Crushed by God (Warstory)

This is a close battle on Shoddy that I had the other day, and I hope you enjoy it. After the first occurence, I will take out the end-of turn effects like leftovers and sandstorm. The pokemon are put in the order of appearance.

Dr. DRE sent out Electivire (lvl 100 Electivire ?).
laicw39 sent out Hippowdon (lvl 100 Hippowdon ?).
Hippowdon's Sand Stream whipped up a sandstorm!
A sandstorm brewed!
Dr. DRE switched in Togekiss (lvl 100 Togekiss ?).
Hippowdon used Stealth Rock.
Pointed stones float in the air around your foe's team!
The sandstorm rages.
Togekiss is buffetted by the sandstorm!
Togekiss lost 6% of its health.
Togekiss's leftovers restored its health a little!
Togekiss restored 6% of its health.

Great, a Hippowodon lead. I knew my Electivire couldn't withstand an earthquake that probably would have come- seeing as i need him later, I switched in Togekiss to absorb the earthquake and hopefully start some flinch-hax with air slash.
---
Togekiss used Air Slash.
Hippowdon lost 30% of its health.
Hippowdon used Stone Edge.
It's super effective!
Togekiss lost 45% of its health.

Not as much damage as I hoped, but thankfully stone edge didn't do very much due to my excessive defense ev's.
---
Togekiss used Air Slash.
Hippowdon lost 35% of its health.
Hippowdon flinched!

I just need another flinch or a critical hit to KO Hippowodon. I really need to KO Hippowodon because without Togekiss I have no real way to defeat Hippowodon.
---
Togekiss used Air Slash.
A critical hit!
Hippowdon lost 48% of its health.
laicw39's Hippowdon fainted.

Score: 6-5 (me)

laicw39 switched in Aerodactyl (lvl 100 Aerodactyl ?).

Dr. DRE switched in Heatran (lvl 100 Heatran ?).
Pointed stones dug into Heatran.
Heatran lost 12% of its health.
Aerodactyl used Thunder Fang.
Heatran lost 22% of its health.

That did more damage than I hoped. I guessed that he was running CB Aerodactyl, so I expect a switch out now. I had a feeling that he has a Bronzong waiting so I opted out of using Earth Power.
---
laicw39 switched in Swampert (lvl 100 Swampert ?).
Heatran used Overheat.
Heatran's attack missed!

Dang. That was unfortunate, but not gamebreaking. This isn't the last fo the hax, though.

---
Dr. DRE switched in Togekiss (lvl 100 Togekiss ?).
Pointed stones dug into Togekiss.
Togekiss lost 25% of its health.
Swampert used Earthquake.
It doesn't affect Togekiss...

I'm surprised he didn't see that coming. At this point I'm glad that I have 3 earthquake immunities.
---

Swampert used Avalanche.
It's super effective!
Togekiss lost 26% of its health.
The sandstorm rages.

Roserade used Leaf Storm.
Roserade's attack missed!
The wish came true!

No, not another miss. At least it was on a switch so that Roserade didn't get knocked out by Earthquake.
---
Dr. DRE switched in Cresselia (lvl 100 Cresselia ?).
Pointed stones dug into Cresselia.
Cresselia lost 12% of its health.
Garchomp used Fire Fang.

---
Garchomp used Swords Dance.
Garchomp's attack was sharply raised.
Cresselia used Ice Beam.
It's super effective!
Garchomp lost 83% of its health.

Why did he stay in? Scouting with a Garchomp to see if I have ice beam is a pretty dumb idea. Unless if he was going to try to KO me with outrage... I think i'll take my chances. Cresselia isn't afraid of a draco meteor either, so I think it's safe to stay in.
---
laicw39 switched in Empoleon (lvl 100 Empoleon ?).
Cresselia used Ice Beam.
It's not very effective...
Empoleon lost 3% of its health.

Well, at least I know one of his other pokemon. It's safe to say that he will try to use surf, so I'll try Roserade again.
---
Dr. DRE switched in Roserade (lvl 100 Roserade ?).
Pointed stones dug into Roserade.
Roserade lost 12% of its health.
Empoleon used Toxic.

I certainly didn't expect that, but thankfully Roserade is part poison. I didn't want my cleric to be crippled. Time to lay down some toxic spikes.
---
laicw39 switched in Skarmory (lvl 100 Skarmory ?).
Roserade used Toxic Spikes.
Spikes were scattered everywhere!
Toxic Spikes were scattered around the foe's team!

Swampert used Avalanche.
Cresselia lost 11% of its health.

Swampert used Earthquake.
Swampert's attack missed!
Swampert is hurt by poison!
Swampert lost 12% of its health.

Is he on crack? Who in their right mind would try to earthquake Cresselia? Perhaps he predicted me to switch to Roserade? I don't know, but I'll have to watch out.

laicw39's Swampert fainted.

