Welcome to the fifth iteration of TLT (Tours' Leaderboard Tournament)! Throughout this tournament, players will battle in a best-of-three/best-of-five (from the 6th round on) format each round, with Smogon's standard tiers being the metagames played. This tournament is also double elimination, so if you're defeated once, you're still in the loser's portion of the bracket.

The tiers that will be played are:
SS Ubers
SS OU
SS UU
SS RU
SS NU
SS PU
SS LC
SS DOU
SS Monotype

In order to fairly determine the three of these nine tiers played in each individual matchup, players will take turns locking and eliminating tiers among themselves. They'll both lock one tier, followed by eliminating three tiers, thus leaving three tiers to be played. The lower seeded player will lock the first tier, followed by the higher seed player. Then the lower seeded player will eliminate the first tier, followed by the higher seed player, and it will repeat in that order two more times. The higher seed player picks what tier is played first of the three tiers. After that, the loser of game one picks which of the two tiers is played for game two. Naturally, game three will be played in the last remaining tier.

(Example: Ax is seed #1, while Nol is seed #16. Nol, the lower seed, decides to lock PU, followed by Ax locking RU. At this point, neither PU nor RU can be eliminated. Nol, the lower seed, chooses to first eliminate Ubers. Ax follows with OU. Nol then eliminates LC, and Ax eliminates Doubles OU. Nol then eliminates NU, and Ax eliminates Monotype. So thus the three tiers that would be played are PU (what Nol locked in), RU (what Ax locked in) and UU (the tier that didn't get banned). Of these tiers remaining, Ax, the higher seed, chooses to play RU first. Ax then loses game one, and chooses to play UU next. Should it go to game three, the tier to be played will be PU.)

Basic tournament rules - read these, especially if you're new to forum tours
Sportsmanship: Don't be an ass. Not to your opponents, not on PS, not on Smogon, not to me. A bit of friendly banter is ok, but please know where to draw the line. Think before you type, please.

Scheduling and Activity Wins: Contact your opponent as quickly as possible on their Smogon wall, and look out for them on PS. You will have one week from the posting of the week's matches to get it done. Extensions will be for two days after the scheduled deadline, and no further. If your opponent is not responding to your post on their wall, cannot be found on PS, or miss multiple scheduled times, make a detailed activity post in the thread letting me know why you deserve the win. No activity post means no activity call. As long as you have visible attempts at scheduling (such as wall posts), you will be fine.

Disconnections and Timer: A timer loss is a loss. No if's, and's, or but's about it. If your opponent is nice enough to replay that's fine, but they are by no means obligated to.

Ghosting and Identity: Don't take or give battle advice or make moves based solely on the suggestions of others, and don't pretend to be someone else in order to play as them. You will be caught, and you will be disqualified from this tournament as well as future PS! tournaments (BLT, PSPL, etc.).

Substitutions: Substitutions will be made only for rounds one & two, with round two subs only being allowed for any participants in the loser's bracket.

before anyone starts their matches :p i will make my predicts EPISODE 2 OF PIKA SUP MAKING BAD PREDICTS
Round Four Matchups
Winners Bracket

Stareal vs daniYSB
Dani is an incredibly consistent and well rounded player but Stareal has won both Tundra cup and charity bowl and is more achieved player overall.

Crunchman vs crying
BRUH
dont know who crying is but since i cry myself to sleep i would be rooting for Crunchman for this one (no offense to crying) (and also because Crunchman has got DOU in his crafty bag)

RichardPepper vs Trade
Even though RichardPepper has been pulling off huge upsets, i doubt he could pull off this one. Trade is known to reign terror on tours room.

Blimax vs skimmythegod
Blimax is the older and more experienced player. Skimmy has a good name. Think Blimax got this.

Losers Bracket

Meminger21 vs halaman95
I really dont know but halaman upset bye last week very impressive so i think he got this.

Elfuseon vs FrostPixel
Incredibly spicy matchup frost has been playing big brain recently and is getting his teams from darth vader himself so has to be FrostPixel. (yes rooting for the underdog)

udongirl vs Lukasjoel1
ROOTING FOR UDONGIRL 100%. Udon girl has been very involved in the community of many tiers while Lukas (i dont know)
wesh papillon vs PokemonCestDur
Rooting for wesh again because wesh is the GOAT he has the best LC teams (hope they play LC)while PokemonCestDur has a banger name.

