Oooh... I really hope Marth is officially in this game because Ike is a horrible respresentative of Fire Emblem! He's slow and useless!

Dedede beat him in all those videos except the one where the Ike player abused items. XD BTW, Waddle Dees are so cute. o.o;

man... those dedede videos are incredible. agree with atlas, those cute little waddle dees are gonna be thrown everywhere =)

did you see the dedede vs bowser vid though, with his final smash? it looked kinda crummy =(

Actually the person playing as Ike just sucks...

I think they made the characters as balanced as possible in this game. They wouldn't make one character suck so badly.

dedede is so awesome, i was planning on maining him and after seeing those videos he looks really fun to play. his final smash does seem relatively bad although it might be better suited for FFAs or teams

I was struck by an idea!

I'm sure we've seen the silly people talking about an Animal Crossing character being in SSBB due to the sticker incident Nintendo pulled off. Not to mention that it's also cut off too.

Not all Character Stickers are exclusive to a series.

[Magic] Attack + 13

As far as I can tell, there's no such thing as Magic in Animal Crossing, unless you consider Katrina, but no. I can't really think of any characters that can use mag- Wait! I do know!
  • Zelda
  • Lucas (Psi too. Get it?)
  • Ness (Psi too. Get it?)
Now, we know this means that any magic style attack that any of these three use will be stronger. Zelda especially since that's all she really uses.

What does this mean though? What's the point of cutting off the character part? Well, Ness wasn't revealed intentionally yet now, has he? This was before the accident too. So, maybe that's why Katrina was cut off. Ness hasn't been revealed officially. Yay.

Remember, this is just a theory.

Yeah, so anyways when this game comes out I really want your Friend code, Ill be maining Ike, and you can be whoever you want we will then see how slow and useless he is. Don't judge Ike through the noob that played as him.

On another note I really don't see how he is a horrible FE rep. He has been in 2 of the games and I believe that is the most any FE character has been in. Ike or marth, I choose Ike.

The person playing Ike doesn't suck.
I believe Marth has been in two games as well, 3 if you count the upcoming remake.
Marth is in ;)

Yeah, if you look at the person playing D3 then you can easily tell he is much better than the person playing Ike.

I have decided that I am not sure who the hell I will main anymore... I might try Pokemon Trainer and Sheik at first.... then possibly Sonic and Kirby. Ugh too many damn choices :(

I have alwayd likes Kirby... but Sheik is just rad. But if sonic is better/faster than sheik then I might go for sonic. Pokemon trainer just looks like a lot of fun to play as.

Im not exactly sure but I dont really count the remake, and yes the person playing ike seems rather subpar. BUt I wasn't saying marth isn't going to be in im sure he is.

How can people say the guy that used Ike "suck"?, there is not like a good player of SSBB yet to compare, i mean c'mon. I don't see the guy falling for no reason or either just being a punching bag.

After these videos i really want to play as Pokemon Trainer, these 3 pokemon rock!, also Lucas is really interesting, too bad i like that Ness freak more xP.

I'm not understanding you guys. Ike and Dedede are almost neck-and-neck in all of their battles, usually with the Ike player making due with his laggy attacks, trying to avoid DDD's waddles and chaingrabs. Sure, DDD's impressive, but that someone who's supposed to have gratuitous amounts of lag is keeping up with someone that has easier control of his/her character is pretty cool.

Also, Kristy Haruka? You say Ike abused items? You obviously didn't see the match DDD won by using an Assist Trophy right as Ike dropped.

And on that note--O.O WALUIGI IS AN AMAZINGLY POWERFUL AT.

Upon seeing the youtube videos featuring dedede and Ike, Am I the only one that is absolutely astounded by Dedede's revocery? he has about 4 jumps (small though they may be) and a MASSIVE LEAP.

The magic of dept ?_?

Anyway, magic is put into [these things] so it could just be describeing the method in which it boosts your attack.

The 'sticker powerup' update itself showed several stickers that used [this] to show what the sticker affected, such as the Joshua (from Fire Emblem) being '[Slash] Attack +9' and the cell phone from Kirby being '[Slash] Resistance +4'. The word in the brackets most definitely refers to what the sticker affects, meaning Katrina increases the power of magic attacks.

[Edit] Also, I think Ike did very well against Dedede. It was pretty obvious that the Dedede user was really good with him, but I think the Ike player did really well and didn't rely on items any more than Dedede did. These videos have made me even more excited to play and main Ike than I already was.

