As a result of deadly Adaptability-boosted STAB moves, great Speed tier, and unpredictability between special and physical sets, Basculin is a premier special wallbreaker. However, it's incredibly frail, so it has to be cautious of revenge killers like Kangaskhan, Cinccino, and Gourgeist-S. Flip Turn allows Basculin to chip switch-ins and checks like Audino and Wishiwashi while keeping momentum. Ice Beam deals with some Water-resistant foes like Tangela and Altaria. Toxic cripples foes like Jellicent and Wishiwashi.

Basculin typically fits on offensive and balance teams looking for an immediate special wallbreaker with a solid Speed tier. Choice Specs Basculin provides great support for physical wallbreakers like Kangaskhan and Sawk that have trouble with physical walls. In return, they can deal with special walls like Wishiwashi and Audino, which Basculin struggles to break through. Defensive pivots such as Uxie and Articuno can take hits for Basculin and bring it safely on the field with U-turn, while Basculin helps them with its pivoting. This works very well in tandem with entry hazard support from the likes of Ferrothorn and Garbodor, as it allows Basculin to OHKO targets like Cofagrigus and Gurdurr. Partners like Ninetales and Frosmoth cover Grass-types like Tangela, while teammates like Thwackey and Rotom handle Water-types like Wishiwashi.

[SET COMMENTS]
Choice Band Basculin takes advantage of its respectable Speed tier and Adaptability to tear through Pokemon that normally absorb its special attacks, like Audino and Articuno. Flip Turn chips checks such as Altaria, Ferroseed, and Tangela while keeping momentum. Aqua Jet helps Basculin revenge kill weakened, faster foes such as Cinccino and Ninetales. Superpower allows Basculin to break through Ferroseed, which can sponge the rest of its attacks well. Alternatively, Psychic Fangs can be used to provide coverage against Qwilfish and Poliwrath, which can similarly handle the rest of Basculin's attacks well.

Basculin pairs well with special attackers such as Alcremie, Frosmoth, Ninetales, and Rotom, as it can take down special walls like Audino that its teammates struggle with and also lure in physical walls and use Flip Turn. Defensive pivots like Uxie, Alolan Persian, and Articuno let Basculin safely enter the field and can take hits for it. Offensive pivots such as Silvally-Ground, and Cinccino similarly allow Basculin to safely enter the field by threatening or KOing foes. Basculin pairs nicely with Pokemon that can threaten Water-types such as Rotom, Thwackey, and Manectric. Frosmoth, Rapidash, and Ninetales take care of Grass-types, with Frosmoth notably also checking one of the biggest threats to Basculin in Altaria.

[SET COMMENTS]
Choice Scarf Basculin is a great choice for teams that want a very hard hitting revenge killer and pivot. Flip Turn chips switch-ins such as Ferroseed and Clefairy while providing momentum. Ice Beam is great coverage against Pokemon like Altaria and Tangela, which can normally switch into its Water-type attacks. Toxic cripples checks like Jellicent and Wishiwashi.

Choice Scarf Basculin is usually found on offense and balance teams looking for a revenge killer. VoltTurn cores love having Basculin on their team, as it enables these cores with Flip Turn while bulkier pivots like Alolan Persian and Uxie can help Basculin switch in easily. Teammates such as Centiskorch and Skuntank serve as answers to bulky Grass-types like Tangela. Thwackey and Rotom check Water-types that sponge Basculin's attacks and are additional offensive pivots that keep momentum. Lastly, entry hazard removers like Altaria and Rotom-S clear entry hazards that wear down Basculin as it pivots.

Surf is more accurate than Hydro Pump, but its lower power makes it less favorable than Hydro Pump. Mystic Water bluffs a Choice item and lures in foes like Ninetales and Altaria, allowing Basculin to potentially revenge kill them with Aqua Jet or Ice Beam. However, the extra power or Speed from Choice items are more beneficial. A physical Choice Scarf seems reasonable, but Hydro Pump's power makes special Choice Scarf sets better.

