I want to wait to resume this thread until those are finished. It shouldn't be too long, so don't worry, but until then, let me know if you have any ideas for Set 1/2 slates!

Big post incoming, because today, I've finally made the Restrictions Community VR! First, I'd like to explain how these results worked...

- I sent out a poll to everyone who had at least finished a full set in the tournament.
- Every rank would be associated with a number. S is 1, A+ is 2, A is 3, and so on, finishing with C- at 10 and D at 11. One person ranked theirs a bit differently (great, good, etc. i don't remember the exact names), and since they did theirs on essentially a scale of five, I put theirs as 2/4/6/8/10, best to worst.
- I took these numbers, then averaged and rounded them for each Pokemon to get their actual placing on the ranking.
- Depending on what round someone placed, I would weight things that much more in their favor. Getting to Round 2 counted your results as if 2 people had your answer, Round 3 had 3 people, etc. Note that I gave the winner of the tournament an additional point over the runner-up, so that has been accounted for.
- If 50% of the community or more did not know where to place a certain Pokemon, it will go under a special "untested" rank regardless of where it would have placed.
- I combined C+, C, and C- into one rank since there was one or two in each. I will mention where they each would have placed, though.
- Note that this is fully ordered.

S Rank
Teslaple - This Pokemon has shown throughout the tournament to be one of, if not the single most dangerous Pokemon in the format. It has a somewhat small movepool, but it's more than enough it needs to play the role of either a Calm Mind breaker or a Defogger. Flower Veil is fantastic for letting it do its job against more passive Pokemon that can't touch its great physical bulk, and Competitive has shown some merit as another scary, albeit less consistent option against things like Defog. The prevalence of Cinnastar is the biggest thing holding this Pokemon back from being overpowered.
Thuco-Tuco - Most people would describe Thuco as a universal check to physical attackers. Its physical bulk alongside Intimidate make it extremely difficult to take down physically, its special bulk is very good, and Borassa is capable of supporting it to alleviate Toxic, which would be a pretty big issue for it otherwise. You can also run things like Spikes, Rapid Spin, and Stealth Rock, and it is almost undoubtedly the best option for the former two moves. It is typically pretty passive, so its matchup against balance teams isn't perfect even if still very good, and it is somewhat of a momentum sink that can invite in dangerous Pokemon like Teslaple. This Pokemon is in talks of getting a slight nerf because of how constraining it is with building.

A+ Rank
Cinnastar - This one only narrowly missed out on S-Rank from a few pretty low rankings. Cinnastar is a borderline mandatory Pokemon on balance to check dangerous Pokemon like Kelven, Torgeist, and Teslaple, and it's not even that passive either. It's also most likely the absolute best Stealth Rock setter in the format, and the ability to spread Toxic is very nice in this format, especially in this case where the Pokemon is switching in and out so much. It does lose to Rapid Spin Thuco-Tuco, but there really isn't much else that's negative to be said about this Pokemon.
Kelven - This Pokemon is an extremely scary breaker that is only countered by Cinnastar. A combination of its very high Speed and Sp. Atk, Ice Beam, Moonblast, Mystical Fire, Freeze-Dry, and Power Gem make it very difficult to handle it defensively otherwise, since most Pokemon fall to at least one of those options. Dirtoad would be a very hard counter, but falls to Freeze-Dry, for example. Cinnastar's prevalence is a pretty big pain, though, and there are some decent checks like Scalaron and Modolith that are also very common, so it's going to need support to clean teams to the best of its capabilities since it almost always wants to run a Choice item.
Sorree - Another very strong breaker that has ways of at least annoying, if not outright beating all of its would-be checks. It's very difficult to beat both defensively and offensively because of its great coverage, high Attack, and the fastest Speed in the entire meta save Abysseil. Choice Scarf, Choice Band, and Hone Claws + 3 Attacks have all seen use. There are Pokemon like Faerenheit, Cinnastar, and Thuco-Tuco that make for serious checks, but options like Trick and Toxic have made their way onto some sets and those can seriously annoy those Pokemon. Most teams regardless will have some kind of answer for it, but it's still a huge factor in a big portion of the battles it participates in.
Borassa - The first thing that stands out about Borassa is its obscene bulk, which alongside Thick Fat, makes it really difficult to take down. Parting Shot is fantastic for a Pokemon with such high bulk, and I mentioned before that both Toxic and Aromatherapy can be great, which this Pokemon can provide either of. U-Turn weakness is really bad for this Pokemon, since it makes it very weak to pivot spam cores and can make it pretty easy to gain momentum from it despite it having Parting Shot. In addition, it's worth noting that this does not beat all Teslaple variants despite how obvious it may seem, since it can't really damage it and Calm Mind variants set up on it easily. This is still a great choice for most defensive teams.
Scalaron - The best fully defensive Defog user in the format. Scalaron's typing and natural bulk make it a great natural check to a lot of Pokemon, and it makes for a very natural partner to things like Borassa, Modolith, and Thuco-Tuco. This kind of falters if it gets its Heavy-Duty Boots removed in any way, though, and it's not unbreakable by any stretch.

