SS OU Peaked 1300 - Absol Team, need help!

Thai-iaht

Top Heavy Drafter
Hi :)
Hello, I have a team built along essentially setting absol up to be able to sweep the opposing team. I started out with a sticky web set but it wasnt quite working, and this is what I settled on. I'm rather stuck at around the 1300 level and need help moving forward.

Absol @ Scope Lens
Ability: Super Luck
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Sucker Punch
- Close Combat
- Play Rough
- Night Slash
This is the pokemon I built the team around. Absol is built as a crit set, with Night slash being its main attacking move, as it has a perfect critical hit ratio. I use absol once the team has been weakened or the main threats to him have been taken out or paralyzed by porygon2. He is built to hit very hard, with just enough speed to outspeed most heatrans.

Landorus-Therian @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Stone Edge
- Knock Off
Lando-T @ choice scarf was chosen because I was looking to have a very quick mon to work with the rather slow absol, so I am able to check mons that are faster than absol. Stone edge is included for coverage against volcarona who threatens my other sweepers, as well as some mons who are immune to eq. Max speed and jolly to outspeed unscarfed dragapult with knockoff.

Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 136 SpD / 120 Spe
Calm Nature
- Earth Power
- Magma Storm
- Taunt
- Stealth Rock
Heatran is my defensive mon that is used to set rocks and bait the opponent into letting me switch into Lando-t. Additionally, this mon provides good coverage against the steel birds and ferrothorn, which absol cannot 1 hit without a critical hit. He has enough speed to out speed slower rock setters with taunt, and enough spd to live a scald from most support water mons in the meta.
Porygon2 @ Eviolite
Ability: Trace
EVs: 252 HP / 156 Def / 100 SpD
Bold Nature
- Ice Beam
- Recover
- Thunder Wave
- Charge Beam
Porygon is my counter to the metal birds, rain teams, and in general many of the dragon threats in the metagame. With 156 Def and 100spd, he has more def and spdef than ferrothorn, and is just extremely good at switching into pokemon like drag as shadow ball is no threat, and recover can keep the mon healthy. The thunder wave and charge beam combo is useful for setting up against pokemon with substitute sets like kyurem or tapu fini. The electric coverage was heavily needed on the team, as well as the ice coverage as many of my mons were struggling to get kills on dragon sweepers like drag or garchomp.

Mew @ Leftovers
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Defog
- Gunk Shot
- Power Whip
- Heal Bell
Mew is my cleric for the team, as well as a check for swampert and tapu fini. Gunk shot is on the mon for last ditch scenarios against rillaboom, where mew can survive one grassy glide and get off a gunk shot. Defog was needed to get rid of stealth rocks as its not on lando T. Mew is also a switch in for mons like urshifu or conkeldurr.

Tapu Fini @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Misty Surge
EVs: 252 HP / 200 Def / 56 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Dazzling Gleam
- Scald
- Nature's Madness
- Taunt
Tapu Fini granted some much needed water coverage on the team, with another taunt set useful against some of the common tanks and setup mons in the meta like kyurem. Tapu was my last addition to the team, and I felt like I was losing to a lot of dragon sweepers if porygon lost its eviolite, so I included Tapu to counter a lot of those threats.

Tapu used to be an araquanid, who would use sticky web to help absol get easier sweeps, but I was rarely able to get the web off. It seemed to be useful for absol though, I’m just not sure it fits in this meta.
Any Help is Appreciated :)

Hi, welcome to Smogon! I am locking your RMT for the time being as the forum rules require that you provide at least three lines of descriptions for each Pokemon to explain their roles. Please read the rules carefully and look at Team Showcase to see the detail we require. PM me with updated descriptions, and I will be happy to unlock this.

Why did you choose this mon
What do the EV spreads do and why do you have it
What are all 4 moves for

If you wanted too you could have switched Araqaunid with Galvantula.

Galvantula is Is better as a Sticky Web Setter For Being Faster and can do damage with Thunder + Compound Eyes.
Here's a set you could use for it.

Galvantula @ Focus Sash
Ability: Compound Eyes