Checks and Counters
==================

**Water-types**: Water-types like Wishiwashi, Jellicent, and Poliwrath easily handle Basculin's STAB moves. However, they must be wary of Toxic. Qwilfish does a great job at tanking Basculin's physical attacks, but it cannot deal with Choice Specs sets.

**Grass-types**: Grass-types such as Tangela, Appletun, and Eldegoss can switch into Basculin's Water type attacks, but they must be careful of Ice Beam. Ferroseed absorbs both Water-type attacks and Ice Beam but has to be wary of Superpower.

**Faster Attackers**: Faster foes like Cinccino and Manectric are able to revenge kill Basculin, but they have to watch out for Choice Scarf Basculin or Aqua Jet.

**Priority Users**: Priority users such as Thwackey and Kangaskhan easily remove Basculin due to its poor bulk.

**Special Walls**: Special walls like Audino and Articuno can PP stall Hydro Pump, but they are 2HKOed by it. Clefairy handles Choice Specs Basculin well, but all of these Pokemon have to watch out for Choice Band Basculin.

**Altaria**: Altaria can endure physical attacks, take most special attacks, and can switch out to remove Toxic. However, it has to watch out for Ice Beam from special sets.

This as a lot of fluff, try to avoid unnecessary details. Keep it as brieve as possible! The content is great for a first analysis, but I'd like to give another look before giving you the 1st QC.
Some grammar stuff, Pokemon without é because Smogdex doesn't support them well. Alolan Persian not Persian-Alola. Pokemon that blalbla, not Pokemon who blabla.

With Water type attacks going unresisted by a significant portion of the metagame, Basculin stands out as one of the most prominent wallbreakers in ZU. I don't like this overview. There are 4 important things to mention about Specs Basculin: it hits hard, it's quite fast, it's tremendously frail and it's unpredictable. You should inspire from the writting of your second overview as it is great. Hydro Pump is capable of getting a 2HKO on defensive staples like Uxie, and even gets an OHKO on some defensive Pokémon like Persian-Alola. Fluff, you don't need to explain what a STAB move does Furthermore, with the pivoting value that Flip Turn provides, it allows Basculin to exit the playing field if it’s in a troublesome situation. Since Basculin is Choice locked, it's not really true. Flip Turn allows Basculin to chip some of its checks while keeping momentum. With Basculin having a solid Attack stat, it’s more valuable to provide more power to Basculin’s arsenal rather than making it ever so slightly bulkier; this is why a Naive nature is ran with 4 Attack EVs. Fluff Ice Beam is used as terrific coverage, as it deals supereffective damage to Pokémon Water resistant foes like Tangela and Altaria. Lastly, Toxic is used for Basculin to cripple walls such as Miltank that typically handle special attacks well. sturdy Water resistant or immune threats such as Poliwrath, Wishiwashi, and Jellicent.

Basculin typically fits on offensive and balance teams, as one can presume by its nature as a glass cannon that are looking for an immediatly powerful fast special wallbreaker. Choice Specs Basculin provides great support for physical wallbreakers like Kangaskhan and Sawk, who sometimes have trouble with physical walls. With Voltturn strategies having a large presence in ZU, Nah, it doesn't fit well because the playstyle is great in ZU, it fits well because bulkier pivot can sponge hits for Basculin and bring it safely on the field while Basculin also enables such cores thanks to Flip Turn. Basculin also meshes well with fellow offensive pivots like Rotom and Silvally-Ground rework the later part of the sentence too to fit to the above comment. However, Basculin is not limited to just offensive teams, as it can function as a great wallbreaker on balance teams that need some extra punch. In particular, Pokémon like Altaria and Ferroseed are able to absorb Electric and Grass type attacks that would otherwise kill Basculin. Not really relevant as Basculin can't afford to take any hit at all. Basculin also appreciates Knock Off users like Uxie and Persian-Alola, who can leave Eviolite users more vulnerable to its attacks. Not relevant enough. On the contrary I'd like to hear about partners that take advantage of or can break through Grass- and Water-types as they are the biggest counters to Specs Basculin.