A Rank
Modolith
- Modolith makes for a great check to a bunch of different Pokemon. Most of these are physical attackers, but this also includes Regolite, Torgeist, and most notably Cinnastar, who it threatens with a STAB Iron Head and can set up with Spikes or Stealth Rock while they can't do much back. Its physical bulk is fantastic as well, rivaling Toxapex in that regard. Its major weakness to Fighting-type moves makes it a pretty imperfect check to a bunch of physical Pokemon, though, and its special bulk is pretty bad unless it resists the incoming attack. In addition, it lacks recovery, which can make it difficult to maintain throughout some longer matches.
Afloof - Another extremely difficult breaker to switch into. Adaptability with Normal/Dark STABs and 129 Special Attack is no joke, and most Pokemon will get 2HKOd by this Pokemon's STAB moves. It's pretty frail and not the fastest thing in the world, although it does have Sucker Punch or Fake Out to alleviate the latter issue, but it's not the easiest thing in the world to get onto the field. There are also some bulkier checks, like Assault Vest Cinnastar, but Trick variants have seen some use in tournament. Very good breaker.
Faerenheit - Formerly the best Pokemon in the format, Faerenheit still remains a very beefy physical wall, capable of making for a strong check to some dangerous Pokemon like Sorree and Nimbusteed. It is by far the best Wish user in the format, and this can really go a long way in helping certain Pokemon like Crypterid see their full potential. It's very passive, though, which makes it somewhat exploitable, and it faces a lot of competition from Scalaron.
Tantrary - This is a breaker that is ranked here for reasons similar to Afloof, although not the same. It's one of few Pokemon in this format that has zero true defensive counters, but it really requires good prediction to use properly. Cinnastar, Scalaron, Borassa, and Modolith all will get 2HKOd at worst by either Psychic, Moonblast, or Overheat. It's similarly difficult to get onto the field as Afloof, though, and isn't fast so it will struggle against hyper offense.

