I would kill a hundred men for hisuian voltorb and I am not joking

So i feel like the plot for this game will revolve around those clans, either that we're an unnaffiliated 3rd party trying to stop both or make them both come together, or we'll choose one to join. Most likely the former I think

So my theory about 2 factions with each Warden being part of one seems to be true. Waiting for translations.

Wondering if these bosses are more akin of Kahunas/Elite Four or Champions.
From the website
The Hisui region isn’t just home to the Galaxy Team, which you’ll join. Two other groups also live here: the Diamond Clan and the Pearl Clan.

Both clans don clothing designed to resemble certain Pokémon, and both pay respects to special Pokémon they call lords and ladies—or collectively, noble Pokémon.
And both the Diamond Clan and the Pearl Clan have wardens who serve these special Pokémon. For example, the warden Arezu—who serves a certain lady Pokémon—is a member of the Diamond Clan. But Warden Lian—the warden serving Kleavor, the lord presiding over the Obsidian Fieldlands—is a member of the Pearl Clan.
Adaman
Adaman serves as the leader of the Diamond Clan and has Leafeon as his partner Pokémon.
This daring young man hates seeing time go to waste and likes to rush forward without worrying too much about particulars. This way of thinking puts him at odds with Irida, who leads the Pearl Clan, so the two are frequently seen fighting.
Irida
Irida serves as the leader of the Pearl Clan, and her partner Pokémon is Glaceon.
As a leader, she feels it is important to have the courage to face the vast Hisui region without quailing before it. Though she is suspicious of you when you first meet, she will come to trust you thanks to the help you provide in quelling the noble Pokémon.
Ginter
Ginter is the head of the Ginkgo Guild. He might not look all that enthusiastic, but it’s his strong leadership that keeps the guild together. He’ll sell you rare items and special finds that he gets from various places.
Volo
Volo, one of the Ginkgo Guild’s merchants, is often to be found wandering the Hisui region. He has a tendency to cross paths with you no matter where you travel. He’s got a boundless sense of curiosity and is always interested in unusual finds and unusual people.

Ginter seems to be Volkner's ancestor and Volo would likely be Cynthia's.

Adaman & Irida seem to be original, though Irida's color scheme reminds me a lot of May

...Well there goes my theory that Cynthia's ancestor would be the villain of the game... :psygrump:

Adaman and Irida looking kinda sussy tho... I've wanted another game with two proper evil teams for the longest time, so if that is the case I'll be satisfied

Oh wow, so you can get all three of Darkrai, Shaymin and Arceus in the one game?? That's kinda cool! I'll have to borrow a friend's BDSP for a second to get this though lol. Just glad I'll be able to get Shaymin right away, that's the one I'm really after

Oh, nice, another news drop that lasts longer than 40 seconds and tells us a little bit more about the game.

I hope we get a steadier stream of these weeklyish trailers in the ramp up to the game, because I do not find this style of reveal cycle to be particularly hype generating. I much preferred sun and moon's reveal cycle. Obviously PLA's cycle can't do the same in terms of Pokemon reveals because there's only going to be a handful of new forms, but they could at least show more gameplay like in this trailer. I know everybody complains that sun and moon revealed too much, but personally I feel like swsh & pla's reveal cycles course-corrected too hard in the other direction.

Also, a pelasant surprise, but BDSP savefile bonus will let you do a Darkrai quest

Not...really sure why they didn't reveal this alongside shaymin???

:/ I kind of hope this quest isn't cool, because I still have no plans to buy bdsp. Do video game rental stores still exist? Maybe I can just rent the game somewhere to get the save data. :P

You could always just buy it, play it for two seconds and then return it with the receipt right?

If you look closely at the berry buying segment of the trailer - the item description mentions Aux Powers. Do we know what this is?
My guess is something like O-Powers

They better do something with Darkray beyond giving it to you in a lazy sidequest, like an origin story for it and Cresselia, like the first victim.

Adaman and Irida can be seen wearing the Adamant Orb and Lustrous Orb, respectively.

Additionally, their names are likely derived from “adamant”* and “iridescent” (loose synonym of “lustrous”).

*Adamant is likely used for the orb name due to its similarity to “adamantine” (unbreakable), which is a pun on how 金剛 (kongou, the Japanese word for “diamond”) can also be used to mean adamantine and the fact that the Adamant Orb is called こんごうだま (Kongoudama, Diamond Orb) in Japanese. Nvm I’m dumb see Mad Ram’s reply

As for their Japanese names, my best guess is that セキ (Seki, Adaman) is derived from 宝石 (ほうせき, houseki), meaning gem/jewel/precious stone, and that カイ (Kai, Irida) is derived from 石灰岩 (せっかいがい, sekkaigai), meaning lime limestone—perhaps in reference to cave pearls, which form in limestone caves. I’m much more certain about Seki than Kai, but my Japanese isn’t good enough to figure out any other potential origins—this is the closest to a pearl reference I could find.

This is some interesting info. So Sinnohwas the name of an entitiy (Or entities?) and the region was named after that. From the way Iririda and Adaman speak, Sinnoh is some sort of deity. What I'm curious about iswhether Sinnoh is meant to be Arceus or the respective legendary dragons of each clan, or the creation trio as a whole.

My crackpot prediction: Sinnoh is the Dialga/Palkia fusion that can be seen in that one Eterna City statue.

Realistically thought it's probably just an old name for Arceus