Choice Band Basculin takes advantage of its respectable Attack stat, and helps tear through Pokémon that normally absorb its Choice Specs attacks. Fit something about Adaptability, frailty and great Speed tier on the overview too. Liquidation, Flip Turn, and Aqua Jet are the go-to STAB moves for Basculin, as each move serves a unique purpose despite sharing the same type. Fluff Liquidation is its most powerful attack, Fluff too Flip Turn gives it the ability to pivot as mentioned previously, nah, you can't redirect to other sets you have to explain why it's useful once more, same comment as on the Specs set though. and (making it a different sentence) Aqua Jet helps it revenge kill weakened faster opponents give examples that are typically faster than it. Lastly, Superpower allows Basculin to break through Pokémon like Ferroseed, that typically don’t mind enduring a Water type attack can sponge its other moves. Psychic Fangs can also be used to provide coverage against bulky Fighting types like Gurdurr Qwilfish and Poliwrath that don't mind enduring Basculin's STAB moves.

Basculin pairs well with special attackers such as Frosmoth, Ninetales, Alcremie and Rotom, as Basculin can take down special walls with its physical attacks mention that in return it can attract physical walls and pivot on them with Flip Turn, allowing special attackers to take advantage of those. This opens up opportunities for special sweepers like Ninetales and Frosmoth. It also puts less pressure on special attackers like Alcremie and Rotom, who typically worry about the special walls that Basculin can break through. Similarly to the previous set, defensive cores that complement Basculin well are Knock Off users and resistances to Basculin’s weaknesses. Don't compare sets between each other and this was also removed from th epreivous set This includes Pokémon mentioned before, like Uxie and Persian-Alola. Other teammates that can absorb attacks Basculin is weak to include Rapidash, Tangela, and more. Same comments as for the previous set as both sets share a lot of similarities. You want pivots to take hits for Basculin and bring it safely on the field, while Basculin's Flip Turn also benefits these cores. Additionally, you want to mention Pokemon that take advantage of Grass- and Water-types like for the above set, but also of Altaria.

This set uses the same moveset and EV spread as the Choice Specs set, but is used differently. Opposing Choice Scarf users like Sawk and Rotom typically outspeed Basculin, but with a Choice Scarf, Basculin functions as great speed control that still has very solid damage output. While Choice Scarf lacks the immediate power of Choice Band or Choice Specs, Basculin’s speed tier makes it one of the fastest users of Choice Scarf in ZU. As a result, it can revenge kill quick threats such as Cinccino and Manectric. This has to be completly rewritten. Inspire from the other sets as you did far better. One sentence to explain Basculin's niche and then you explain moves/ability/evs/item etc... (only moves are necessary on this set)

Choice Scarf Basculin will usually be found on offensive and balance teams looking for a form of speed control and revenge killing. Partners like Centiskorch and Silvally-Ground run the risk of being killed by faster enemies, so Choice Scarf Basculin helps them thrive by taking care of those opponents. No need to explain what a revenge killer does, especially since Basculin can't really switch in on the thing that force Skorch and Vally out. With Basculin typically being the fastest Pokémon on the field with a Choice Scarf, it likes to pivot into a Pokémon that doesn’t mind taking a hit. This is why even though Basculin itself is fragile, it can be found on either bulkier offensive teams, or teams with lots of immunities. So, Pokémon like Articuno are occasionally seen alongside it. Just like for the other sets you have the mention how great it is on voltturn cores, that you need stuff to take advantage of water and grass-types. You can also say it is extremely potent on stack hazard teams as it combines well with Flip Turn, providing the chips Basculin needs to clean late game.

