Sneasler @ Heavy-Duty Boots / Protective Pads
Ability: Poison Touch
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- U-turn
- Close Combat
- Dire Claw
- Fire Punch / Night Slash

[SET COMMENTS]
Sneasler can use its combination of high Attack and Speed to function as a potent pivot, racking up chip damage against defensive Pokemon such as Landorus-T, Zapdos, Great Tusk, and other tanks. Its ability, Poison Touch, alongside Dire Claw allows it to spread status and cripple its checks, mainly to enable Hex Dragapult and hit would-be checks like Toxapex, Gastrodon, and Clefable for massive damage. Heavy-Duty Boots allows Sneasler to ignore Stealth Rock and Spikes to continue switching in and retain its offensive presence throughout the game. However, Sneasler is also hindered by contact punishment from the likes of Ferrothorn, defensive Landorus-T and Garchomp, and Zapdos, so Protective Pads helps provide more longevity. U-turn allows Sneasler to function as a pivot, bringing in other offensive threats such as Dragapult along with other special attackers like Tapu Lele to take advantage of physical tanks that can wall Sneasler such as Toxapex, Gliscor, and Landorus-T. U-turn also allows it to easily spread poison with Poison Touch. Fire Punch allows Sneasler to hit Gholdengo, which is immune to its STAB combination, and also dent Mega Scizor. Night Slash could be considered as an alternative to hit Dragapult switching in while also still hitting Gholdengo. Fake Out is another possibility to allow Sneasler to safely poison faster threats. However, Sneasler is easily checked by faster Pokemon that can threaten to revenge kill it such as offensive Tornadus-T, Choice Scarf users such as Urshifu-R or Landorus-T, and powerful priority users like Extreme Killer Dragonite. As such, Sneasler benefits from having a sturdy defensive backbone with Pokemon like Toxapex or Ferrothorn to tank hits that Sneasler dislikes. Sneasler also forces a lot of switches, so it benefits from allies that can set hazards like Ferrothorn, Skarmory, or Heatran, which also switch in on Flying- and Psychic-type moves for Sneasler. Sneasler also has a tendency to be completely walled by the likes of Toxapex, Gliscor, and Landorus-T and benefits greatly from having allies that it can pivot to in order to exploit these checks for damage, like Tapu Lele or Zapdos.

pads should be slashed on as an item -> a line talking about it vs boots

ur not racking up any chip vs skarm or mzor, ur more likely to take chip from them, and wash isnt ur main target, ur primary target is stuff like lando, pex, and getting status om stuff like them so ur teammates break through

u have one mention of hex dragapult in this entire analysis when it is this sets must-use partner alongside, the entire goal of this set is statusing stuff so hex pult can break through them, u need to rewrite this a lot to accomodate

there is a lot of fluff (useless parts) here that do not need to be included / add nothing to the analysis that ill outline below

usually used before U-turning out.

more than Togekiss’ flinch chance

If Sneasler activates its Tera, it can function as a powerful fighting wallbreaker with obscenely powerful Close Combats.

fake out is not a relevant move, remove that, the primary move is fire punch

i dont know why night slash or shadow claw is mentioned, fire punch hits ghold harder?

cc also hits corv (not relevant dont mention) and skarm harder, but both do 0 damage to skarm. ferro also takes more from cc, all u shld mention w fpunch is pressure ghold + hit mzor, nothing else is really relevant

please do not say stuff “goes wild”

nuke all corv mentions throughout

u need to basically rewrite this and fix the set, nuke all of the fluff and a reminder to keep ur facts in check, ie sclaw / night slash used to hit ghold when fpunch hits harder, fpunch hitting corv and skarm when cc hits harder

tag me when ur done for a full check

fake out is not a relevant move, remove that, the primary move is fire punch
I included that initially because it was in the current sample on Smogon

tag me when ur done for a full check
How do I tag? I've looked around but I can't find

