PU Tangela (QC 2/2) (GP 1/1)

Katy

Banned deucer.
1616013954312.png
[OVERVIEW]
Tangela's solid bulk, further bolstered by Eviolite, in combination with its great ability in Regenerator makes it a great switch-in to top physical threats like Lycanroc, Passimian and Kabutops. Tangela also has great supportive options such as Knock Off, Leech Seed, Toxic, and Sleep Powder, which makes up for its mediocre damage output. However, Tangela is held back by its poor special bulk and bad typing, as being pure Grass leaves it vulnerable to a plethora of top Pokemon like Ribombee, Guzzlord, and Alolan Exeggutor. Additionally, Tangela is very reliant on its item Eviolite, and a lot of Pokemon that it checks carry Knock Off, making Tangela less reliable of an answer to them. Furthermore, it dislikes getting poisoned by Toxic, making it less effective as a pivot.

[SET]
name: Defensive
move 1: Giga Drain
move 2: Knock Off
move 3: Leech Seed / Synthesis
move 4: Toxic / Sleep Powder
item: Eviolite
ability: Regenerator
nature: Bold
evs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]

Knock Off is a great utility move and is able to remove items such as Heavy-Duty Boots from Pokemon such as Centiskorch, Charizard, and Ribombee. Leech Seed allows Tangela to cripple answers like Charizard and potentially help a teammate like Gigalith, although Synthesis gives it an easier time beating Pokemon like Absol in a one-on-one, which it can't reliably do when running Leech Seed. Toxic cripples defensive Pokemon better, while Sleep Powder cripples offensive Pokemon such as Passimian and allows it to bring a wallbreaker or setup sweeper in with more ease.

Rock-types such as Regirock check Fire-types such as Magmortar and Charizard. Lanturn also checks threats like Magmortar, Charizard, and in particular Heliolisk that Tangela dislikes; it can also provide Heal Bell support for Tangela. In return, Tangela checks Palossand and Sandaconda for them. Since Tangela hates Poison-types like Toxicroak and Weezing, partners like Uxie and Palossand are appreciated. In return, Tangela checks Togedemaru and Absol for them. Frail wallbreakers like Sneasel, Archeops, and Vikavolt dislike the presence of foes such as Passimian, Togedemaru, and Lycanroc, so Tangela makes up for a great defensive backbone to rely on.

[OVERVIEW]
Tangela carves a niche as a physical wall in the PU tier with checking common Pokemon. Its great ability in Regenerator lets it stay healthy and in combination with its great physical bulk and Eviolite it acts as a reliable blanket check to common Pokemon such as Virizion, Passimian, Gigalith, and Lycanroc (these two sentences say the same thing, I feel like you can merge them or make the info more concise). Furthermore, Tangela possesses a lot of forms of recovery such as Giga Drain, Leech Seed, and Synthesis, which lets it perform that role reliably. Tangela can also make use of Knock Off and Toxic to help cripple down opposing Pokemon. However, even tho Tangelas physical bulk is outstanding it doesn't like to go up against specially offensive wallbreaker. Additionally, losing its Eviolite hurts Tangela and the potential of checking the aforementioned threats. Tangela is also prone to status such as Toxic, as this hurts its ability to come in on the above mentioned threats.

Tangela fits well on teams like bulky offense and balance, which are in need of a solid physical wall, due to its great typing in Grass it can fend off most foes in PU. Strong physical wallbreakers like Choice Scarf Passimian and Lycanroc are checked well by Tangela, as Tangela offers that great bulk to do that task (everything after the comma is fluff, also try to mix up your examples since you already mentioned these above). Giga Drain is its STAB move of choice granting it recovery while dealing damage to the opponent simultaniously. Knock Off is a great utility (move) and is able to remove items such as Heavy-Duty Boots from Pokemon such as Centiskorch, Charizard, and Braviary. Leech Seed provides Tangela with longevity and racks up damage on the opposing Pokemon. Synthesis allows Tangela to maintain its longevity in conjunction with Regenerator, which makes Tangela a difficult wall to deal with. Toxic cripples foes such as Charizard and Talonflame upon switch-in. Sleep Powder puts a wide range of Pokemon to sleep and is a solid option against Pokemon such as Charizard and Silvally-Steel (again you already used Zard in the previous sentence. Silvally-Steel is already there, so why not put another Steel instead of Charizard?). Its item Eviolite increases both defenses. Bold and max HP and max Defense are chosen to let it wall physical threats effectively (fluff).