And Ike is an excellent representative of Fire Emblem. He's been, by far, the most interesting central character in any of the Fire Emblem games I've played.

I have to admit, after re-watching the videos I am convinced that Ike will be good. D3 will be absolutely amazing but I think he will have a hard time with light/fast characters due to the slowness of his attacks (although this is a problem for all heavy hitters).

I just wish the two would use something other than Ike and D3 (and yes, they used Link, PT, Kirby, and Bowser but they only did that once).

I want to see PT vs. Kirby...

I don't mind them using the new characters, but what I really want them to do is pick a stage that isn't Smashville. They did do Eldin Bridge once, which was nice, but I'd like to see the other four or five stages made available.

Also...I found it odd that they kept picking Ike and Dedede, since there's a popular flash cartoon on Newgrounds and Youtube that makes a joke about Ike and Dedede fighting being an amazingly-important event. I couldn't help but keep thinking about that cartoon during the fights.

Can you post the link please? I want to see it but I am too lazy to search.

I guess Ike and D3 are their best characters or something. Or they could be keeping up with the joke. But I want to see more characters and stages too.

Also D3's final smash most likely sucks because they didn't want to make him unbalanced. I mean a heavy character with good recover, plus an amazing FS would just be too insane.

btw people, the guys in the videos were playing with the wii remote, which would explain them not coming across as pros to everyone.
I find it amazing they did that well with it O__o. Heck, I don't even think you can short hop with that thing.

Well Nintendo probably put a lot of thought into the control scheme, so it might actually be better than the GC controller. Then again, they could have practiced a lot with it beforehand so they got good before posting on Youtube.

Maybe the guys just like playing as those characters? I thought the player using Ike was doing pretty well for being a main Marth user. Apparently the guy is like second best with him, I don't remember exactly what they said on Smashboards. DDD ended up winning 3 of the 2 battles, which isn't to shabby for either of them. I personally can't wait to start using Ike, and figuring out how to counter that chain throw. Awesome usage of Ike's Final Smash, I'm more impressed by it ever time, since it doesn't matter where he is, it'll just connect.

Alright, Snakey from gamefaqs was able to get a translator to look into that japanese aritcle:

"Yeah, it probably doesn't matter much, but we might as well kill some time by looking at the info we have.
Without further ado, here is my analysis/translation;

The article specifically warns that the information from this Roadley (or whatever you want to call him, but I'll refer to him as Rodley) character is a rumour. I don't know if this is trying to say something about his credibility, or is just a standard disclaimer.

In the spoiler section (the part where you highlight the text), it says that this information was found in the comments section of another article Apparently, this article was also dealing with information from Rodley. By the way, to clear up a misconception some people had, he claims that each PART of SSE takes about 45 minutes to an hour. And that's pretty much the only other interesting information from him in that article.

Something I noticed, however, is that in regards to the comment system, anyone can enter any name and say anything. Someone could easily claim to be Rodley and post a bunch of crap. But I'll assume that Rodley would have spoken up pretty quickly as soon as he found out someone was impersonating him.

Going back to the original article in question, he indeed says those 3 are playable characters, but says he wasn't able to get any pictorial evidence, which seems a tad fishy. Furthermore, he says that Falco is unlocked by surviving for 15 minutes in the 100 man Melee, which doesn't make a lot of sense. Perhaps it was a simple mistake and he meant to say multi instead of 100. Still, it seems a tad weird.

As for the follow up article pertaining to our friend Rodley, it basically confirms my theory that they only put the rumour disclaimer in articles about leaks from him just for the sake of not claiming it's official. This suggests they have a lot of faith in him, but can't claim it as fact until it's official.

Now, the most important question of all is: Who the hell is this Rodley anyway? Honestly, I have no definite answer, but I can try to give a rough idea on what this joker's game is.

From what I gather, he's just a guy who gives info. I don't think the comparisons to Serebii are totally apt. If anything, I'd say he's more like Surfer Girl in the sense that he drops by every once in a while to spill a few beans. He's not like a super famous internet person or anything, but rather a fairly obscure guy who nonetheless has a reputation to keep.

Wii-Ds is a fairly respectable site (even more in Japan than Brawl Central, most likely) and they have quite a few articles which are based on the word of Rodley. He HAS to be more than some random nobody for them to pay this much attention to him."