A- Rank
Dragraceful -
While its role somewhat has been taken over by Sorree, Dragraceful is still a decent utility Scarfer. Its Speed stat is great for a Pokemon that likes running Scarf, with the only Pokemon beating it that commonly hits +1 being the aforementioned Sorree, and access to moves like Rapid Spin and the ability Queenly Majesty helps it set itself apart and give it a role on some teams.
Torgeist - Torgeist is still a very dangerous cleaner or breaker, although definitely not as good as it used to be. Merciless and Nasty Plot make it very difficult to switch into if you don't have a Sp. Def Modolith or Cinnastar. Thing is though, almost every bulkier team in the format is going to have at least one of those two Pokemon, and you're going to have to account for that when you play. This Pokemon ends up being more difficult to use for that reason, but still is a good option.
Dirtoad - Dirtoad has seen a bit of use recently for a Choice Band pivoting set that tends to have a pretty good matchup against most special breakers as well. It really sucks against Borassa, but can at least Flip Turn out against that, and gaining momentum against Borassa is really nice. Its physical bulk and Speed both leave a lot to be desired, though.
Scimicobra - Another very slow, but extremely powerful wallbreaker. Scimicobra has just about no defensive answers, and although Pokemon like Thuco-Tuco and Cinnastar make for stronger checks, it has the coverage to beat those if needed. It's very slow, which makes it an ideal candidate for Sticky Web teams, but it tends to have very little utility otherwise, which makes it compete with a lot of Pokemon that don't need to boost.
Centhorn - Triage is a fantastic ability that gives a lot of use to what would otherwise be a very mediocre Pokemon, since Swords Dance boosted Drain Punches and Horn Leeches are moderately threatening, are good for cleaning, and can also scare out most faster Pokemon even if unboosted. This is a Pokemon that absolutely requires support to function, though, since almost every team will intrinsically have at least one hard check to this Pokemon. The worst of this is with Scalaron and Faerenheit. Regardless, the utility of such strong priority cannot be understated.
Aerock - Poison Heal gives Aerock a really good matchup against a lot of more passive Pokemon by default, such as the bulky Fires and Borassa. It can also provide a lot of utility as well, between Stealth Rock, Rapid Spin, and U-Turn. It's not the fastest thing in the world, gets countered pretty easily by Thuco-Tuco and Modolith, and its typing doesn't help its overall lack of bulk, so it tends to struggle to do much aside from its assigned utility. That utility is still pretty good, though.
Nimbusteed - Another really scary breaker that fits like a glove onto most hyper offense archetypes. Aerilate boosted Double-Edge is no joke coming from a Pokemon with such a high base Attack stat. It's even slower than most defensive Pokemon in this format, though, and still is checked by Faerenheit and Cinnastar, so it's definitely not perfect.

B+ Rank
Kapagon
- This Pokemon is mostly run for its offensive Flip Turn spam when paired alongside other breakers like Sorree, and for that role, it's pretty good. That role is somewhat specific, but Flip Turns that are boosted by Choice Band and Drizzle are something to definitely be afraid of even off of a pretty mediocre base Attack stat. It needs to be mentioned that its Borassa matchup is terrible, though, and you're going to need some way of wearing it down or not giving it an opportunity to heal.
Regolite - Regolite is a potentially very dangerous sweeper that needs a lot of specific conditions to be met in order for it to truly shine. You need to get rid of Scarfers, priority from Centhorn and Afloof, Modolith, and sometimes Borassa depending on whether or not you're running Moonblast. A lot of teams I personally have fought haven't run immediate Speed control, so it may not be as difficult to meet those as it may seem. Also worth noting that this seems to get more use on hyper offense than anywhere else.
Zoltanka - Zoltanka has absolutely absurd special bulk alongside a great typing and access to Filter, making it a pretty efficient way of checking a lot of strong special attackers. Most notably, it makes for a fantastic Kelven check, although it has to watch for repeated Mystical Fires. Shift Gear variants have also popped up, but those admittedly have not seen too much success. What holds it back is how easy it is to wear down, especially with physical moves, and even more so with Knock Off. Wish support can alleviate this to some extent, though.
Polbearab - Polbearab is a moderately fast, bulky Ice-type with access to Poison Heal and Swords Dance to boost its power. It also has Ice/Fighting/Ground coverage, which makes it a pretty threatening balance breaker alongside what was mentioned before. The prevalence of Scalaron and Faerenheit hurt it in this role quite a bit, though, and it has a pretty noticeable lack of power before setting up.
Vulcaraptor - A pretty good breaker that has mostly seen use on Hyper Offense, Vulcaraptor can abuse its high Speed and great coverage in Rock Blast, Flame Charge, and Bonemerang to clean up teams in the late game. It often uses Hone Claws as well in this role. It struggles a lot with Borassa and Thuco-Tuco, though, which makes it pretty difficult to find the opportunity to use.
Crypterid - Crypterid has great special bulk and is one of the only viable Toxic Spikes users, which gives it some distinction over Cinnastar alongside Swords Dance. Modolith also makes for a great check, but Close Combat is a somewhat common move, so it isn't wise to go without scouting that out first. Thuco-Tuco makes for a very easy counter, though, and it lacks the same longevity that Cinnastar has defensively.
Sharm - Sharm has insane special bulk, but not really the best typing for the role. It also has access to Wish and both Spikes and Toxic Spikes, giving it some level of role compression. There aren't a lot of viable special attackers in the metagame as of right now, though, and it struggles with physical hits.

