Brock Lesnar in UFC

Actually, Lesnar's never failed a drug test in his pro and amatuer wrestling career.

Just thought I'd point that out.

Yea, but a lot of people steroetype wrestlers as steroid users even though some of the best ever in terms of ability (Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, etc) are obvious that they dont.

And yea, he is gonna talk shit that he is gonna will. Your supposed to go with the idea in your head that you are the better man. However, give Lesnar more time and he will be the dominant force in the heavyweight divison.

Bret has admitted to doing steroids in interviews before, mostly to rehab from injuries.

Maybe Brock didn't do steroids, but it's pretty common for people who stop using to gain some fat.

I mostly ment for people who just use them. I can understand using them to get healed quicker. its your job to wrestler, and when you cant, you cant support your family. Sure you still might get a little, but in wrestling, you also get a little more for titles, PPV, merchandise, etc. You cant do those things as well when your injured.

Lesnar is going to be a real force in the UFC. Mir, being a BJJ expert was an awful first opponent for him.

and Mazagatti really robbed him.

Probably due to dropping the roids.

Why is everyone shocked at his agility? it was pretty obvious, even in pro wrestling, that the man was agile.
i wasnt shocked at his agility i was more shocked at the fact that he really gave Mir a bad beating right up until the submission. Definatly is the "next big thing".

heres the fight incase you guys missed it.

meh glad big nog won the title, however it was a bullshit call from the ref that cost lesnar.
Mir turned into the punch it was not delibarate, lesnar would have beaten Mir if it wasn't stood up.

If Lesnar works on his submission defence he is gonna be unstoppable.
I disagree.

Mir took every hit like a man.. he really wasn't phased by Lesner's striking.

Lesner hit him in the back of the head accidentally because he was throwin his punches with NO CONTROL whatsoever.. watchin Lesner was honestly like watchin a schoolyard fight.. he tackles him and just starts throwin fists around like a maniac hopin to do somethin with 'em, and just not cuttin it.

First hold Mir gets on Lesner's ankle he submits. his offense is lacking in all every spectrum, except for spearing.. but wtf is that gonna do? Lesner is a ground fighter with no ability on the ground.. he has no control over his striking and no submission skills.. and to top it all off, he has NO DEFENSE on the ground.

I just don't see him hackin' it in the UFC when his only ability is spearing people.

I agree.

Lesnar is like most people, he does not want to get hit, he must do what he can to stop that from happening. In the UFC, people must take hits to be able to do well in the sport, unless you beat the crap out of them before they get a chance to do anything, (something that Lesnar tried). He was exactly what the above poster described: He was a school kid fighting someone who pissed him off, throwing punches until he could not breathe himself. He never got screwed neither.

I don't see Lesnar doing well in the UFC, just my opinion.

sorry but no, that was vicious ground and pound, and mir was definitely affected.

add to this it was only his second mma fight.

This guy is going to be something and Lesnar could probably beat anyone in the heavyweight division without a good JJ game. That includes Cro Cop, Sylvia, Kongo and many top 10 heavyweights.

I dont think anybody can stop his takedowns, too fast and powerful. A ground game defense is all he needs to really add to his arsenal.

You guys that see him as a freak show a la Bob Sapp are just absolutely out of it.

I know what you mean.

He has strengh, athleticism and a hunger in his eyes. His background in wrestling (the wrestling before his WWE break) helps him out with mat wrestling. We can't tell really where he needs big improvements, yet.

I know he will knock people out. I know he will make people submit. I know he has what it takes to become one hell of a scary bastard in the UFC. I just don't think he'll make it, though I should not make assumptions so early, but after that first match, I can tell he needs help on how to fight in the UFC, without trying to try and go all-out.

Only time will tell.

I think Vineon is the only one here that really sees how powerful Lesnar is. He made Frank Mir look fucking TINY and only thing he lacks is experience. I wish his first match in the UFC wasn't a BJJ expert, but then again if he had won he'd be one cocky bastard.

I'd bet anyone anything Lesnar would wreck Tim Sylvia. Say what you want, but Sylvia's overrated IMO and almost never shows any ground game other than naturally being a giant man.

Lesnar is like most people, he does not want to get hit.

i agree that he is like most newcomers into the UFC in that he is afraid of getting hit. as for him not doing well in his fights to come i completely disagree. he is extremely lacking in technique and accuracy but obviously has the desire to learn and do well. he needs to slow down mentally while he's in the ring and breath. he was more worn down than mir after the beating he gave him because he was just sitting there holding his breath while pounding him. you really have to remember that lesnar has ZERO training in any kind of martial arts. he is a pure wrestler plain and simple. when he learns how to punch with his weight behind his fists and learns how to pass guards and then use his elbows and knees instead of hammering away with the sides of his fist he will absolutely dominate. i find him similar to chuck liddell in that chuck will knock you the fuck out through your hands while Lesnar WILL take you down, you just cant stop it, he is too strong and fast. when he learns some technique and patience lesnar will quickly rise to the top and become champion.

i agree that Silvia is incredibly one sided but to beat him you have to get past his freakishly long limbs. i also don't think you give him enough credit, he DID last five rounds with Couture picking him apart. he may not wrestle all that well but he is a tough bastard and has fast hands and looong ass legs.

No. Lesnar hit Mir in the back of the head because Mir was turning away. He was turning away because he was getting seriously hurt. He turned to cover his face (there's no other reason, I mean, he's not going to give up his back) and Lesnar was in mid-punch and couldn't stop.

Lesenar will be the on top of the heavyweight divison IMO, as long as he gets more experience, and doesn't fuck up and go try something else like he did with to the WWE.

bret and shawn have both done steriods
HBK never used anabolic steriods, there was trace amounts found in his blood but he has went on the record to say hes never used them. Hes never really been big so i doubt he used them.

Watch the new HBK documentary, he says he never used them in there.

lol do you believe everything wwe produced, so what if he wasnt big neither is mysterio. In his prime Michaels would barely be touching 200 pounds. He used them in his prime maybe not now.

no you cant believe everything they produced but he never used steriods man if he didnt get any bigger/smaller during/after his prime then what proof do you have that he was using steriods?

Even now he looks pretty much the same.

Lesnar has a long background as wrestler and I think he will win *whateverhisnamewas* UFC in few months. He has muscle mass and size so much, so it shouldn't take much.

I watched the Lesnar fight with a bunch of friends, and we were all extremely surprised. After looking at Frank Mir during, and after the fight, I think that if it had gone past the first round Lesnar would have won. The whole fight lasted what, 1:38? Mir's face after the fight looked like he had just gone through a 3 round war.

Lesnar definatly needs to add some technique to his striking and JJ game, but once he does, he'll be a monster in the ring. I'd also like to add that he is one of the biggest people I have ever seen.
