Any older mons that were neglected over the last week that slap? Scizor is top 10 in my opinion but I guess he's popular right now anyways

And if it is Rage Fist that's broken? Banning it instead of Annihillape ultimately has the same effect: no `Ape in OU, since Rage Fist is (probably) the only thing giving it a niche. Yeah, you're denying randos the opportunity to throw it on a team because they like it or whatever, but bans aren't based on what makes every single player the happiest, they're based on what the competitive players believe creates the best experience for the tier. Folks who just want a team of their favorite `mons all together without concern for the state of the meta are always free to go play AG or whatever.
I get that, but it also keeps them from finding viability and usage in a lower tier. And if it's going to keep more people happy while still making the meta game more balanced I literally don't see the issue.

Also saying to "just go to AG" as if half the teams aren't absurd power crept super teams (even worse in something like NatDex where most people will have to go to "just use their favorites") to use your favorites just because one was deemed unhealthy for OU is incredibly disingenuous.

Out of curiosity does that new item Clear Amulet stop defog as well? Is it one use or just passive.

Because given it's description you could just slap that on a Pult and...

I've tried it out and no

Corviknight used Defog!
The effects of the opposing Amoonguss's Clear Amulet prevent its stats from being lowered!
The pointed stones disappeared from around your team!
I assumed this is how it worked. This is how clear body works, and Pult already gets clear body.

If Tera does get banned Nat Dex should just become the premiere meta. It would be silly to have a repeat of the “Gen 7, but worse” meta and totally arbitrary to restrict available mons based on what gamefreak bothered to program into the cart.
>implying Tera won't get banned in Nat Dex
Also:
1) No one is stopping you from playing Nat Dex
2) The idea of a literal fanfic meta becoming the 'premiere meta' is lol

Clear Amulet is a item clone of Clear Body so it should not block it, it may be worth testing on cartridge (not on Showdown which could be bugged) but it should not work.

Speaking of Gholdengo, I don't think it's this completely failsafe way to prevent hazard removal. I mean, sure, it completely invalidates Corviknight, but on the other hand its matchup with the common spinners is dodgy at best. A lot of users here seem to forget that generally the spinblocker is supposed to come on the spinner, and not the opposite, and Gholdengo struggles a lot to come onto Great Tusk and Iron Treads, since they can both just Knock Off on the switch to deal with both Air Balloon and Choice Scarf, which cleanly 2HKOs the Goldman and leaves it vulnerable to a followup Earthquake; Knock Off is a pretty safe move for either of them to click and Iron Treads can also alternatively use Volt Switch to scout Gholdengo and pop a eventual Air Balloon. Other more fringe spinners like Glimmora, Torkoal, Toedscruel and even Cyclizar also give it a hard time but I want to focus on the Paradox Donphans since they are both so splashable and effective as spinners. I mean it's not impossible to imagine a scenario where Gholdengo can successfully spinblock them but it has to make the correct reads and ultimately the Paradox Donphan user has the upper hand and can make safer plays to win the interaction. Air Balloon Gholdengo is also required to be kept in pristine condition which means it can't take advantage of its great defensive typing to check Tusk/Treads' teammates.

Still a super strong mon and excellent for hazard stack teams, don't get me wrong, but I think it's far from the automatic anti-removal button that it's being made out to be.

Just to shift topics a bit but need help with this rq. What spread is better for this meta game with azumarill? 252 atk/252 speed 4 spdef or 248 hp/252 atk 8 spdef? Both adamant with belly drum, aqua jet, liquidation, ice spinner?

I think a largely unspoken aspect of Iron Bundle that affects an annoyingly large number of games, at least for me personally, is its ability to just SS Kyurem its way out of any situation.

Obviously any Pokemon can be broken if it gets lucky enough and Iron Bundle is obviously broken without Freezing but this coupled with its flawless coverage, nearly unmatched speed, and annoyingly solid natural bulk, being able to Freeze defensive checks on top of just Encoring to waste their precious recovery move PP just makes it too oppressive. Kinda a pointless post because I know its getting banned this weekend but I just wanted an excuse to complain about freeze.

worth using over scream tail as a wish passer?
Idk, i would say yes because Sylveon is cutier but in reality i havent even looked at Scream Tail, can someone try sell me on it?