On special variants, it’s reasonable if one prefers the consistent accuracy of Surf, but the extra damage from Hydro Pump is more favorable. Toxic can be replaced by Aqua Jet to revenge kill opponents with greater speed, but Aqua Jet isn’t particularly powerful without investing in a physical set. Not worth mentioning If one does not want to be restricted by a choice item, then Mystic Water works on practically any Basculin set Another goal of Mystic Water is faking being locked to bait the opponent on bringing a Pokémon that can be picked off by Aqua Jet or Ice Beam, like Ninetales coming to revenge kill Basculin or Altaria to sponge HPump. However, the extra power or speed that comes with choice items, tends to outweigh the risks.

Checks and Counters
==================

**Physical or Special Walls**: Physical variants of Basculin can typically be walled by Pokémon such as Tangela and Altaria. Special variants of Basculin usually can’t break past special walls like Ferroseed and Wishiwashi. However, one would need to infer what Basculin set is potentially being used, in order to respond accordingly. This is due to Pokémon like Ferroseed hating being hit by Superpower, and Pokémon like Altaria getting destroyed by an Ice Beam.

**Revenge Killers**: With Basculin being as frail as it is, it can easily be knocked out by Pokémon with priority attacks, like Kangaskhan and Thwackey. Pokémon with faster speed, such as Cinccino and Manectric, can also kill Basculin if they are at high enough health to survive a potential Aqua Jet.

**Water Absorb**: Although Poliwrath dislikes being hit by Psychic Fangs, and Jellicent can potentially get inflicted with Toxic, being able to soak up Basculin’s Water type attacks has some massive upside.

There are some great ideas there but I disagree with how you cut the sections.

**Water-types** (this also include Water immune Pokemon like Jelli and Poliwrath), don't forget to mention that Qwilfish has to be extremely careful as it can't handle special sets

**Grass-types** Same comment than for Qwilfish but apply it for Tangela, and mention that Ice Beam can cause heavy damage

**Faster Attackers**

**Priorities** Revenge Killers have to be separated in two sections

**Special Walls**: Mention it's not true for the CB set and that Specs set can break through them with minimal chips

**Altaria**: can take everything but Ice Beam

Basculin is a premier ZU wallbreaker that hits tremendously hard thanks to an Adaptability boosted Hydro Pump, and it sits at quite a favorable speed tier. However, it’s incredibly frail, so it has to be cautious of Pokemon that checks it. I still don't like this introduction. As a result of deadly Adaptability boosted STAB moves, great Speed tier, and unpredictability between special and physical sets, Basculin established as a premier special wallbreaker despite its frailty. Flip Turn allows Basculin to chip switch-ins and checks such as … , especially with entry hazard support from the likes of …, while keeping the momentum in the user’s favor. Ice Beam is used as terrific coverage, as it deals with some Water resistant foes like Tangela and Altaria. Lastly, Toxic is used for Basculin to cripple Water resistant or immune threats that can spong Basculin's hits like Jellicent and Wishiwashi.

Basculin typically fits on offensive and balance teams, looking for an immediate special wallbreaker with a solid speed Speed tier. Choice Specs Basculin provides great support for physical wallbreakers like Kangaskhan and Sawk, who sometimes that have trouble with physical walls such as …. While in return they can deal with special walls that Basculin struggles to break through. (give examples) Basculin also fits on Voltturn teams, as bulkier Pokemon can help sponge attacks for it while Basculin helps enable these cores due to Flip Turn. In particular, defensive Pokemon like Altaria and Ferroseed can easily take a hit when sent onto the field, and bulky pivots Wishiwashi allow Basculin to safely switch in. This is inaccurate. Defensive pivots can take hit for Basculin and bring it safely on the field, while Basculin also helps such cores with its pivoting move. Altaria and Ferroseed don't have access to VoltTurn moves so there is no reason to mention them under this point, while Wishiwashi seems like a mediocre partner for Basculin as they share their checks and counters (a pure water-type isn't defensively supporting a pure water-type). Lastly, with Grass and Water type Pokemon being the biggest checks to Basculin, other wallbreakers like Ninetales and Thwackey provide coverage that take care of Basculin’s counters. Make this two separates points, one for Grass-types checks and another for Water-type checks.