B Rank
Nunopod
- This is a Pokemon that has seen use in quite a few different roles. It's seen a bit of use as hazard control with Rapid Spin or Court Change, a bit of use as a pivot with Flip Turn, and a bit of use as a cleaner with Shift Gear or Sub Quiver Dance. It's not really the best at any of these roles, though.
Refluse - Refluse is a staple of Sticky Web, but nobody's really found a reason to put it onto other teams. It's a fantastic Sticky Web lead, though, as a high base Speed alongside a strong Poison STAB and Corrosion Toxic make it somewhat threatening and it will consistently get its Webs off, even if typically only once per game.
Abysseil - Abysseil is by far the fastest Pokemon in the metagame, but it's not that strong and it's not that bulky. Its role is as the best Dual Screens setter in the format, and it doesn't really do much more than that. Choice Specs has seen some use, though, although those aren't difficult to handle defensively and mandate much more support than most other cleaners would hope to have.
Kodokai - A pretty underexplored Pokemon compared to a lot of others that have a ranking, but still a pretty good one. Kodokai has shown to be a staple of Trick Room teams through its offensive Trick Room set, which is pretty difficult to switch into and has Teleport to help get teammates in safely. It doesn't really have a defined role otherwise, but it's still a staple of a team archetype that has had some good success.
Cyknight - Cyknight has fallen very far from its days of an uncounterable wallbreaker. Almost all balance teams have one counter in Thuco-Tuco, Scalaron, or Modolith as a very hard check. Cyknight has apparently still seen some use as a hyper offense mon that can use Final Gambit to trade with one of those Pokemon and open a hole for one of its teammates, and while I personally haven't seen or used it, it seems very risky and good prediction seems like an absolute necessity when using or playing against it. Despite what all there is against it, Cyknight still does have a place in the metagame.
Donzyxote - It's a defensive Pokemon with a bad typing and low physical bulk, but it checks Teslaple very well, can set Trick Room, and Teleport. Those three things give it a pretty strong role on Trick Room teams, though, even if it's not mandatory.
Crystelf - Crystelf is a pretty fragile lead that has a nice offensive presence to set it apart from the crowd, notably having Rock/Fairy/Ground coverage. The niche is there, and it's still not necessarily bad, but it loses hard to Modolith, which makes it somewhat difficult to justify for a lot of teams.
Draugelid - This is one of those Pokemon that can choose its counters. It's very potent on Sticky Web and Trick Room, but it's pretty fragile and an Ice-type so it's difficult to set up. There are a lot of breakers that have good matchups against it, but it has options against almost all of them.

B- Rank
Parakinesis -
Flying is a pretty strong STAB type for this meta, especially when combined with Focus Punch or possibly Zen Headbutt as coverage, but it's really difficult to justify over other breakers. It has Prankster for a few shenanigans there and is capable of running Choice Band for additional power to break Faerenheit, but both have their own sets of issues even if they are capable of doing their job.
Flydra - Flydra is an alright special breaker and pivot, although it's really not the best at its job. Its Speed tier is notable for only losing to Sorree and Abysseil, and its STAB Draco Meteors are somewhat scary, but it struggles against a lot of very common Pokemon. The most notable of which is Faerenheit, who completely stonewalls it.
Quadringo - Quadringo is capable of running Swords Dance and Dragon Dance sets while being a very good check to Teslaple and Sorree, but neither of these sets have really seen much success despite its coverage not being that bad. They still have seen some, though, and aren't that bad even if there are better options.
Rancourgar - Rancourgar is a breaker that is very prone to being worn down because of Reckless and its required decision between either Choice Band and Heavy-Duty Boots. It also loses pretty hard to Cinnastar, needs help to break Borassa and Faerenheit, and would like Sun to help it break in a meta where Sun isn't the greatest.

