All I can say is that I found this team in my teambuilder and thought, "how can I improve this?", so I decided to make it a bit better, but I'm still having trouble laddering. So without further ado, here's the team:
Magnezone @ Choice Specs
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 208 HP / 44 Def / 216 SpA / 16 SpD / 24 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunderbolt
- Flash Cannon
- Volt Switch
- Tri Attack
The star of the show, Specs Magnezone which is 1/2 of my core. Specs on Magnezone was the core I decided to build around, and in my notes, all I wrote was: "Magnezone looks bad, so I'm going to try using it." I decided on thunderbolt because its the best 100% accuracy electric attack, flash cannon for steel stab, volt turn for momentum and Tri Attack because it has a 20% to status, which is nice.
Urshifu-Rapid-Strike @ Choice Band
Ability: Unseen Fist
EVs: 196 Atk / 112 Def / 200 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Surging Strikes
- Close Combat
- Aqua Jet
- U-turn
The other star of the show, Urshifu. I chose Urshifu because its one of the best counters to ground types, which are a huge threat to magnezone. I chose Surging Strikes because its urshifus best water stab move, Aqua Jet for priority, Close Combat for fighting stab and U-turn for momentum. I chose 196 EV's in attack because 196 attack EV's brings it to 345 attack which hits for just hard enough to kill Lando-T.
Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 236 HP / 64 SpA / 120 SpD / 88 Spe
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Thunder Wave
- Pain Split
As I was scrolling through mons that learned volt turn, I saw Washtom and decided that I needed a status support for speed control (Idk if this counts as speed control but the Twave helps with fast threats). I chose Volt Switch for momentum and to form a volt switch/u-turn core with the other 2 mons, Hydro Pump because its Washtoms best water stab move, Twave for removing those fast threats and Pain Split so that it stays alive.
Landorus-Therian @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 204 HP / 176 Def / 128 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Knock Off
When I chose Lando-T, I was thinking of electric immunities, so I decided on it because it adds rocks and a u-turn volt switch support. I chose Stealth Rock for chip damage, Earthquake because its Lando-T's best Ground STAB move and (in my opinion) is 1 of the best attacks in the game, U-turn for Volt Switch/U-turn support and Knock Off to remove items and add extra coverage for Ghost mons.
Thundurus-Therian @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Focus Blast
I wanted a Nasty Plot user because I felt like I needed additional damage, and because it works as a second electric immunity, thanks to volt Absorb. Nasty Plot is so that it can start hitting harder, Thunderbolt is a great electric move, Volt switch for that Volt Switch/U-turn support and Focus blast for any Rock/Dark mons (looking at Tyranitar), as they can be a problem.
Corviknight @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 120 Def / 136 SpD
Impish Nature
- Body Press
- U-turn
- Defog
- Roost
I chose Corviknight because it has U-turn and is a great Defog user. I chose rocky helmet on it for chip damage on any opposing Ushifu's and Melmetal. Body Press is for good physical damage and because Corvikight has high defense, so it has good base power, U-turn to add to the U-turn momentum, Defog to remove any Hazards and roost for recovery.
And there is the team, as it stands, all I wrote down was that this team struggles with teams that have ice and ground core, as long as they knock out Urshifu, and I just wanted some advice on how to improve.