Sneasler can use its combination of high Attack and Speed to function as a potent pivot, racking up chip damage against defensive Pokemon such as Landorus, Toxapex, and other tanks, before switching out to teammates that can take advantage of its ability to bring in physically defensive walls, like Volcarona or Tapu Lele. Its ability Poison Touch also allows it to threaten to spread poison and slowly chip checks like Great Tusk, Landorus, Pelipper on rain teams, Volcarona, Zapdos and more, although it fears status from the latter two. This lets teammates like Hex Dragapult and Gholdengo to hit would-be checks for massive damage. Heavy Duty Boots allows Sneasler to ignore Stealth Rocks and Spikes to continue switching in and retain its offensive presence throughout the game, while Protective Pads helps prevent random status from Zapdos along with removing Rocky Helmet and Rough Skin chip from the likes of Ferrothorn, defensive Landorus-T or Garchomp. U-turn allows Sneasler to deal small chip when switching out, and spread poison through Poison Touch. Close Combat is a powerful STAB to neutrally hit and dent much of the metagame. Dire Claw, when combined with Poison Touch has a ridiculous 65% chance to status its opponent, usually poisoning but potentially paralysing or even putting it to sleep. Fire Punch allows Sneasler to hit Gholdengo, who is immune to both its STABs, and also dent Mega Scizor. The given EVs allow Sneasler to be as fast and hit as hard as possible. However, Sneasler is easily checked by faster Pokemon that can threaten to revenge kill it, such as offensive Tornadus-T or Dragapult, scarf users such as Urshifu-R or Landorus-T, or powerful priority users like Extreme Killer Dragonite. As such, Sneasler benefits from having a sturdy defensive backbone, with pokemon like Toxapex or Corviknight to tank hits that Sneasler dislikes. Sneasler also forces a lot of switches, so it benefits from allies who can set hazards, like Ferrothorn, Skarmory, or Heatran, which also switch in on Flying and Psychic type moves for Sneasler. Finally, Sneasler’s status spreading allows Hex Dragapult or Gholdengo to deal large damage to its checks and break through.

e: you were looking at the ou sample set, the natdex sample set is this

please use this set (exclude band though)

How do I tag? I've looked around but I can't find

type @ then my name, like this adem

please edit your original post, dont make a new post with your analysis btw. also with reading the first few lines of your new one, your still missing the point, sneasler is not going to be doing much of any damage against most teams, it is walled far too easily, its main and only job is spreading status for hex pult, just that really, hex ghold is not a relevant set nor one that abuses sneasler well

also, your not 1/2 yet, i have not stamped this, you still need to rewrite it, there are a lot of issues

sorry I'm completely new to this lmao, not sure how that worked. I don't have time anymore today so ill continue this tomorrow

What about hex Gengar? It gets venoshock too and is fast (although slower than valiant), should I mention it?

On another note I think it's ready for checking

Sneasler can use its combination of high Attack and Speed to function as a potent pivot, racking up chip damage against defensive Pokemon such as Landorus, Toxapex u literaly cant hurt pex at all Zapdos, Great Tusk and other tanks. Its ability Poison Touch alongside Dire Claw allows it to spread poison and slowly chip its checks status and cripple its checks, mainly to allow Hex Dragapult to benefit and hit would-be checks for massive damage. Heavy Duty Boots allows Sneasler to ignore Stealth Rocks and Spikes to continue switching in and retain its offensive presence throughout the game. However, Sneasler is also hindered by contact punishment from the likes of Ferrothorn, defensive Landorus-T and Garchomp, and Zapdos, so Protective Pads helps prevent those. U-turn allows Sneasler to deal chip when switching out function as a pivot, bringing in its other offensive threats such as {insert} on its checks such as {insert}, and spread poison through Poison Touch. Close Combat is a powerful STAB to neutrally hit and dent much of the metagame. Dire Claw, when combined with Poison Touch has a ridiculous 65% chance to status its opponent, usually poisoning but potentially paralysing or even putting it to sleep. all filler Fire Punch allows Sneasler to hit Gholdengo, who is immune to both its STABs, and also dent Mega Scizor. The given EVs allow Sneasler to be as fast and hit as hard as possible. However, filler Sneasler,, is easily checked by faster Pokemon that can threaten to revenge kill it, such as offensive Tornadus-T, scarf users such as Urshifu-R or Landorus-T, or powerful priority users like Extreme Killer Dragonite. Dragapult also faces a similar problem, even with its faster speed tier. As such, Sneasler benefits from having a sturdy defensive backbone, with pokemon like Toxapex or Corviknight Ferrothorn to tank hits that Sneasler dislikes. Sneasler also forces a lot of switches, so it benefits from allies who can set hazards, like Ferrothorn, Skarmory, or Heatran, which also switch in on Flying and Psychic type moves for Sneasler. rly need to mention that sneas has a tendency to get stonewalled sometimes by pex, glisc, lando etc. and mention the importance of having pokemon that can exploit them when sneas uturns out on them

if there r any further issues o well thats for the second qc, 1/2 now

Sneasler @ Heavy-Duty Boots / Protective Pads
Ability: Poison Touch
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- U-turn
- Close Combat
- Dire Claw
- Fire Punch / Night Slash, because it allows sneasler to hit Dragapult and at the same time Gholdengo which Fire Punch doesn't do. Solely relying on poison touch sucks. Fake out is also a decent option for a pivot, altho I wouldn't mention it directly in the set but later in the analysis, just after the fire punch mention.

I'll check one last time before giving 2/2