C Ranks
Snailord
(+) - I personally don't think this Pokemon is this bad, but it's still stuck on only Sticky Web since its bulky pivoting sets are outdone by Cinnastar. That being said though, it's kinda similar to Shuckle in that its main roles come in its bulk and Stealth Rock alongside Webs. It can also set Shell Smash and pose somewhat of a threat offensively, although it's nothing to write home about in that regard.
Arbrella (+) - Arbrella beats Teslaple unless it's CM Synthesis and can put something to Sleep but doesn't really do much else of note and is typically just worse than other Teslaple checks like Cinnastar.
Folliclawe - Folliclawe's stats are far too mediocre for it to be a good Pokemon. It struggles as a breaker and is too frail and just not fast enough to be an efficient cleaner. Some teams appreciate its STAB combo and Speed, though, so it's not unusable.
Serpaint (-) - The near universally agreed upon worst Pokemon in the metagame. It's okay at spreading paralysis, but struggles to do much else. It lacks the stats and coverage to succeed, and Torgeist makes for extremely tough competition due to similar roles.

Untested
Cindarner (Projected B-) -
Sun has been tested a few times to mixed results, and how good of a standalone breaker it is otherwise has not been explored enough.
Spiriteal (Projected B-) - Nobody really has felt the incentive to put this on their team without building exclusively around it, in which case nobody really knows what role it may have. Nasty Plot and Choice Scarf sets both hypothetically could see some use, though.
Coracrab (Projected C) - This is a Pokemon that has been tested a decent bit, but not enough. It's a threatening breaker with Swords Dance under certain hyper offense, but is distinctly worse than other breakers.
Gembezzle (Projected C) - Like Spiriteal, nobody really knows what role this Pokemon may have. It may be useful with Flare Boost but this hasn't really been tested at all.

And finally, after about two hours of typing, my work here is done. This is not a list I fully agree with, but it does give a good idea of what the metagame is like. I will shortly be editing the second post with this. Thank you guys for contributing here! My next post will be about the other results of the poll as well as usage stats and possibly Thuco-Tuco nerfs.

Here with a few tournament stats! One or two of the replays got overwritten but this has the rest. This will include Usage Stats, common teammates and moves, as well as what the people who helped with the VR survey said submitters should make these coming slates. Also note that this will need to be split into 2 posts because the usage stats are so long lol.

- More defensive staples in general. A lot of people said this, two specifying special walls, one specifying ones that beat Kelven and Sorree, and one specifying a specially-defensive pivot.
- A fast, specially offensive Water that boosts Dirtoad and Kapagon's viability and makes Cinnastar less omnipresent. Another person mentions more Waters in general, which plays into this by making two better and adding one more.
- Offensive Pokemon that beat Teslaple and Thuco-Tuco (physically offensive in the latter case).
- More weather abusers. I personally would prefer we stick to one or the other between making Sun and Rain good.

In addition, the council has decided that Thuco-Tuco's Sp. Def will be nerfed by 20 points. This might be followed by more changes later if the Curse set ends up being too overbearing, but we agreed that the Curse set has yet to see enough testing. That's about it though! The next slate is still being decided, but next week, we should be good to start the mod. See you then! Feel free to comment your thoughts on the tournament, what your personal VR would be, thoughts on the usage stats, et cetera.

Just wanted to note two things about this one. Specs Abysseil is quite viable IMO and fits the bill of a fast specially offensive water type. It has some good defensive counters like Borassa, Donzyhote, and Dirtoad (though this can die to Psyshock), but this is likely to be true of another fast offensive Water type. I don't think the addition of a new offensive Water type is a bad thing (we could use more Waters), but I'd like to see us not just remake Abysseil.

Also, I don't think the key to making Cinnastar less omniptresent is adding breakers or counters, because there are already a lot of pokemon like that. Modolith, Thuco-Tuco, Polbearab, Tantrary, Cyknight, Abysseil, Dirtoad, even setup Quadringo and many more can break it. The same cannot be said, however, of the many pokemon that Cinnastar can counter. Calm Mind Teslapple and Specs Kelven are the big ones that are really hard to counter any other way. We're better off focusing on adding more options to compete with Cinnastar than more pokemon that beat it. More special walls is already on the list you made, but I just wanted to clarify this.

Alright, back with the next slate and some buffs to go with it! Big thanks to Mossy Sandwich and readytolose for discussing these with me.