I would say you could use Sylv as wish passer but I personally prefer just all attacks, Specs Sylv, paired with Cylizar for sub passing
Since your using spec sylv + sub, do you have any wish passer in mind? Just to be curious °^°

It's a shame that the Legends Arceus' Frostbite did not replace freezing this gen.

Frostbite is a new status condition that works in a similar manner to burns, but with a cold focus. Instead of being frozen, the effects are slightly different

Effects:
Each turn, the Pokémon afflicted with the Frostbite loses 1/16th of its Max HP
The Pokémon's Special Attack Stat is cut by 50%.

Immunities:
Ice-type Pokémon
Frostbite can be removed when the opponent or user uses the moves: Flame Wheel, Flare Blitz
During the snow weather, Pokémon are more likely to be afflicted by Frostbite.

It's so much more competitive.

For our people concerned about the fate of all the mons on the radar, I've heard a direct finch quote about each of them:

"You are on the council but we do not grant you the seat of OU."

RIP Smogon ban all 8

Being honest, right now I think Sylveon is just better as a wisher. If anything, use Tera Fight or Tera Fire to help deal with Chi Yu prediction games or deal with steels off tera blast. But I run Reflect Wish Protect Hyper Voice

Sylveon @ Leftovers
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 252 HP / 72 Def / 60 SpA / 124 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hyper Voice
- Wish
- Reflect
- Protect

My team has 2 dedicated Tera users so I don't bother with Sylveon having anything cute, but the EVs are to 2hko Annihilape's Spdef set and avoid a 3hko once you've boosted the Rage Fist on hit 1.

I actually almost included a comment about banning Annihilape giving the option for Primeape stans to give it a shot in lower tiers with Rage Fist + Eviolite or whatever, then I remembered that lower tiers are generally (explicitly?) not considered in the process of banning things. Case-in-point, NU decided to unban Snow Warning and to instead ban Slush Rush after the Light Clay ban in...whatever tier banned light clay. This resulted in Alolan Sandslash, a viable PU `mon even without hail, to be banned there by technicality.

Also, pure brainfart suggeting anybody go play AG. I forgot for a minute that it's not just the Ubers banlist. But tiering-based usage prevents people from fielding (competitive) teams of just their favorite `mons all the time, which is what I was trying to get at. I've been there. I had alts just for getting my butt kicked with Flygon at the beginning of last gen waiting for tiers to open up where it could shine.

My personal take on terrastallizing is that it should absolutely be kept for as long as possible because of how different it is from the other modern pokemon gimmicks.
Unlike mega evolutions, which were restricted to very specific pokemon, Z-moves, which were just a once per battle ultimate move, and dynamax, which was an instant power-up button, tera types are an incredibely versatile game mechanic that not only changes battles drastically but also has strong implications in team building, as figuring out which tera types to use for each pokemon is also something that can be used to create new strategies as well as add more variety to the ways you can use a single pokemon.
Besides choosing a tera type, using it in battle is also a new challenge for players since it makes them think more about when they should terrastalize and which pokemon should do it, which also works as an interesting way of dealing with bad matchups that also makes the opponent play more carefully to avoid making a bad move at the wrong time, and the fact all pokemon can use it makes it so the new challenge of dealing with terrastallized pokemon is the same for both players.
Of course the unpredictability of the mechanic cannot be denied but considering how fun and interesting for battles and teambuilding terrastallizing is, I think getting rid of it could be a huge waste. I'm hopeful that as the tiers get formed, we'll begin to get a better idea of what tera types each pokemon is using, which could help with making it more predictable as well as integrating the gimmick into the metagame. If any action is to be taken, I hope the council will at least consider a Tera Clause first, because I really don't want to see this gimmick go too soon. If anything, the way it stands out when compared to Megas, Z-moves and Dynamax should only be more proof of how we should embrace it rather than reject it.