Flip Turn gives it the ability to chip Basculin’s its checks such as … while keeping the momentum going. Aqua Jet helps lets it revenge kill weakened faster opponents that are typically faster than it, such as Cinccino and Ninetales. Psychic Fangs can also be used to provide coverage against Qwilfish, who that can similarly handle the rest of Basculin’s attacks well.

Basculin pairs well with special attackers such as Alcremie, Frosmoth, Ninetales, and Rotom. This is, because not only can Basculin take down the special walls that its teammates can struggle with, but it can also lure in physical walls and use Flip Turn to bring in a powerful special attacker. Slower Defensive pivots (outside of Whiswashi which isn't a good partner, ZU doesn't have many good slow pivots), including Wishiwashi same comment as for the Specs set, Uxie, and Clefairy Teleport Clefairy is trash, find other examples, let Basculin safely enter the field after the opponent attacks and can take hits for Basculin. Also mention Offensive VoltTurn users. Basculin also fits nicely with Pokemon that can kill take out (Pokemon never get killed, they faint) Basculin’s checks, such as how Frosmoth takes care of opponents like Tangela and Altaria, while Rotom poses a threat versus opposing Wishiwashi and Jellicent. You're being too specific in this last part. Separate the checks in categories, i.e. make one point on Pokémon that handle Grass-types and another on the ones that beat Water-types. Choice Scarf allows Basculin to elevate its speed tier to new heights, as it can outspeed Pokemon that typically are faster than it, such as Cinccino and Choice Scarf Rotom That's not telling why you would use Choice Scarf Basculin, i.e. having a very hard hitting scarfer that can pivot. Hydro Pump helps it maintain its power, while Flip Turn chips switch-ins to Basculin such as ... while providing momentum. Ice Beam is great coverage against Pokemon like Altaria and Tangela, that can normally switch into its Water type attacks. When none of its attacks can do notable damage, it can cripple these defensive checks with Toxic, like Jellicent and Wishiwashi.

Choice Scarf Basculin will usually be found on offense and balance teams looking for a form of speed control and revenge killing. Find better examples Basculin needs teammates that can answer the bulky Grass and Water type Pokemon of the tier, such as Centiskorch and Thwackey make this two separate points with more examples. With the chip that Basculin gets on opponents with Flip Turn, this complements the chip provided by hazard stack setters greatly. Stealth Rock setters like Uxie, and Spikes setters like Ferroseed and Garbodor, provide more chip to the opponent, which helps Basculin clean in the late game. Rephrase the last sentence to say their is a great synergy between entry hazard and fast flip turn.

**Water-types**: Water-type Pokémon like Wishiwashi, and Water type immunities like Jellicent, and Poliwrath, can easily handle Basculin’s STAB moves. However, they must be careful of getting afflicted by Toxic. Qwilfish also does a great job at tanking Basculin’s physical attacks, but it is fragile against Choice Specs sets.

**Grass-types**: Grass-type Pokemon such as Tangela can also switch into Basculin’s Water type attacks, but they must be careful to not switch into an Ice Beam. Name for examples, especially Ferroseed that only cares about Superpower and can punish Flip Turn with iron barbs.

**Faster Attackers**: When at full health, faster opponents like Cinccino and Manectric are able to revenge kill Basculin while also surviving an Aqua Jet. In spite of this, they do have to watch out for a potential Choice Scarf Basculin or Aqua Jet.

**Priorities** With Basculin being as frail as it is, priority users such as Thwackey and Kangaskhan easily dispose Basculin after safely switching in.

**Special Walls**: Special walls like Audino and Ferroseed can certainly handle Choice Specs Basculin well, but this is not true when it comes to Choice Band Basculin. Audino gets 2HKOed by Specs HPump. Ferroseed goes under Grass-types. Find other examples (Clefairy being one).