Serpaint now learns Focus Blast, Dragon Tail
Before, Serpaint got completely stonewalled by a lot of very common Pokemon. Borassa, Modolith, and Cinnastar all did very well against its most common sets, and although Glare + Hex helped with Cinnastar, it still really sucks for a Pokemon like this to have such a poor matchup to three defensive staples of the tier, especially given its underwhelming stats outside of Sp. Atk. Thanks to Focus Blast, though, it's no longer stonewalled by Borassa or Modolith and still has that option for Cinnastar. Dragon Tail is there as a nice other option to help support its status spreading role, with the biggest set in question being Toxic Spikes / Dragon Tail / Hex / Focus Blast.

Folliclawe now has +30 HP, learns Brick Break
An HP increase might be an odd buff, but let me explain. Any buffs to its power might make it too strong when boosted, especially given how few moves it needs to succeed, but it had other problems outside of this. I've never used it, but the other council members noted it was extremely difficult to set up outside from exploiting Borassa, and the HP boost is meant to fix this. At the absolute worst, this bulk increase is enough to make it a lot better at trading with things like Faerenheit, Thuco-Tuco, and Scalaron who would destroy it otherwise. It was able to set up on Borassa before, but it really struggled to break it and Modolith without relying on the extremely unreliable Cross Chop, and Brick Break actually does the job just fine here.

Arbrella now has +10 HP, -10 Attack, learns Whirlwind, Jungle Healing
This Pokemon is now the biggest Teslaple counter in the entire format. Before it struggled against Calm Mind variants, but a new option in Whirlwind makes it beat those pretty easily while also making it significantly less passive. We felt it needed slightly more bulk to make it perform its role just that much better, and Jungle Healing will be nice as an option over Stealth Rock to make it less succeptible to status while maintaining Shadow Shield. Also the Attack drop is because this seems to have originally been submitted as a Grass-type starter to match Scalaron, so why not keep that fun little bit too and let its BST remain?

In addition, with these buffs, Teslaple should be more manageable. It now has a true, hard counter in Arbrella, and Serpaint gaining prominence would give it another hard check as well. It will definitely be on the strong end regardless, though, and might even still be broken depending on exactly how good these two end up being, but we'll get there when we get there. We can really buff and nerf stuff as much as we need to.

And that's not all!

Set 2 - Scuffalopod (based on Grapploct)
Stats: 80 / 118 / 90 / 70 / 80 / 42 [BST: 480] (wt: 51kg)
Type: Water / Fighting
Abilities: Suction Cups / Technician / Regenerator
Notable Moves: Bulk Up, Close Combat, Drain Punch, Ice Punch, Liquidation, Octolock, Pain Split, Sucker Punch, Taunt
Full Movepool = Grapploct’s
Regenerator + Octolock just seems like a really fun combo, allowing Scuffalopod to play the long game and pick off walls one at a time for its team. It’s fairly frail though, and too slow to do much vs offense, so you need to build around it well to use it to its fullest potential.

Set 3 - Gradiator
Stats: 76 / 111 / 77 / 63 / 102 / 121 [BST: 550] (wt: 350kg)
Type: Fire / Steel
Abilities: Volt Absorb / Transistor
Notable Moves: Bulk Up, Fire Lash, Heat Crash, Heavy Slam, Iron Head, Thunder Wave, Volt Switch, Volt Tackle, Will-O-Wisp
Full Movepool will only be finished if it wins like with Thuco because tend to spend way too long on them lol
Gradiator generally plays as a fast pivot that can come in on the likes of Kelven, Scalaron, and (if Volt Absorb) Teslaple and scare them out. It’s a bit of a chip magnet, but provides offense with a solid check to some top-tier threats, which is pretty welcome right now.

Status Moves: Quiver Dance, Defog, Synthesis, Thunder Wave, Rock Polish, Sunny Day, Rain Dance
Universal moves: No

Description: Meets all the restrictions, by the way. With good special bulk, a recovery move, and an immunity to Toxic, this mon can set up Quiver Dances fairly easily, at which point it's an immediate threat due to its respectable power. Supportive sets are not out of the question too, with options like Defog and Knock Off being somewhat difficult to slot but potentially useful. Although it's not a great defensive mon due to a mediocre defensive type and not being too bulky it can still match up moderately well against Kelven and Teslaple. The main issues it faces as a sweeper are an inability to touch Steel-types, especially Modolith. It also has a mediocre Cinnastar matchup, although it can run tech like Earthquake or Flash Cannon to hit it. It can struggle sometimes to set up, but usually it can take a hit from a special attacker if needed. Lastly, it requires multiple boosts in order to outspeed Scarfers, only tying with Scarf Dragraceful at +2.