Conclusion: i dont know a lot about these players since i am also a new player but i tried my best :/

Winners Bracket

Stareal vs daniYSB : DONT YOU DARE try to go into Star's business. Now you best go get your Trubbish Dani and get it gone, before you get hitmonchaned in the face again. Star in two.

Crunchman vs crying: Crying tries too hard. So does crunch. IDT Tch Thieves is emo enough to win a try hard battle against a guy literally named crying.

RichardPepper vs Trade : Richard has never lost a match in his life. Like I get that Trade is a Psyducking genius who has been doing this forever but like say you have that one dude from your class. You know the guy who gets all the perfect grades and sports and stuff. Goes off into the world. You bump into him years latter and he is working at like SeaWorld (don't work at SeaWorld that stuff is just cruel) feeding baby dolphins. You are like "Bob Mrmicktryhard (That's the hypothetical name for this situation. idk know anyone with that name irl) I thought you would be like doing some other Trubbish." Then he is like "Well, I think I am serving a youthful Porpoise." Then a satellite crashes and gives you superspeed.
The moral of the story that ties into this mu is that Richard is gonna win.

Blimax vs skimmythegod : Bro this guy once psyducking predicted like at least five 50/50's in a row against me before in a room tour. He is insane. I am scarred for life. Yeah Blimax is good but not like scare the Golduck out of me good.

Losers Bracket

Meminger21 vs halaman95 : Meminger is a Glaceon fan. Hala likes the fighting fire chicken. Glaceon wins because fighting should not be se against ice. Ever try to punch a solid ice block. It hurts. Not like Jalen Hurts hurts but like Steelers in the first three quarters hurts. FOOTBALL!!

Elfuseon vs FrostPixel : Idt Elf played that series against Ron well. He gotta step it up bc the square root of the average half rotten lemon suggest that when two people play pokemon the one who plays better wins 59% of the time.

udongirl vs Lukasjoel1 : Stupid ladder gimmick doubles teams. If Joel is smart he should bring mono ice in doubles. That Trubbish never loses on ladder.

wesh papillon vs PokemonCestDur : Damn hate to see Pap go so soon.

Le predicts:

Stareal (49) vs daniYSB (51): HL set, Stareal takes OU, Dani takes NU and then takes RU. Very tough one but I'm backing my guy all the way.

Crunchman (55) vs crying (45): Another HL set, both are good at DOU and OU, but each takes their main tier. I remember a time when crunch kept bragging abt being in AGPL so that should translate to Ubers and I believe he takes this over another favorite.

RichardPepper (99) vs Trade (1): One of them is the goat, one isn't

Blimax (90) vs skimmythegod (10): If dani doesn't win TLT, Blim will. He easily takes this.

Meminger21 (65) vs halaman95 (35): Meminger has proven he isn't here by luck while halaman has had questionable performances all year.

Elfuseon (45) vs FrostPixel (55): Very close set, Frix takes DOU and with enough prep takes either LC or RU

udongirl (60) vs Lukasjoel1 (40): Lukas doing good so far but I think he won't be able to get past u-dong-irl's unorthodox teams and playstyle.

wesh papillon (60) vs PokemonCestDur (40): PCD proving he may not be as washed as everyone thinks he is. Hard to predict without seeing tiers but I believe in Pap.

Winners Bracket

Stareal (OU) vs daniYSB (NU, RU): dani is a well-versed lower tiers main and while stareal might be a more impressive player in general (especially OU), his game vs meminger falibor in nu was quite bad and I think dani will be able to take this in 3.

Crunchman (DOU) vs crying (OU, Ubers): I did bold Crunchman in DOU but crying is also a very good doubles player and I won't be surprised if crying takes this in two. Also crying is better at singles than Crunchman.

RichardPepper (NU) vs Trade (PU, Mono): Trade being able to play well in all tiers does not change my mind that he will win, despite richard having an incredibly tough bracket of arce9 and Gray to climb up to here. However I have a sudden gut feeling that richard will be able to take nu like he took ru vs arce9. Still rooting for trade since he is the better player.

Blimax vs skimmythegod (UU, DOU): Both being ubers players ended up not locking ubers at all. Blimax lost his only UU game vs Ainzcrad and skimmy seems to be quite well diversed in lower tiers including some upsets in PUWC, I think skimmy would take this even if it went to game 3. He also got a DOU win in one of the weeks.