**Altaria**: Altaria can endure all of Basculin’s attacks except for Ice Beam. Rewrite this as Altaria handles the physical sets and have to watch out for Ice Beam from special sets.

Ferrothorn Ferroseed is able to absorb both Water type attacks and Ice Beam, but has to be weary of Superpower on physical sets.

**Faster Attackers**: Faster opponents like Cinccino and Manectric are able to revenge kill Basculin. In spite of this, they do have to watch out for a potential Choice Scarf Basculin or Aqua Jet.

**Priority Users**: With Basculin being as frail as it is, priority users such as Thwackey and Kangaskhan easily dispose Basculin after safely switching in.

**Special Walls**: Special walls like Clefairy and Miltank can certainly handle Choice Specs Basculin well, but this is not true when it comes to Choice Band Basculin. Miltank is even frailer than Audino, that's the second time you write about a special wall that doesn't answer well Basculin.

**Altaria**: Altaria can endure physical attacks, most special attacks, and can switch out to heal away Toxic. With that being said, it has to watch out for Ice Beam from special sets.

As a result of deadly Adaptability boosted STAB moves, great Speed tier, and unpredictability between special and physical sets, Basculin established as a premier special wallbreaker despite its frailty (would contradict your following point). However, it’s incredibly frail, so it has to be cautious of Pokemon that checks it revenge killers like Kangaskhan and Gourgeist-S (more specific). Flip Turn allows Basculin to chip switch-ins and checks like Audino and Wishiwashi, (no comma) while keeping the momentum. This works very well in tandem with entry hazard support from the likes of Ferrothorn and Garbodor (this is a teammate detail, and those belong in the second paragraph. Move it there to be after the "while Basculin also helps such cores with its pivoting" sentence). Ice Beam is used as terrific coverage, as it (fluff) deals with some Water resistant foes like Tangela and Altaria. Lastly, Toxic is used to cripple Water resistant or immune threats foes (brevity; if you say "sponge hits" later then u dont need to also say resistant / immune threats as they imply the same intent) that can sponge Basculin’s hits, like Jellicent and Wishiwashi.

Basculin typically fits on offensive and balance teams, (no comma) looking for an immediate special wallbreaker with a solid Speed tier. Choice Specs Basculin provides great support for physical wallbreakers like Kangaskhan and Sawk, (no comma) that have trouble with physical walls. In return, they can deal with special walls that Basculin struggles to break through. Defensive pivots such as Uxie and Articuno can take hits for Basculin and bring it safely on the field with U-turn, while Basculin also helps such cores with its pivoting. With Grass-type (hyphen) Pokemon being a big check to Basculin, checks to them like (brevity) Ninetales and Frosmoth provide super effective (spacing) coverage against these Pokemon. Water-types (hypen) also absorb Basculin’s attacks, so threats like Thwackey and Rotom provide coverage that take care of that.

Choice Band Basculin takes advantage of its respectable Attack stat in tandem with its Speed tier and access to Adaptability, and it helps tear through Pokemon that normally absorb its Choice Specs attacks like Audino and Articuno. Flip Turn gives it the ability to chip its checks such as Altaria, Ferroseed, and Tangela while keeping the momentum going. Aqua Jet helps it revenge kill weakened, (comma) faster opponents such as Cinccino and Ninetales. Superpower allows Basculin to break through Ferroseed, that can sponge the rest of its attacks well. Lastly, Psychic Fangs can also be used to provide coverage against Qwilfish and Poliwrath, who can similarly handle the rest of Basculin’s attacks well.