He knew he was finished, so I just Calm Minded. I was just lucky that he didn't try to phaze me. Funny thing is, my CM Cresselia sometimes ends up sweeping teams.

There goes Sand Veil hax. Luckily he'll die next turn from poison anyway, so I can just heal at least some hp with Moonlight.

This time I anticipated the Toxic, and my risk paid off.

Skarmory lost 100% of its health.
laicw39's Skarmory fainted.

The sandstorm rages.

At this point, I feel pretty confident that I will win this battle. Now only his Aerodactyl and Empoleon are left. At this point though, Heatran is at a low hp, so I'll sacrifice him to get a free switch-in.

WHAT? HOW COULD I HAVE MISSED THAT?? That was an unexpected turn. I'll send in Gliscor to force a switch and use that turn to set up.

Gliscor lost 12% of its health.
laicw39 switched in Empoleon (lvl 100 Empoleon ?).
Gliscor used Swords Dance.
Gliscor's attack was sharply raised.

After an SD under it's belt, Gliscor won't have any trouble with defeating Empoleon, even if it has max defense and hp. I have nothing to worry about, unless he's packing quick claw, which I seriously doubt.
---
Gliscor used Earthquake.
It's super effective!
Empoleon lost 97% of its health.
laicw39's Empoleon fainted.

Yes! Now only his Aerodactyl is left! Unless he has Ice Fang, Gliscor should overpower Aerodactyl with Aerial Ace.

I was wrong again. At this point, Gliscor is pretty much dead, but at least he's locked into Ice Fang. Victory is only a few turns away!

It's super effective!
Gliscor lost 34% of its health.

Cresselia was frozen solid!
Cresselia is frozen solid!

DAMN IT!!! WHY DO I HAVE TO GET FROZEN ON THE TURN I'M GOING TO WIN?? CURSE YOU ARCEUS! This is not good. My only chance is if Ice Fang misses once on Roserade and I can use Leaf Storm- unless, Ice Fang doesn't have enough power to defeat Roserade.

Props:
-Me, for outpredicting my opponent most of the time
-Cresselia, for taking hits like a god
-Roserade, for being able to set up toxic spikes
-laicw39, for a close, albeit hax filled battle.

Slops:
-God, er, Arceus haxed me, especially late in the battle
-Me, for not realizing that Aerodactyl was choice scarf
-Electrivire did absolutely NOTHING for me.

Thanks for reading-- this was my first warstory, so please, if you have any suggestions, tell me.

Then why did you post?

I liked this warstory, your opponent had a few misplays and he basically pulled this win out of his ass, but it was a decent battle. GG.

Oh, and I'm sure nobody would have anticipated Scarf Aerodactyl, but the smarter thing would have been switching to Gliscor, since it didn't take Life Orb recoil. You probably could have won, with Electivire not dying to Scarf Ice Fang, but hindsight is 20/20, and I probably would have done the same thing as you.

I seriously expected an uber battle :(

Somehow I expected you saying something like that. That's why I didn't name it "Crushed by Arceus" (it would imply that I was battling ubers and I got swept). The title was meant to imply that my defeat was fateful (relating to the freeze and critical hit at the end). Not that it shouldn't have happened, just that it was unlikely.

I know how you feel... I lost to a Weavile that froze my last two pokes twice in a row, and critical hit me two times after that.

Rrrgh... freeze is actually kind of funny when it happens at the WORST moment possible.

Uh do you even know what you're thinking ? You were worried about a Bronzong switching into a Heatran ? You also thought he EQ'd Cressy because he thought you were going to Roserade when he's been AVALANCHING ?

P.S. This could have all been prevented if you just went with Gliscor into Aero instead of Electivire.

Let me clarify. Normally, I would have used HP Ice on Aerodactyl, but if he switched to a Bronzong, then I would have to switch to Roserade to absorb the coming hypnosis and it would leave me in a bad position. Alternatively, Bronzong could use Earthquake and my Roserade would be dead. I decided to take a safe route and Overheat, even though he was likely to send out a bulky water.

He knew I had a Roserade with Leaf Storm when my Cresselia was facing Swampert. Since I have a tendency to be more reckless than safe (as shown by switching Heatran into Aerodactyl), I thought he might have predicted a switch to Roserade. The difference is that Avalanche would have left Roserade alive, while Earthquake would leave me with one less pokemon. It didn't seem good at the time to judge my opponent as being dumber than a brick.

Oh yes, because of my low tolerance level while battling (my weakness, as I can't stand blissey stall-wars), I thought Electivire was faster than Aerodactyl because of me thinking it was CBed. Aerodactyl would have stayed in too, thinking it was faster than me. I just made an error in judgement, and it went downhill from there.

This reminds me of what normally happens in one of MY battles! Getting a cheap loss because of something incredibly stupid.

I say you should have won that battle. GG anyway.