Losers Bracket

Meminger21 (70) vs halaman95 (30): Meminger has had some good wins vs players I thought that were much better than him, so I think he'll be able to take this one. halaman also is coming off of a bye and I'm quite sure mushamu would've won both matchups.

Elfuseon (RU, LC) vs FrostPixel (DOU): While Elfuseon had a messy win over Ron and FrostPixel had a even messier win over Gray last week, I think Elfuseon is a better player in general and will take this with ease.

udongirl (70) vs Lukasjoel1 (30): In whatever tier they play udongirl will bring something that you'd never see in tournaments and win.

wesh papillon (40) vs PokemonCestDur (60): depends on what they play, pap will take LC with ease while PCD will take any lower tiers. If they end up playing some untier like OU or Ubers via elimination I think PCD will be able to take this.

Round Four Matchups
Winners Bracket

Stareal vs daniYSB: Stareal is probably unbeatable in OU. Assuming he'll win his tier, I think he'll win, but Dani is really good, so it will be really close.

Crunchman vs crying: Honestly I think Crying is the better player here, she's more complete, BUT, but the match probably starts 1-0 cause almost everybody in DOU vs Crunchman
its-grade-school-t-ball-vs-the-ny-yankees.jpg

Blimax vs skimmythegod: Blimax is more experienced, but Skimmy surprised me in the tour room. Blimax will probably win but he will sweat

Losers Bracket

Meminger21 vs halaman95: Halaman is quite good but Meminger surprised me in tours room and beating "famous" players

Elfuseon vs FrostPixel: I had a better impression about Elfuseon, Frost haxed Gray, but it's close this one too.

udongirl vs Lukasjoel1: Well, I didn't know Lukas but he really impressed me and I think he will surprise us again. BUT. Udongirl has some incredible ideas, and she leaves her teams under every post. Idk how many teams she has (and if they're made by her) but this gives me the idea of a great simplicity in creating them. Pokemon is play + build, not only borrow a team as most players do. Udongirl, if u don't build your teams u'll be my biggest delusion in 2021.

wesh papillon vs PokemonCestDur: PCD is always a nice guy with me and he's really solid, while Papillon is impressive in LC. I have the impression (I could be wrong) that both are great players but using other players teams, not so much on building. Who'll get the best ones? I say 51% PCD.

Since I'm out of the tour... what better time to start actually writing out predicts than now? Predicts!

Winners Bracket

Stareal vs daniYSB - The real star of ou vs the star of nu, daniYouSoBased. Both are great players who've fought well to stay in the winner's bracket, and while I might normally favor stareal overall, I think I'm leaning dani after looking at the tiers. They're playing ou, nu and ru. Star is a well known ou main with a lot of experience and prowess in the tier, so I think he should win here unless he gets hax or bad mu. The same can be said about dani in nu, but maybe to a lesser extent (since star won the tundra cup in ou), nonetheless I think dani should win here as the last time we saw star play nu in this tour was like the second coming of tc vs sensei axew. As for ru, I haven't seen star play this so its hard to say for sure, but I know dani can play this tier well. This should def go to 3 games, and while I think star might be the better player overall, I think dani is better in 2/3 of the tiers (and he's based) so I think he wins this set.

Update: Ok so dani won in 3 (ou and nu) but star was robbed. Star got a bad mu in ou and haxed in nu. At least stareal just became the best player in the losers bracket. Or... the real star of the loser's bracket.

Crunchman vs crying - Seeing the tiers, this should be closer than it looks to be on paper. Crying is a solid ou main and while I think they should win in their locked tier, crunch isn't exactly a slouch in ou either, its one of his better tiers iirc. As for dou, almost the same thing goes. Crunchman is a solid dou main with a ton of experience and is heavily involved in the doubles community, so I'm thinking he should def win in his locked tier, but like crunchman in ou, crying is no slouch in doubles either. Finally, the ubers game is the most crucial. Apparently both players have done ag related tours in the past, crying having gotten 3rd in aglt and crunchman having been in agpl. Generally, having experience in ag does seem to transfer over to ubers, so I think I will favor crying here because his accomplishments in aglt are more notable. Overall I think crying should win this set as the much better singles player, leaving crunchman crying in the loser's bracket cause he's gonna get crunched, man. If doubles is played, this should go in 3 games though.