Basculin pairs well with special attackers such as Alcremie, Frosmoth, Ninetales, and Rotom, because not only can Basculin take down the special walls that its teammates can struggle with, but it can also lure in physical walls and use Flip Turn to bring in a powerful special attacker. Defensive pivots including Uxie, Alolan Persian, and Articuno let Basculin safely enter the field and can take hits for Basculin. Offensive pivots, such as Silvally-Ground and Cinccino, similarly allow Basculin to safely enter the field by knocking out or threatening opponents. Basculin also fits nicely with Pokemon that can take out Basculin’s checks, such as how Rotom, Thwackey, and Manectric pose a threat versus Water-types. Frosmoth, Rapidash, and Ninetales take care of Grass-types, with Frosmoth notably checking Altaria, one of the biggest threats to Basculin.

Choice Scarf Basculin is a great choice for teams who want a very hard hitting scarfer revenge killer that can pivot. On special variants, it’s reasonable if one prefers the consistent accuracy of Surf, but the extra damage from Hydro Pump is more favorable. If one does not want to be restricted by a Choice item, then Mystic Water can fake being locked, in order to bait the opponent on bringing a Pokémon that can be picked off by Aqua Jet or Ice Beam. This includes Pokemon like Ninetales coming to revenge kill Basculin, or Altaria to sponge Hydro Pump. However, the extra power or speed that comes with Choice items tends to outweigh the risks. Although a physical Choice Scarf set seems reasonable, Hydro Pump‘s power makes special Choice Scarf sets better. On top of this, physical Basculin sets already have Aqua Jet. QC 2/2! Good work hiss. After you implement this put it in the GP queue. Also don't forget the hyphens in "Water-type," "Grass-type," and so on, as I found a few of those missing. I filled in the ones I found but go ahead and do a readover after implementation just to double check if you don't mind.

Lastly, entry hazard removers like Altaria and Rotom-Fan Rotom-S can get rid of the clear entry hazards that can wear down Basculin after lots of pivoting as it pivots.

On special variants, it's reasonable if one prefers the consistent accuracy of Surf, but the extra damage from Hydro Pump is more favorable. If one does not want to be restricted by a Choice item, then Mystic Water can fake being locked in order to bait the opponent on bringing a Pokémon that can be picked off by Aqua Jet or Ice Beam. This includes Pokemon like Ninetales coming to revenge kill Basculin, or Altaria to sponge Hydro Pump. However, the extra power or speed that comes with Choice items, tends to outweigh the risks. Although a physical Choice Scarf set seems reasonable, Hydro Pump‘s power makes special Choice Scarf sets better.

**Water-types**: Water-types Pokemon like Wishiwashi, Jellicent, and Poliwrath,(RC) can easily handle Basculin's(changed apostrophe) STAB moves. However, they must be careful of getting afflicted by wary of Toxic. Qwilfish also does a great job at tanking Basculin's physical attacks, but it is fragile against cannot deal with Choice Specs sets.

**Grass-types**: Grass-types Pokemon such as Tangela, Appletun, and Eldegoss can also switch into Basculin's Water type attacks, but they must be careful to not switch into an of Ice Beam. Ferroseed is able to absorbs both Water-(AH)type attacks and Ice Beam,(RC) but has to be weary wary of Superpower on physical sets.

**Faster Attackers**: Faster opponents foes like Cinccino and Manectric are able to revenge kill Basculin.(remove period) In spite of this, but they do have to watch out for a potential Choice Scarf Basculin or Aqua Jet.

**Special Walls**: Special walls like Audino and Articuno can PP stall Hydro Pump, but get 2HKO’d by it they are 2HKOed by it. Clefairy can handles Choice Specs sets Basculin well, but all of these Pokemon have to watch out for Choice Band sets Basculin.

[SET COMMENTS]
As a result of deadly Adaptability-(AH)boosted STAB moves, great Speed tier, and unpredictability between special and physical sets, Basculin is established as a premier special wallbreaker. However, it's incredibly frail, so it has to be cautious of revenge killers like Kangaskhan, Cinccino, and Gourgeist-S. Flip Turn allows Basculin to chip switch-ins and checks like Audino and Wishiwashi while keeping momentum. Ice Beam deals with some Water-(AH)resistant foes like Tangela and Altaria. Lastly,(RC) Toxic is used to cripples foes that can sponge Basculin's hits,(RC) like Jellicent and Wishiwashi.

