Welcome to Round 12 of the inaugural Bossaru Cup, a No Johns Double Elimination tournament where Smogon's best duel it out in a modified BO3 SM NU Gurdurr Spikes metagame!
RULES
- This is an SM NU tournament, with a slight twist: You must use all three of Garbodor, Gurdurr, and Piloswine on your team.
- This will be a Double Elimination tournament.
- Matches are to be played on Pokemon Showdown!, either on the main server or the Smogtours server.
- Activity Calls will decided by one or both of the hosts, Mr.Bossaru and yours truly.
- All applicable Smogon-wide tournament rules apply - including but not limited to ghosting, throwing, etc. If you are caught breaking these rules you will be publicly shamed for cheating in a fun side tour.
- REPLAYS ARE REQUIRED in order to advance development of the Gurdurr Spikes metagame.

Finals and Payout Structure
Real quickly I'll explain how the finals are going to work, along with the payout structure:
The week after next week, Round 12, winners and losers brackets will each have 3 players. They will play Round Robin style - each player plays the other two players, if one player beats both the other players they advance, and the two other players will be dropped to Losers Bracket or dropped out of the tour if they were already in Losers; otherwise, if each player has one win and one loss apiece the bracket resets and they play each other again.
Round 13 will be Losers only, the winner of Round 12 Losers Bracket will play the two losers of Round 12 Winners Bracket, once again in a Round Robin.
The winner of Losers Bracket Round 13 will play the winner of Winners Bracket Round 12 in a traditional Grand Final, where the player coming from the Winners Bracket only needs to win one set and the player coming from the Losers bracket needs to win two sets.
I haven't decided yet but I'll probably increase the deadline to a full week for this since you have to get two games in.
Anyone who makes it to Round 13 or 14 will be paid. This means: The winner of Losers Bracket in Round 12, and everyone in the Winners Bracket in Round 12. The 2 losers of the Round 13 Losers Round Robin will be given 3rd and 4th place prizing. The winner of the tournament is awarded 1st place prizing and whoever loses in Grand Finals is awarded 2nd place prizing.
The payout is as follows:
Total Prize Pool: $140
1st: $75 + abstract drawing of any Pokemon by Mr. Bossaru
2nd: $35
3rd/4th: $15
The deadline for this week is 11:59:59 GMT-4, Wednesday 9/7. Extensions will not be granted.
