Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl - Release 19th Nov 2021

Probopass actually has Body Press through Home!! Based on the datamine back then at least
Yeah this is definitely the first we've seen of it getting it by level-up at least! Which is neat

And yeah god stone evos from SwSh are doing just fine. Any fresh stone evos get a real short stick.

Honestly, come to think of it. While not being able to transfer Pokemon games does suck, it also means that every Pokemon in this game will be capturable within the two games. This might be one of the most complete individual games out there since the original RBY.

Since this game was made in Unity that means modders can do quite a bit with it. This could very well be the holy grail of Rom hacks. Imagine your Pokémon dream game. Now it's possible.

So in a year when someone releases Ultra Brilliant Diamond and Mega Shining Pearl with 900 pokemon, battle frontier, no xp share etc we can all hold hands and collectively cum over the game we should have had the first time around.

I'm not even joking, I'm legit excited over the potential rom hacks we can get out of this. The ceiling is sky high here.

As long as the rom hack developer doesn't bust a nut too soon before the project finishes and gets nintendo'd before the final build is in public hands.

Still kinda sad about the metroid prime 2D project where the dev got a little ambitious, showed off the download early before completion, and nintendo went after him to discontinue it. Happened to a pokemon fangame too but I think at least they got that out finished.

But ya, cant wait for the endless mod potential even if its sound and model swapping. Having a full definitive game thats unofficial would make TPC shit themselves especially if we could get multiplayer working. Unless they super mario royale us.

I'm pretty sure there's been plenty of full fangames/rom hacks that have working multiplayer by this point. It's nothing new.

Not to mention that porting BDSP to the PC might be possible depending on how decompilable Unity is.

Something about this feels like being excited because of a way they screwed up...

With how much negativity there is, (including mine) it's nice to see someone that hates this game so much see something that makes them not completely hate it.

I just wish we could get one default design with long skirts or big shorts or funny pants. Young girl's clothes are so funny and wild and we get nothing out of it :pikuh:

Had the female playable character ever had a risque outfit?
Hilda (Black & White 1 girl) has shorts shorter than her own pockets...
TBH about half of them have short skirts or short shorts that are pretty damned short. Solana from ranger is basically in a leotard and jacket, she looks like a late 80s x-men cosplayer.

But at least they aren't the original Electric Tale of Pikachu outfits. Where under-12-year-old Misty has e-cups with full cleavage and shorts that don't even cover her arse.

I mean...
Some of them get leggings, which is good, but plenty of the outfits are a top, a skirt that covers just enough to stay legal, and shoes. Customization outfits don't matter, since you only see the ones you want unless you play multiplayer, and why would you ever willingly interact with other people?

Personally, I'm waiting until we see the outfits closer, but their taste in clothes has always been pretty bad, so I'm doubtful it'll be great. Who told these people that what Pokemon needs is FEWER customization options? Make everything available for every character, give us a color picker, and maybe make some shoes that aren't ugly as sin. And then don't lock it all to the endgame, and it'd be reasonable. Instead, it seems like they regressed.

Dawn's outfits make no sense

Sinnoh is fucking cold. Lucas realized this and put on a long sleeved shirt and pants, yet both of Dawn's outfits have the small skirt/dress? Really?

You can't seriously tell me there isn't some sort of reason most of the female protagonists wear skirts or tiny shorts. It's so weird...look at the difference between the male protags and the female protags.

I forgot that Dawn wore that minicoat in platinum... While the others are wrapped up warmer for the dangerously cold temperatures. She's gonna get nerve damage between her knee and crotch. Couldn't she at least wear wool tights or something?

Although it was kind of Rowan to donate his moustache for the kids to use as a scarf.

I can sort of see it as just sporty girls adventuring in clothes they can run in most of the time. Especially for Selene in Alola or May as a field researcher in Hoenn. The look fits the setting and character. But when its revealing and impractical, it feels like underage fanservice.

I'm sure there are sporty clothes you can wear that aren't suspiciously revealing, especially for literal children.

I mean if it was just characters like Bea and Nessa that wore these outfits, fine. They're adults, people like fanservice, I get it. But when the minors wear outfits that are pretty similar, that's when I raise my eyebrow and play the Vine Boom sound effect.

Rosa and Serena both have on tights, which is a reasonable move. It's all the others that are the issue. And honestly, it's the pattern that bugs me. There's girls in the 10-14 range who wear very short skirts, and that's their choice(and lots of the shorts for girls are short). But it's not all of them. And when it's mostly old men who make the decisions about what characters are going to wear, and EVERY female lead is dressed the exact same, it starts to feel like we're an unwilling part of some exec's fantasy.

I think Kilian Experience had a pretty good justification for Dawn's clothes. Ready for every weather. Beaches and volcanoes also exist in Sinnoh.