Tangela dislikes strong special attackers so teammates such as Lanturn are great partners, as it checks Charizard and Magmortar, Lanturn also checks Talonflame; in return, Tangela checks Virizion for Lanturn. In addition, both share a great type synergy and Lanturn brings in Tangela safely with Volt Switch and provides Heal Bell support for Tangela. Poison-types such as Toxicroak and Weezing are a threat to Tangela so Mesprit is a great partner to deal with them, Tangela checks Togedemaru and Absol (this is probably a grammar issue but why is this mention out of nowhere like that?). Flying-types such as Talonflame and Braviary are threatening so Rock-types such as Regirock makes up for a great partner; in return, Tangela checks Palossand and Virizion for it.

There's a lot of weird GP stuff in here that makes it generally hard to read. I only tried to intervene where I thought it directly impacted the content of the analysis, but there are a bunch more problems I saw. From what I can tell you're not a native English speaker so this is fine, but I would suggest brushing up on that, because right now it looks a bit unprofessional.

[OVERVIEW]
Its great ability in Regenerator lets it stay healthy and in combination with its great physical bulk and Eviolite it acts as a reliable blanket check to common Pokemon such as Virizion, Passimian, Gigalith, and Lycanroc info good, phrasing bad. the two bits of the sentence don't stick together. if you read this sentence out loud the transition to the regenerator clause and the bulk clause should sound pretty weird, normally a good way of picking up grammatical errors like this. Furthermore, Tangela possesses a lot of forms of recovery such as Giga Drain, Leech Seed, and Synthesis, which lets it perform that role reliably one thing you might want to do is mention regen with this and first talk about its insane physical bulk on its own. Tangela can also make use of Knock Off and Toxic to help cripple down opposing Pokemon would go more general to emphasize it has a lot of support options, knock/toxic/sleep/seed are 4 ways it can mess with things to make up for its mediocre damage output. However, even though Tangela's physical bulk is outstanding it doesn't like to go up against specially offensive wallbreaker grammatically wrong and a bit restrictive, expanding this to be more like "poor special bulk and bad typing hold it back" would make more sense. Additionally, losing its Eviolite hurts Tangela and the potential of checking the aforementioned threats. Tangela is also prone to status such as Toxic, as this hurts its ability to come in on the above mentioned threats. can just combine these 2 sentences into one don't get knocked or toxic'd

[SET COMMENTS]

Tangela fits well on teams like bulky offense and balance, which are in need of a solid physical wall, due to its great typing in Grass it can fend off most foes in PU this sentence does nothing and doesn't need to be here, sometimes "best fits on xyz archetypes" is good but it's pretty unnecessary here because it's not really non-obvious where Tangela fits. Strong physical wallbreakers like Archeops and Scrafty are checked well by Tangela, as Tangela offers that great bulk to do that task and this sentence can be deleted because it just has no useful info. Giga Drain is its STAB move of choice granting it recovery while dealing damage to the opponent simultaniously and this one can be deleted because you don't need to explain the basic stab move, obvious wha tit does. Knock Off is a great utility move and is able to remove items such as Heavy-Duty Boots from Pokemon such as Centiskorch, Charizard, and Braviary. Leech Seed provides Tangela with longevity and racks up damage on the opposing Pokemon. Synthesis allows Tangela to maintain its longevity in conjunction with Regenerator, which makes Tangela a difficult wall to deal with better to contrast the two slashed options. both recovery but synthesis is better for staying in and 1v1ing something while leech makes you pivot more. Toxic cripples foes such as Charizard and Talonflame upon switch-in bad examples just because knock cripples them really well, better to mention pretty much anything knock isn't even better vs. Sleep Powder puts a wide range of Pokemon to sleep and is a solid option against Pokemon such as Togedemaru and Silvally-Steel. rather than say what it does (obvious) more useful to hit the tradeoff on toxic vs sleep- the former cripples defensive mons better, the latter has you playing a more offensive game

Tangela dislikes strong special attackers so teammates such as Lanturn are great partners, as it checks Charizard and Magmortar, Lanturn also checks Talonflame; in return, Tangela checks Virizion for Lanturn this sentence is stupendously run-on. also tangela is not a very good virizion check, it can in some circumstances but not to the point where I'd make a note of it here. In addition, both share a great type synergy and Lanturn brings in Tangela safely with Volt Switch and provides Heal Bell support for Tangela volting in is entirely irrelevant for tangela which doesn't lack switch-in opportunities and isn't frail, although heal bell is worth mentioning. Poison-types such as Toxicroak and Weezing are a threat to Tangela so Mesprit is a great partner to deal with them I'd prefer you get more general here, not just mention 1 specific partner. this is especially true when mesprit is not a good Toxicroak switch-in at all, if only 1 thing gets mentioned to help with poisons it's not mesprit, Tangela checks Togedemaru and Absol for it. Flying-types such as Talonflame and Braviary are threatening so Rock-types such as Regirock makes up for a great partner; in return, Tangela checks Palossand and Virizion for it.
this whole partner section is written with the exact same kind of sentences and structure, not sure if you have much experience varying your writing but it'd help the repetitiveness a lot here. you also don't really hit pokemon that benefit from Tangela's presence, it can support frail breakers that need something really fat to fall back on when they're forced out