RichardPepper vs Trade - Ok so... this can go 2 ways. 1) Trade outplays and wins cause they're goated. 2) Richard haxes to high heaven and gets good mu cause he's goated. I'm thinking trade will win looking at the tiers (Mono, PU, NU) and the fact that its trade, but who knows. If richard was able to knock 2 goats down to losers bracket already, then it will- uh, could happen.

Blimax vs skimmythegod - Ah yes, two ubers players facing each other, surely their ubers game shall be hype- wait, they're playing what tiers? Blimax locked WHAT? Interesting that there's no ubers game here, but idt it changes who I would have picked to win here. I was pretty surprised to see that blimax locked doubles, but after looking into it, I think he has a better chance here than skimmy. As for uu, of the 3 tiers here, I think uu is blimax's best, I've seen blimax play this tier pretty solidly, so I think he should win here, although skimmy might have locked it for a reason... Lastly pu, this might be the tier skimmy has the best shot at winning, as I've heard he's been doing well in puwc, although, blimax is hard to beat in almost any tier so I wouldn't say skimmy has this for sure. Overall I think if Bli plays to the max, he should win even without hax, cause he's better and more experienced, and I'm speaking fax. Blimax will show that when it comes to the god known as Skimmy, he is a non-believer.

Losers Bracket

Meminger21 vs halaman95 - Meminger's chances of losing? 21%. Halaman's chances of losing? 95%. Putting aside that those numbers together are more than 100%, I think meminger is generally favored in both tiers and in terms of playing skill. I've never really seen halaman play doubles, while I know meminger is pretty good in it, so I think meminger is def winning that. Lc and ou seem like they'll be more even. I believe lc might be halaman's main? But meminger is pretty good in that too, so I'd say he's favored there as well. As for ou, both are decent in it but I think meminger is still favored in it. Overall, his name may imply he's a meme, but he is by no means, a player you should treat like one.

Elfuseon vs FrostPixel - What if FrostPixel is getting increasingly lucky because winter is approaching? Would make sense frost can refer to winter and pixel can refer to video games... so does playing video games in winter with a name like frostpixel make him lucky?? Assuming and hoping this isn't the case, Elfuseon should win here. Since doubles is among the tiers, we know this is probably gonna go to 3 games, doubles is definitely FrostPixel's best tier, no question. Elfuseon is pretty good in lc, def better than frostpixel, so he should win here, and I'll favor Elfuseon in ru as well since I think he's just the better player in singles, and since he does various seasonals in different tiers and can actually do well. Overall, Elfuseon is just more versatile, the second coming of MalMoonsault dare I say. Ok, please no hax, please have a clean series. Please.

udongirl vs Lukasjoel1 - This should be interesting. Lukasjoel's been playing a lot of lc and nu during this tour, so I'm gonna assume those are his better tiers, but I still think udongirl is favored overall. I'm sure quite a few of us are familiar with how udongirl plays uu and the unusual things she tends to use. Unless lukasjoel properly preps for her style of play in uu, udon should win here. Now for lc and nu... I never thought of udongirl as much of an lc player, but after last week, I can see udongirl brings unusual teams to this tier too, and definitely knows how to play the tier, so I'll favor udongirl here as well. Idk how well udongirl plays nu these days, but they sure played it quite a bit a few months back, so I wouldn't be surprised if she wins here, but idrk for sure since its been a little while and lukas seems decent in nu. I feel udongirl should win this set. As some people might say, she is not "u dong irl", but rather "u done" girl, since whoever she beats rn will be out, so she is the girl who tells them "u done" as she beats them, except in my case she actually said "u done, girl".

wesh papillon vs PokemonCestDur - I expect this to be a good one between a french lad and a canadian french lad, and the hl match of the week after star vs dani. Both are great players and its hard to truly say who is favored in terms of tiers. Wesh is the best lc player remaining, so he should take that. It's a little more difficult to tell what will happen for ru and uu. Pcd is pretty good in ru from what I know, but I've seen pap play it well too, so while I'd say Pcd is favored in this tier... I'm not sure if they win here. Uu is an interesting tier here, I haven't seen much uu from either of these players, so I'm gonna say it comes down to who the better player is. Overall, I think pap is the better player, and has also been more active than pcd in the last few months, so I'll say he takes this. Wouldn't be completely surprised if pcd takes it, I think he's a little less washed than people have been saying.

Sorry for usual lateness. Thanks for reading and maybe see you next week.

(Apologies to anyone I may have possibly offended. Please do not take these very seriously.)
