oj do you know what pocketing is? it's when two town players find each other early on in the game and create a powerful core where they're able to logic out the mafia by giving their unflinching trust to one another. it's a very common strategy to win mafia and it wins games most of the game it's used successfully. I'm gonna pocket you this game okay?

i think it's very interesting how you provided reasoning that LS was scum when the same thing basically applied to aura. I'm not saying LS isn't a scum slot, but your jump to conclusions on psy, Eli, and LS as well as general ignorance of anyone else is very weird to me

Only real reads I have right now (other than my current vote) are that master oden and Lady Salamence both seem to be trying to help, albeit in different ways (logic and volunteering, respectively). I'm reserving judgment on all others for now, since... first phase, no info other than votes.

Caff - Def a meta read but Caff feels far too quiet. Could be many explanations but being maf is one of them
Nuxl - Somewhat similar reasons to Caff? I find him town reading me weird with no support of it, then it being immediately retracted after realiti agrees.
OJ - Feels like they’re trying to caricaturize themselves to make themselves just be seen as haha funny town. Feels off.
shadowpea - The way they’ve approached stuff feels designed to make us gloss over them as a “new mafia player”. Similar reasons as OJ.
Town
Aura - Aura feels like a genuinely new player, who read Psy’s pocketing thing and thought it was real (either that or I got wooshed by the extra layer of satire).
Psy - Psy is active and providing lots of reads. Very tentatively townlean in my mind because it’s D1 so it’s eh. Also the reads aren’t being like, supported much beyond “I still think this”. No reasoning as to why, which I am choosing to view as town. Slightly concerned about a quantity v quality but again, but for now, town.

vizh - what i remember most about vizh from big maf (have not played with him since and cannot recall a game he was in since) was that he had very careful and manicured posting and he was trying to sound town and was extremely scared to sound not town. vizh is no longer a first timer and probably knows some of us in this game better by now so he might feel more comfortable but im still going to scumread him because i feel that same underlying scared vibe from him
hal - i dont see why hal feels the need to explain his behavior in not wanting to roast people. it feels very much like "okay im going to play safer this game, let me provide a precautionary reasoning so that i dont get scumread for it" i remember hal also in big maf was like perfectly amiable and normal without having to be like im going to be NICE!!! but idk that game was over a year ago dont count on my memory
schia - one game schia wrote their reads on a bunch of tiny little post it notes in their very very nice handwriting and took a picture and sent it into the thread. and they were scum. schia is an extremely strong scum player, i will probably always struggle to read them, therefore im going to take the easy route here and by default declare them scum
eli - ive explained why eli is scummy to me already but it feels like hes trying to copy his knight errant play in a much more purposeful way to basically signal to everyone like HEY! im doing this again, that means im town wink wink! nope! it does not eli!
oj - apparently this is his first game and while i do believe oj as scum could probably just be set loose and cause chaos without any need to be coached by his team, it does feel like he has a surprisingly decent grip on the terminology and idea of scumreading people in mafia for someone whos does not play mafia like idk maybe im just a weak minded clown but it took me a long time to feel any amount of comfortable in reading people like im talking multiple games but oj is out here throwing stuff around and "pressuring" people like he has some outer knowledge

I've played quite a few games, and hosted a couple as well. It's just, Smogon mafia is the only one I've played and it basically died for a long while. REALLY rusty. Not new.