[OVERVIEW]
Tangela's solid bulk, further bolstered by Eviolite, in combination with its great ability in Regenerator make it a great switchin to threats threats is a bit generic, hitting more like top physical threats would make more sense like Lycanroc and Passimian this sentence is still written incredibly awkwardly, again I would recommend reading them out loud if you can't distinguish awkward writing visually. Tangela also has great supportive options such as Knock Off, Leech Seed, Toxic, and Sleep Powder which makes up for its mediocre damage output. However, Tangela is held back by its poor special bulk and bad typing this should not be the whole sentence, expand slightly. Additionally, losing its Eviolite hurts Tangela and extra space here it dislikes getting poisoned by Toxic, which makes it less effective at fullfilling its role.

[SET COMMENTS]

Knock Off is a great utility move and is able to remove items such as Heavy-Duty Boots from Pokemon such as Centiskorch, Charizard, and Braviary. Leech Seed allows Tangela to pivot more feels like you copied off my comment without understanding what it said. leech seed itself doesnt allow you to pivot more it mandates that, it means you stay in and 1v1 less and pivot out into other things more. it's a different dynamic when you play with the mon but the move itself doesnt allow or disallow anything, while Synthesis allows it to stay in and 1v1 the Pokemon it checks such as Archeops weird example since you'll be spamming giga drain vs archeops and also tangela and archeops dont really actively switch into each other and Absol. Toxic cripples defensive Pokemon better, while Sleep Powder lets you play a more offensive game again with the sorta copying the comment and not the intent, it's not a "more offensive game" it's just more crippling to offensive mons. like, audino hates toxic more than sleep, passimian hates sleep more than toxic. Lanturn checks threats like Magmortar, Charizard, and Talonflame that Tangela dislikes; it can also provide Heal Bell support for Tangela. Since Tangela hates Poison-types like Toxicroak and Weezing, partners like Uxie and Palossand are appreciated. In return, Tangela checks Togedemaru and Absol for them. Flying-types such as Talonflame and Braviary are threatening so Rock-types such as Regirock makes up for a great partner; in return, Tangela checks Palossand and Virizion for it. Wallbreaker frail wallbreakers, the frail bit is the key. also ribombee is not a wallbreaker like Sneasel and Ribombee dislike the presence of foes such as Passimian, Lycanroc, and Togedemaru, so Tangela makes up for a great defensive backbone to rely on.

Tangela's solid bulk, further bolstered by Eviolite, in combination with its great ability in Regenerator make it a great switchin to physical top threats like Lycanroc, Kingler, and Passimian. Tangela also has great supportive options such as Knock Off, Leech Seed, Toxic, and Sleep Powder which makes up for its mediocre damage output. However, Tangela is held back by its poor special bulk and bad typing, as being pure Grass leaves it vulnerable to a plethora of top Pokemon (like?) in PU. Additionally, losing its Eviolite hurts Tangela (i think this should be more abt how reliant it is on its item to work properly & also how a lot of mons it want to check have koff, making it less reliable at answering them) and it dislikes getting poisoned by Toxic, which makes it less effective at fullfilling its role.

Knock Off is a great utility move and is able to remove items such as Heavy-Duty Boots from Pokemon such as Centiskorch, Charizard, and Braviary Ribombee. Leech Seed makes Tangela switch out more often, while Synthesis allows it to stay in and 1v1 the Pokemon it checks such as Passimian and Absol. (i'd reword this to say smth like "Leech Seed allows Tangela to cripple answers like Charizard and potentially help a teammate like Gigalith, although Synthesis gives it an easier time beating Pokemon like Absol in a 1v1, which it can't reliably do when running Leech Seed." Toxic cripples defensive Pokemon better, while Sleep Powder cripples offensive Pokemon such as Passimian. (sleep also allows u to bring a wallbreaker / setup sweeper in easier, which is worth noting imo) Lanturn checks threats like Magmortar, Charizard, and Talonflame Heliolisk that Tangela dislikes; it can also provide Heal Bell support for Tangela. Since Tangela hates Poison-types like Toxicroak and Weezing, partners like Uxie and Palossand are appreciated. In return, Tangela checks Togedemaru and Absol for them. Flying-types such as Talonflame and Braviary (both r nu; u could also merge this point with the lanturn one, as rock-types also check fire-types) are threatening so Rock-types such as Regirock makes up for a great partner; in return, Tangela checks Palossand and Virizion for it. Frail wallbreakers like Sneasel, Archeops, and Vikavolt dislike the presence of foes such as Passimian, Togedemaru, and Lycanroc, so Tangela makes up for a great defensive backbone to rely on.