Basculin typically fits on offensive and balance teams looking for an immediate special wallbreaker with a solid Speed tier. Choice Specs Basculin provides great support for physical wallbreakers like Kangaskhan and Sawk that have trouble with physical walls. In return, they can deal with special walls like Wishiwashi and Audino,(AC) that which Basculin struggles to break through. Defensive pivots such as Uxie and Articuno can take hits for Basculin and bring it safely on the field with U-turn, while Basculin also helps such cores them with its pivoting. This works very well in tandem with entry hazard support from the likes of Ferrothorn and Garbodor, as it allows Basculin to OHKO targets like Cofagrigus and Gurdurr due to the added hazard damage. With Grass-type Pokemon being a big check to Basculin, Ninetales and Frosmoth provide super effective coverage against these Pokemon. Water-types also absorb Basculin's attacks, so threats like Thwackey and Rotom provide coverage that take care of that. Partners like Ninetales and Frosmoth cover Grass-types, while teammates like Thwackey and Rotom handle Water-types. (Some examples would be nice)

Choice Band Basculin takes advantage of its respectable Speed tier and access to Adaptability,(RC) and it helps to tear through Pokemon that normally absorb its Choice Specs special attacks,(AC) like Audino and Articuno. Flip Turn gives it the ability to chips its checks such as Altaria, Ferroseed, and Tangela while keeping the momentum going. Aqua Jet helps it Basculin revenge kill weakened, faster opponents foes such as Cinccino and Ninetales. Superpower allows Basculin to break through Ferroseed, that which can sponge the rest of its attacks well. Lastly Alternatively, Psychic Fangs can also be used to provide coverage against Qwilfish and Poliwrath, who which can similarly handle the rest of Basculin's(changed apostrophe) attacks well.

Basculin pairs well with special attackers such as Alcremie, Frosmoth, Ninetales, and Rotom, because not only can Basculin as it can take down the special walls(examples?) that its teammates can struggle with,(RC) but it can and also lure in physical walls and use Flip Turn. Defensive pivots including like Uxie, Alolan Persian, and Articuno let Basculin safely enter the field and can take hits for Basculin it. Offensive pivots,(RC) such as Silvally-Ground,(AC) and Cinccino,(RC) similarly allow Basculin to safely enter the field by knocking out or threatening opponents threatening or KOing foes. Basculin also fits nicely with Pokemon that can take out Basculin's checks, such as how Rotom, Thwackey, and Manectric pose a threat versus Water types. Basculin pairs nicely with Pokemon that can threaten Water-types such as Rotom, Thwackey, and Manectric. Frosmoth, Rapidash, and Ninetales take care of Grass-types, with Frosmoth notably also checking one of the biggest threats to Basculin in Altaria,(RC) one of the biggest threats to Basculin.

Choice Scarf Basculin is a great choice for teams who that want a very hard hitting revenge killer that can and pivot. Flip Turn chips switch-ins to it such as Ferroseed and Clefairy while providing momentum. Ice Beam is great coverage against Pokemon like Altaria and Tangela, that which can normally switch into its Water-(AH)type attacks. When none of its attacks can do notable damage, like against Jellicent and Wishiwashi, it can cripple these defensive checks with Toxic. Toxic cripples checks like Jellicent and Wishiwashi. Choice Scarf Basculin will is usually be found on offense and balance teams looking for a revenge killer. VoltTurn cores love having Basculin on their team, as Basculin it enables these cores with Flip Turn pivoting while bulkier pivots like Alolan Persian and Uxie can help Basculin switch in easily. This includes Pokemon like Alolan Persian and Uxie, that can take hits well for Basculin and that help it entering the field without risking getting hit.