Status Moves: Thunder Wave, Slack Off, Taunt, Bulk Up, Swords Dance, Disable, Encore, Toxic, Reflect, Light Screen, Charge, Torment, Magnet Rise, Attract, Electric Terrain, Coaching
Universal moves: Yes

Description: Roserade expy. This mon uses its decent neutral STAB coverage and movepool to pose as an offensive threat. Technician has uses like powering up moves like Charge Beam, Vacuum Wave, and Mud Shot, but it's not technically necessary as sets not using these moves are perfectly viable as well. Charge Beam + 3 attacks can be a semi-consistent setup sweeper, Choiced sets are usable of course, and a neat stallbreaker set using Taunt + Slack Off is viable as well. This mon's best checks would be Dragons that resist Fighting, a club that all of them except Kapagon. Donzyxote, Quadringo, and Serpaint are probably the choices you would want to go with due to their good bulk, and in the case of Quadringo and Donzyxote, recovery options. Arbrella is probably the best Ground-type in order to take it on. Cinnastar and Crypterid fare decently as well, but they don't really appreciate Mud Shot too much at all. Fairly long laundry list of checks, but it's worth noting that this mon's movepool is full of tech, including surprising physical options and obscure weak moves that appreciate the Technician boost, so it may be able to surprise some of its checks.

Status Moves: Autotomize, Iron Defense, Sunny Day, Haze, Amnesia, Toxic, Whirlwind, Smokescreen, Magnetic Flux, Sandstorm, Magnet Rise, Metal Sound
Universal moves: Yes

Description: Slow and powerful. Unlike Thuco or Arbrella, this mon is a pure tank that doesn't rely on recovery, instead using its raw bulk and power to stomach hits and hit back hard. Steam Engine serves an interesting role, potentially punishing foes that try to hit it with super effective Water and Fire moves. You can even run Weakness Policy on it to dissuade that even more. Even without investment, it's bulky enough to live a single hit generally, so bringing it in on a predicted move or using it under Screens is an option. In terms of coverage, generally you want Volt Tackle for Scalaron or Heat Crash for Modolith. Also, because of its good special bulk and neutrality to important types such as Ice, Fairy, and Grass, it can be a good special tank, either with AV or something like Rest. In fact, a RestTalk set can absorb sleep from Teslaple too if that's what you're into. Although it doesn't offer the utility that Crypterid has or the longevity of Cinnastar in general, it is notably bulkier and more powerful and is a reasonable alternative.

Description: An armored Pegasus that is said to only descend to the ground when a war breaks out. Pegarmor acts as a great Sorrée counter as well as an alternative defogger to Scalaron and Teslaple. It can use all-out attacking sets thanks to its good coverage or could go for a bulky set-up sweeper set thanks to its access to Roost and Bulk Up. It can also easily fit defog on its moveset as its 2 stabs are good enough coverage on their own. With the format currently lacking basic fighting types and defoggers, I think Pegarmor could be a great addition.

Description: Electric snake. It uses Technician-boosted utility moves, such as Poison Fang, Acid Spray, Clear Smog and Electroweb. Its typing and special bulk makes it a great blanket check to some of the common special attackers of the format, notably Kelven, Teslaple and Afloof. While its defense may be on the lower side, it can boost it with a Coil set which is made even better by its Toxic immunity, high special bulk and access to Recover. Overall, good special wall with an interesting blend of utility.

Description: A special wall with positive matchups vs. Teslapple, Kelven, Afloof, Torgeist, Cinnastar, and to some extent Tantrary and Thuco-Tuco. However, it opens the door for lesser-seen Special threats like Cindarner, Serpaint (who has Focus Blast now), and Kodokai. The high Atk and SpA help it deal with some tough setup sweepers, but its coverage leaves enough gaps (Fire/Water/Steel) that switch-ins are fairly common. Having good matchups against top pokemon, good support moves, and yet a lot of weaknesses, means this should be a useful, balanced addition to the tier.
